Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of a Progressive Walking program (PW) on physical activity, exercise tolerance, recovery, and post-operative complications for patients with a lung resection. Methods: A nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design was utilized and 37 participants with a lung resection (22 for control group, 15 for experimental group) were recruited at A university hospital from December 2012 to August 2013. The PW consisted of preoperative education, goal setting, and feedback, provided to the experimental group, and usual care to the control group. Data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 18.0. Results: A higher proportion of patients in the experimental group showed adequate levels of physical activity (p=.001), shorter period of chest tube retention (${\leq}7$ days; p=.011), and shorter stay in the hospital (${\leq}10$ days; p=.036) than patients in the control group. Patients in the experimental group reported longer 6-minute walking distance (p=.032) and lower levels of dyspnea (p=.049) than patients in the control group. The PW did not influence the occurrence of pulmonary complications. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that the PW could be a useful strategy for improving patients' post-operative health and reducing cost after lung resection.
The kidney, heart and lung were examined of cats fallen sick lower urinary tract disease(LUTD). There cases typically clinical findings were urinary retention, hematuria, dehydration, cytoplegia and uremia. It is believed that these histopathological and clinical findings resulted from the struvite crystal thrombus in ureter. But we have many factors of an unsolved problem on LUTD. Accordingly, this LUTD demands to process of pathological diposition.

Interventional lung assist (iLA) effectively reduces $CO_2$ retention and allows protective ventilation in cases of life-threatening hypercapnia. Despite the clinical efficacy of iLA, there are a few major limitations associated with the use of this approach, such as bleeding, thrombosis, and catheter-related limb ischemia. We presented two cases in which thrombotic complications developed during iLA. We demonstrated the two possible causes of thrombotic complications during iLA; stasis due to low blood flow and inadequate anticoagulation.
According to the research, the Estern and Western medical literatural records about the causes and symptoms of the heart failure, the results as follows are concluded. 1. The asthma, suceptibility to fright and severe palpitation are generally revealed from the left heart failure. The causes of it are belong to the Yang and Yeum deficiency which are mainly caused by primordial energy deficiency. 2. The symtoms of asthma which are derived from left heart failure are related to the gasping that contain dyspnea, asthma due to the accumulation of phlegm and severe palpitation and related to shortness of breath due to fluid retention (水喘) that make asthma. 3. In the right heart failure, the edema which is derived from the congestion of vein, is revealed as stoppage of main channel that is mainly caused by the Yang or the Yeum deficiency. 4. The edema which is caused by the right heart failure, is mainly related to the symptoms of Yeum type edema, also it is related to the five viscera-fluid, moreover to the heart-fluid (心水), lung-fluid (肺水) and liver-fluid (肝水). 5. In heart failure, the pathologic symptoms which are derived from the stoppage of blood circulation, are phlegm-retention disease (痰飮), diffuse fluid-retention syndrom (溢飮), fluid-retention syndrome characterized by dyspnea and edema (支飮).
Background: Positron emission tomography(PEFT) using fluorine-18 deoxyglucose(FDG), showing increased FDG uptake and retention in malignant cells, has been proven to be useful in differentiating malignant from benign tissues. We indertook the prospective study to compare the accuracy of the whole-body FDG PET with that of the conventional chest computed tomography(CT) for nodal staging of non-small-cell lung cancers(NSCLC). Material and Method: FDG PET and contrast enhanced CT were performed in 36 patients with potentially resectable NSCLC. Each Imaging study was evaluated independently, and nodal stations were localized according to the AJCC regional lymph nodes mapping system. Extensive lymph node dissection(1101 nodes) of ipsi- and contralateral mediastinal nodal stations was performed at thoracotomy and/or mediastinoscopy. Image findings were compared with the histopathologic staging results and were analyzed with the McNema test(p) and Kappa value(k). Result: The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of CT for ipsilateral mediastinal nodal staging were 38%, 68%, 25%, 79%, and 61%, and those of PET were 88%, 71%, 47%, 95%, and 75%(p>0.05, K=0.29). When analyzed by individual nodal group(superior, aortopulmonary window, and inferior), the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of CT were 27%, 82%, 22%, 85%, and 73%, and those of PET were 60%, 87%, 92%, and 82%(p<0.05, k=0.27). Conclusion: FDG PET in addition to CT appears to be superior to CT alone for mediastinal staging of non-small cell lung cancers.
Lavender oil is a prolonged history in ancient medicine and has a wide range of biological effects. The lavender essential oil has 50 different constituents that have different therapeutic significance. The compounds that are separated from essential oil can be used for the anticancer treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. ROS1 is one of the major targets for NSCLC. The compounds from lavender essential oil are separated through GC-MS. From 91 compounds the top compounds that are having high retention values are taken for Molecular docking study against the ROS1 target protein. The binding affinity and the docked pose for those compounds are studied. Later, the chemical reactivity of the compounds is studied by Density Functional Theory. The potent compounds must be validated by in vivo study.
