In big data age, flexible and affordable cloud storage service greatly enhances productivity for enterprises and individuals, but spontaneously has their outsourced data susceptible to integrity breaches. Provable Data Possession (PDP) as a critical technology, could enable data owners to efficiently verify cloud data integrity, without downloading entire copy. To address challenging integrity problem on multiple clouds for multiple owners, an identity-based batch PDP scheme was presented in ProvSec 2016, which attempted to eliminate public key certificate management issue and reduce computation overheads in a secure and batch method. In this paper, we firstly demonstrate this scheme is insecure so that any clouds who have outsourced data deleted or modified, could efficiently pass integrity verification, simply by utilizing two arbitrary block-tag pairs of one data owner. Specifically, malicious clouds are able to fabricate integrity proofs by 1) universally forging valid tags and 2) recovering data owners' private keys. Secondly, to enhance the security, we propose an improved scheme to withstand these attacks, and prove its security with CDH assumption under random oracle model. Finally, based on simulations and overheads analysis, our batch scheme demonstrates better efficiency compared to an identity based multi-cloud PDP with single owner effort.

Signcryption is a cryptographic primitive that provides authentication (signing) and confidentiality (encrypting) simultaneously at a lower computational cost and communication overhead. With the proposition of certificateless public key cryptography (CLPKC), certificateless signcryption (CLSC) scheme has gradually become a research hotspot and attracted extensive attentions. However, many of previous CLSC schemes are constructed based on time-consuming pairing operation, which is impractical for mobile devices with limited computation ability and battery capacity. Although researchers have proposed pairing-free CLSC schemes to solve the issue of efficiency, many of them are in fact still insecure. Therefore, the challenging problem is to keep the balance between efficiency and security in CLSC schemes. In this paper, several existing CLSC schemes are cryptanalyzed and a new CLSC scheme without pairing based on elliptic curve cryptosystem (ECC) is presented. The proposed CLSC scheme is provably secure against indistinguishability under adaptive chosen-ciphertext attack (IND-CCA2) and existential unforgeability under adaptive chosen-message attack (EUF-CMA) resting on Gap Diffie-Hellman (GDH) assumption and discrete logarithm problem in the random oracle model. Furthermore, the proposed scheme resists the ephemeral secret leakage (ESL) attack, public key replacement (PKR) attack, malicious but passive KGC (MPK) attack, and presents efficient computational overhead compared with the existing related CLSC schemes.

Recently MANET application is diversified studies on the MANET routing security and the reliable authentication mechanism is actively in progress. Stand-alone network structure of a MANET is an important field of ubiquitous computing environment of interest, Authentication techniques are already provided safety when applied to MANET reliability and efficiency in a secure authentication mechanism using the session key. However, most of the MANET environment, the model has been based on the assumption that the safety is guaranteed, When applied to an actual network situation, we can not rule out a variety of threats. This study is the testing and analysis to add the malicious node extracted at random to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of the session key certification techniques of the MANET environment.
Internet mail has become a common communication method around the world because of tremendous Internet service usage increment. In other respect, Most Internet users' mail addresses are exposed to spammer, and the damage of Junk mail is growing bigger and bigger. These days, Junk mail delivery problem is becoming more serious, because this is used for an attack or propagation scheme of malicious code. It's a most dangerous dominant cause for computer system accident. This paper shows the Junk mail filtering model and implementation which is based on FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) check and evaluates it for proposing advanced scheme against Junk mail.
This article presents a security module based on a field programmable gate array (FPGA) to mitigate man-in-the-middle cyber attacks. Nowadays, the FPGA is considered to be the state of the art in nuclear power plants I&C systems due to its flexibility, reconfigurability, and maintainability of the FPGA technology; it also provides acceptable solutions for embedded computing applications that require cybersecurity. The proposed FPGA-based security module is developed to mitigate information-gathering attacks, which can be made by gaining physical access to the network, e.g., a man-in-the-middle attack, using a cryptographic process to ensure data confidentiality and integrity and prevent injecting malware or malicious data into the critical digital assets of a nuclear power plant data communication system. A model-based system engineering approach is applied. System requirements analysis and enhanced function flow block diagrams are created and simulated using CORE9 to compare the performance of the current and developed systems. Hardware description language code for encryption and serial communication is developed using Vivado Design Suite 2017.2 as a programming tool to run the system synthesis and implementation for performance simulation and design verification. Simple windows are developed using Java for physical testing and communication between a personal computer and the FPGA.

