  • In this paper, a robust $H\infty$ stabilization problem to a uncertain discrete-time nonlinear systems with time-delay via fuzzy static output feedback is investigated. The Takagj-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is employed to represent an uncertain nonlinear system with time-delayed state. Then, the parallel distributed compensation technique is used for designing of the robust fuzzy controller. Using a single Lyapunov function, the globally asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed-loop fuzzy control system are discussed. Sufficient conditions for the existence of robust $H\infty$ controllers are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities via similarity transform and congruence transform technique. We have shown the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through the simulation.

  • This paper presents a state feedback based backstepping control algorithm to address the trajectory tracking problem of an underactuated Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) in the horizontal plane. A nonlinear three Degree of Freedom (DOF) underactuated dynamic model for USV is considered, and trajectory tracking controller that can track both curve trajectory and straight line trajectory with high accuracy is designed as the well known Persistent Exciting (PE) conditions of yaw velocity is completely relaxed in our study. The proposed controller has further been enriched by incorporating an integral action additionally for enhancing the steady state performance and control precision of the USV trajectory tracking control system. Global stability of the overall system is proved by Lyapunov theory and Barbalat's Lemma, and then simulation experiments are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the controller designed.

  • This paper presents the stabilization method for polynomial fuzzy large-scale system by using output feedback controller. Each sub system of the large-scale system is transformed into polynomial fuzzy model, and then output feedback controller is designed to stabilize the large-scale system. Stabilization condition is derived as sum-of-square (SOS) condition by applying the polynomial Lyapunov function. This condition can be easily solved by SOSTOOLS which is the third party of the MATLAB. From these solutions, output feedback controller gain can be obtained by SOS condition. Finally, a simulation example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness and the suitability of the proposed method.

  • The paper proposes a sensorless speed control strategy for a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) based on a new SMO (Sliding Mode Observer), which substitutes a signum function with a sigmoid function. To apply robust sensorless control of PMSM against parameter fluctuations and disturbance, the high speed SMO is proposed, which estimates the rotor position and angular velocity from the back EMF. The low-pass filter and additional position compensation of the rotor are used to reduce the chattering problem commonly found in sliding mode observer with signum function, which becomes possible by applying the sigmoid function with the control of a switching function. Also the proposed sliding mode observer with the sigmoid function has better efficiency than the conventional sliding mode observer since it adjusts the observer gain by variable boundary layer and estimates the stator resistance. The stability of the proposed sliding mode observer is verified by the Lyapunov second method in determining the observer gain. The validity of the proposed high speed PMSM sensorless velocity control has been demonstrated by real experiments.

  • This paper proposes a decentralized control technique for 2-dimensional experimental helicopter systems. The decentralized control technique is especially suitable in large-scale control systems. We derive the stabilization condition for the interconnected Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy system using the rigorous tool-Lyapunov stability criterion and formulate the controller design condition in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI). To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method, we include the experiment result as well as a computer simulation one, which strongly convinces us the applicability to the industry.

  • In this paper we propose a noise reduction algorithm which based on cellular automata with the local median rule. It is supposed that there is no information about the features of the image that must be improved. The proposed method behavior is to locally increase or decrease the gray level differences of the image without loss of the main characteristics of the image. The dynamical behavior of these automata is completely determined by Lyapunov operators for sequential and parallel update. We have found that the automata present very fast convergence to fixed points, stability in front of random noisy images. Based on the experimental results we discuss the advantage and efficiency.

  • An electric scooter with a V-belt continuously variable transmission (CVT) driven by a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) has a lot of nonlinear and time-varying characteristics, and accurate dynamic models are difficult to establish for linear controller designs. A PMSM servo-drive electric scooter controlled by a novel hybrid modified recurrent Legendre neural network (NN) control system is proposed to solve difficulties of linear controllers under the occurrence of nonlinear load disturbances and parameters variations. Firstly, the system structure of a V-belt CVT driven electric scooter using a PMSM servo drive is established. Secondly, the novel hybrid modified recurrent Legendre NN control system, which consists of an inspector control, a modified recurrent Legendre NN control with an adaptation law, and a recouped control with an estimation law, is proposed to improve its performance. Moreover, the on-line parameter tuning method of the modified recurrent Legendre NN is derived according to the Lyapunov stability theorem and the gradient descent method. Furthermore, two optimal learning rates for the modified recurrent Legendre NN are derived to speed up the parameter convergence. Finally, comparative studies are carried out to show the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme through experimental results.

In this Paper we Propose noise removal and edge detection algorithm using a Potts Automata which is based on Cellular Automata. The proposed method is aimed to locally increase or decrease the differences in gray level values between pixel of the image without loss of the main characteristics of the image. The dynamical behavior of these automata is determined by Lyapunov operators for sequential and parallel update. We have found that proposed automata rules Present very fast convergence to fixed points, stability in front of random noisy images. • Applied by periodic Stimulating Currents in Bonhoeffer-Van der Pol(BVP) model, chaotic and periodic phenomena occured at specific conditions. The conditions of the chaotic motion in BVP comprised 0.7182< $A_{1}$ <0.792 and 1.09< $A_{1}$ <1.302 proved by the analysis of phase plane, bifurcation diagram, and lyapunov exponent. To control the chaotic motion, two methods were suggested by the first used the amplitude parameter $A_{1}$,$A_{1}={\varepsilon}((x-x_{s})-(y-y_{s}))$ and the second used the temperature parameter c, c=c$(1+ {\eta}cos{\Omega}t)$ which the values of $\eta$, ${\Omega}$ varied respectlvly, and $x_{s}$, $y_{s}$ are the periodic signal. As a result of simulating these methods, the chaotic phenomena was controlled with the periodic motion of periodisity. The feasibilities of the chaotic and the periodic phenomena were analysed by phase plane and lyapunov exponent.

  • This paper presents an adaptive fuzzy control scheme for nonlinear helicopter system which has uncertainty or unknown variations in parameters. The proposed adaptive fuzzy controller is a model reference adaptive controller. The parameters of fuzzy controller are adjusted so that the plant output tracks the reference model output. It is shown that the adaptive law guarantees the stability of the closed-loop system by using Lyapunov function. Several experiments with a small model helicopter having parameter variations are performed to show the usefulness of the proposed adaptive fuzzy controller.
