  • Some asteroid specimens were collected at a depth of 150 m near Moseulpo in Jeju Island, Korea using fishing nets on October 2014. The specimens were identified as Henricia pacifica Hayashi, 1940 belonging to the family Echinasteridae of order Spinulosida. In the Korean fauna, seven species of genus Henricia were reported of which two species, H. nipponica and H. ohshimai, were distributed in Jeju Island. The morphological characteristics of this species were re-described with illustrations.

  • In this paper, we study the properties of the modified winsorized mean to estimate the mean of a two-truncation parameter population. Under some mild conditions, the estimator is found to be strongly consistent and asymptotically unbiased even though the sample is doubly type II censored.

  • This new family of portable real time SEQUENTIAL MOBILITY PARTICLE COUNTER and SIZER (SMPS+C) is designed for mobility and easy field use. An integrated battery assures hours of operation, a data logger system storage of all optioned results and a user friendly powerful software easy operation. This technology not only simplifies the SMPS operation, but it permits new on site application monitoring up to a remote wireless telephone operation. (omitted)

  • We establishes the polynomial convergence of a new class of path-following methods for semidefinite linear complementarity problems (SDLCP) whose search directions belong to the class of directions introduced by Monteiro [9]. Namely, we show that the polynomial iteration-complexity bound of the well known algorithms for linear programming, namely the predictor-corrector algorithm of Mizuno and Ye, carry over to the context of SDLCP.

  • In this paper we characterize asymptotic stability via Lyapunov function in general dynamical systems on c-first countable space. We give a family of examples which have first countable but not c-first countable, also c-first countable and locally compact space but not metric space. We obtain several necessary and sufficient conditions for a compact subset M of the phase space X to be asymptotic stability.

  • Let X be a closed convex subset of a Banach space B and T:X.rarw.X a lipschitzian rotative map, i.e., such that ∥Tx-Ty∥.leq.k∥x-y∥ and ∥T$^{n}$ x-x∥.leq.a∥Tx-x∥ for some real k, a and an integer n>a. We denote by .PHI. (n, a, k, X) the family of all such maps. In [3], [4], K. Goebel and M. Koter obtained results concerning the existence of fixed points of T depending on k, a and n. In the present paper, the main results of [3], [4] are so strengthened that some information concerning the geometric estimations of fixed points are given.

  • This paper describes the design and construction of main Arch bridge using Ultra-high performance concrete, Ductal in the Sunyudo pedestrian bridge project. Ductal is a new family of cementing materials with remarkable properties. Its mechanical characteristics reach unique values, with compressive strength in industrial use of 180 to 230 MPa and bending tensile strength of 50 to 80 MPa. By the use of Ductal, main Arch bridge crossing the Han-river is designed to the span 120m-long with optimized $\pi$ shape section.

  • In this paper, we consider surfaces in the 3-dimensional Euclidean space $\mathbb{E}^3$ which are of finite III-type, that is, they are of finite type, in the sense of B.-Y. Chen, corresponding to the third fundamental form. We present an important family of surfaces, namely, tubes in $\mathbb{E}^3$. We show that tubes are of infinite III-type.

  • A sea star was collected with fishing nets at a depth of approximately 100-160 m in the East Sea and was identified as Stephanasterias albula (Stimpson, 1853) belonging to the family Asteriidae of the order Forcipulatida. This species characterized by having the capability of asexual reproduction by self-division turned out to be new to the Korean fauna. Its morphological characteristics are redescribed with illustrations. Thirty one species of sea stars including S. albula are now recorded from the East Sea of Korea.

  • Some asteroid specimens were collected from the subtidal zone near Gapado, Jejudo Island with fishing net on June 2010. Among them, Anseropoda petaloides (Goto, 1914) which belongs to the family Asterinidae of the order Valvatida turned out to be a new record from Korea. Morphological characters of this species collected at 130 m deep are redescribed with photographs. This species is characterized by its very thin body composed of plates imbricated into each other like scales. Twenty four asteroids are currently known from Jejudo Island, Korea.
