However, there is lack of consideration for nurturing professional manpower for Environment - friendly construction industry. In order to support rapid growth, it is necessary to analyze the competency of professional manpower to prepare for successful Environment - friendly construction industry. Thus, this research derive competency variables through the literature review and experts' interview was applied toward an validating of the key variables. Further, a survey of competency factors for sustainable construction was performed and analyzed through exploratory factor analysis. The result showed that four key competency factors were derived, and two factors stood out : Understanding of Sustainability and Affective Competency. The meaning of this research is to investigate relationship between the characteristics of Environment - friendly construction and importance of competency factor.

  • Recently, the software system is getting complicating and the customers are requiring faster development. For the traditional sequential approach can't against this problem iterative approach is used instead. For the representative iterative approach, there is RUP (Rational's Unified Process). However, RUP standard practical methods are phase, iteration, and disciplines, sequentially. As a result, there's some waste of manpower when a discipline is executed in an iteration, it has to wait till the next same discipline is executed. There are linear approach, sequential approach, overlapped iteration approach, and time-boxed iteration for the efficient execution of RUP. However, they have some problems such as waste of manpower or difficulty in the project management. This paper suggests a method about how to execute the disciplines as a concurrent type. The concurrent approach prevents the waste of manpower and solves the difficulty of project management.

  • There is a limitation on counteracting recent cyber-attacks with only technical security measures because they become more intelligent and large-scale to aim at employees instead of systems directly or to be conducted with unspecified multiple PCs. Thus, comprehensive measures revolved around related manpower are necessary to deal with them. However, domestic information security education system which is the base of professional manpower training lacks medium-and long-term plans for information security education, verification of education programs, and information sharing among educational institutions. This paper suggests information security education development plans for resolving problems on domestic education systems and improving cyber information security environment such as a national information security education master plan, certification system introduction of education programs, and professional manpower database management.

  • In consideration of current circumstances which management activities for safety performance on construction sites are mostly controlled by safety personnel, it is necessary to maintain qualified safety personnel those who are experienced and have adequate ability. This is a major factor in order to prevent any of work related incident in the construction site. However, the existing standard which enforces certain number of safety personnel in the construction site aligning with respective contract amount could lead to difficulties for proactive safety management. So, it is required to get improvement on the existing standard. In nominating the proper number of safety personnel, it would be more efficient to consider the level of risk for characteristic of work itself and the total number of manpower mobilized in respective construction work, rather than to follow the existing standard of manpower ratio as per the contract amount. Hence, this study aims to propose several plans which enable to improve the existing standard for assignment of safety personnel on construction sites.