With delegating proxy to process data before outsourcing, data owners in restricted access could enjoy flexible and powerful cloud storage service for productivity, but still confront with data integrity breach. Identity-based data auditing as a critical technology, could address this security concern efficiently and eliminate complicated owners' public key certificates management issue. Recently, Yu et al. proposed an Identity-Based Public Auditing for Dynamic Outsourced Data with Proxy Processing (https://doi.org/10.3837/tiis.2017.10.019). It aims to offer identity-based, privacy-preserving and batch auditing for multiple owners' data on different clouds, while allowing proxy processing. In this article, we first demonstrate this scheme is insecure in the sense that malicious cloud could pass integrity auditing without original data. Additionally, clouds and owners are able to recover proxy's private key and thus impersonate it to forge tags for any data. Secondly, we propose an improved scheme with provable security in the random oracle model, to achieve desirable secure identity based privacy-preserving batch public auditing with proxy processing. Thirdly, based on theoretical analysis and performance simulation, our scheme shows better efficiency over existing identity-based auditing scheme with proxy processing on single owner and single cloud effort, which will benefit secure big data storage if extrapolating in real application.
Internet of Things (IoT) is considered the future network to support wireless communications. To realize an IoT network, sufficient spectrum should be allocated for the rapidly increasing IoT devices. Through cognitive radio, unlicensed IoT devices exploit cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) to opportunistically access a licensed spectrum without causing harmful interference to licensed primary users (PUs), thereby effectively improving the spectrum utilization. However, an open access cognitive IoT allows abnormal IoT devices to undermine the CSS process. Herein, we first establish a hard-combining attack model according to the malicious behavior of falsifying sensing data. Subsequently, we propose a weighted sequential hypothesis test (WSHT) to increase the PU detection accuracy and decrease the sampling number, which comprises the data transmission status-trust evaluation mechanism, sensing data availability, and sequential hypothesis test. Finally, simulation results show that when various attacks are encountered, the requirements of the WSHT are less than those of the conventional WSHT for a better detection performance.

In the system of ciphertext policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE), only when the attributes of data user meets the access structure established by the encrypter, the data user can perform decryption operation. So CP-ABE has been widely used in personal health record system (PHR). However, the problem of key abuse consists in the CP-ABE system. The semi-trusted authority or the authorized user to access the system may disclose the key because of personal interests, resulting in illegal users accessing the system. Consequently, aiming at two kinds of existing key abuse problems: (1) semi-trusted authority redistributes keys to unauthorized users, (2) authorized users disclose keys to unauthorized users, we put forward a CP-ABE scheme that has authority accountability, user traceability and supports arbitrary monotonous access structures. Specifically, we employ an auditor to make a fair ruling on the malicious behavior of users. Besides, to solve the problem of user leaving from the system, we use an indirect revocation method based on trust tree to implement user revocation. Compared with other existing schemes, we found that our solution achieved user revocation at an acceptable time cost. In addition, our scheme is proved to be fully secure in the standard model.

Social networking platforms have become a smart way for people to interact and meet on internet. It provides a way to keep in touch with friends, families, colleagues, business partners, and many more. Among the various social networking sites, Twitter is one of the fastest-growing sites where users can read the news, share ideas, discuss issues etc. Due to its vast popularity, the accounts of legitimate users are vulnerable to the large number of threats. Spam and Malware are some of the most affecting threats found on Twitter. Therefore, in order to enjoy seamless services it is required to secure Twitter against malicious users by fixing them in advance. Various researches have used many Machine Learning (ML) based approaches to detect spammers on Twitter. This research aims to devise a secure system based on Hybrid Similarity Cosine and Soft Cosine measured in combination with Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to secure Twitter network against spammers. The similarity among tweets is determined using Cosine with Soft Cosine which has been applied on the Twitter dataset. GA has been utilized to enhance training with minimum training error by selecting the best suitable features according to the designed fitness function. The tweets have been classified as spammer and non-spammer based on ANN structure along with the voting rule. The True Positive Rate (TPR), False Positive Rate (FPR) and Classification Accuracy are considered as the evaluation parameter to evaluate the performance of system designed in this research. The simulation results reveals that our proposed model outperform the existing state-of-arts.

The importance and necessity of artificial intelligence, particularly machine learning, has recently been emphasized. In fact, artificial intelligence, such as intelligent surveillance cameras and other security systems, is used to solve various problems or provide convenience, providing solutions to problems that humans traditionally had to manually deal with one at a time. Among them, information security is one of the domains where the use of artificial intelligence is especially needed because the frequency of occurrence and processing capacity of dangerous codes exceeds the capabilities of humans. Therefore, this study intends to examine the definition of artificial intelligence and machine learning, its execution method, process, learning algorithm, and cases of utilization in various domains, particularly the cases and contents of artificial intelligence technology used in the field of information security. Based on this, this study proposes a method to apply machine learning technology to the method of classifying and detecting malware that has rapidly increased in recent years. The proposed methodology converts software programs containing malicious codes into images and creates training data suitable for machine learning by preparing data and augmenting the dataset. The model trained using the images created in this manner is expected to be effective in classifying and detecting malware.
