  • It is difficult to find for analysis solution of the synchronous generator exciter system. Recently, it had good performence UPS converter system using CRA method. The single converter of synchronous generator excitor system under considerations : (i) the overall system shall keep very low AC-voltage tracking error as well as no phase delay over different load condition, and (ii) the digital controller shall be employed at a fixed sampling. It is shown that the synchronous exciter system can be achieved by the proposed controller using Characteristic Ratio Assignment.

수중 센서 네트워크에서 저전력 통신을 위한 변조기법의 적용성 연구 (A Study on The Modulation Method for Low Power Communication in Underwater Sensor Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 PSK(Phase-Shift-Keying) 변조와 PPM(Pulse Position Modulation) 방식의 혼합형이라 볼 수 있는 PSSK(Phase Silence Shift Keying) 변조 방식을 수중 통신에 적용한 결과를 제시한다. 수중 통신 시스템의 성능은 수중 채널 특성에 영향을 많이 받는다. 특히, 잔향 및 다중 경로(Multi-path)로 인한 지연 확산은 데이터 전송 시 인접 심벌간의 간섭 (ISI : Inter Symbol Interference)을 발생시켜 통신의 성능을 저하시킨다. 또한 수중 센서 네트워크인 경우 그 운용 환경의 특수성으로 언해 전력 효율적인 측면도 시스템 구성의 중요한 고려 요소가 된다. PSSK 변조 방식은 2개의 직교 심별을 전송하는 방식으로 한 주기 내에 silence 구조댄 사용함으로써 전력 사용을 절반으로 줄일 수 있다. 이로 인해 변조 심벌간의 거리를 늘려 BER(Bit Error Rate) 성능을 향상 시킬 뿐만 아니라 송신 전력을 낮추어 전력 효율적인 측면의 성능 향상도 기대 할 수 있다. 근거리 해상 실험 결과 QPSK 변조 방식인 경우 BER이 $3.19{\times}10^{-1}$ 이였으며, PSSK 인 경우 BER이 $2.89{\times}10^{-1}$ 이었다.

변압기 소음에 의한 변전소 소음예측 및 저소음 변압기 현장적용 (The Audible Noise Prediction of the Substation due to Transformer Audible Noise and the Field Application of the Low Noise Transformer)

  • Recently, there has been a growing interest in the environmental conservation. Accordingly, problems related to the audible noise of transformers have became more frequent. Therefore, it is urgent to find a fundamental solution about the audible noises in the substations. This paper described a sort of fundamental solution to solve the noise problem. As a fundamental solution, we suggested the proper audible noise level of transformers through noise prediction in the substation construction phase. And we applied the low noise transformers which have the predicted noise level. As the result, we are able to satisfy the noise regulation through measuring 43.6dBA at the boundary of substation. It is confirmed that the average error rate of prediction was within 3 percent.

  • In this paper, the frequency estimator and DFT filter gain compensation for UFR(Under Frequency protection Relay) is introduced. Due to the sudden appearance of generator loads or faults in power system, the frequency is supposed to deviate from its nominal value. Because a frequency calculation is based on phase information, it needs sufficient sampling data to figure out a precious frequency. Therefore the frequency measurement for UFR needs excellent qualities such as high speed and precision with low sampling frequency Authors propose the frequency estimator which compares the vector differences and the DFT filter gain compensation which identifies DFT filter error and correct it. Using the frequency estimator and compensation, UFR which has the 0.01[ms] calculation delay and 0.003[Hz] measurement error is implemented with digital processor.

  • This paper presents a new velocity estimation strategy of a non-salient permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) drive without high frequency signal injection or special PWM pattern. This approach is based on the d-axis current regulator output voltage of the drive system which has the information of rotor position error. The rotor velocity can be estimated through a rotor position tracking PI controller that controls the position error to aero. For zero and low speed operation, the PI gains of rotor position tracking controller have a variable structure. The PI tuning formulas are derived by analyzing this control system using the frequency domain specifications such as phase margin and bandwidth assignment.

Improved Single-Tone Frequency Estimation by Averaging and Weighted Linear Prediction

  • This paper addresses estimating the frequency of a cisoid in the presence of white Gaussian noise, which has numerous applications in communications, radar, sonar, and instrumentation and measurement. Due to the nonlinear nature of the frequency estimation problem, there is threshold effect, that is, large error estimates or outliers will occur at sufficiently low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions. Utilizing the ideas of averaging to increase SNR and weighted linear prediction, an optimal frequency estimator with smaller threshold SNR is developed. Computer simulations are included to compare its mean square error performance with that of the maximum likelihood (ML) estimator, improved weighted phase averager, generalized weighted linear predictor, and single weighted sample correlator as well as Cramer-Rao lower bound. In particular, with smaller computational requirement, the proposed estimator can achieve the same threshold and estimation performance of the ML method.

  • In this paper a DPLL circuit realizable by digital IC's is propose and the principles of general DPLL are described. An all Digital phase locked loop is designed, analyzed, and tested. In particular, the approach of invoking Gaussian assumption on the decision variable and based on S.O.Rices theory is used. As a performance of the above PLL detector operating on low data rate FSK is given and demonsrtated to be FSK reception.

  • The differential pressure method has been used in the level measurement of steam generator in nuclear power plant. Two sensing lines from a steam generator to a pressure transmitter are needed to measure the high pressure and low pressure. The fluid conditions in the sensing line require the uniform phase with no bubbles and the slope of sensing line should be installed with forward slope. The expansion of the bubble volume according to the upper pressure and the reverse slope of sensing lines explain how the level errors took place.

Implementation of 3D Moving Target-Tracking System based on MSE and BPEJTC Algorithms

  • In this paper, a new stereo 3D moving-target tracking system using the MSE (mean square error) and BPEJTC (binary phase extraction joint transform correlator) algorithms is proposed. A moving target is extracted from the sequential input stereo image by applying a region-based MSE algorithm following which, the location coordinates of a moving target in each frame are obtained through correlation between the extracted target image and the input stereo image by using the BPEJTC algorithm. Through several experiments performed with 20 frames of the stereo image pair with $640{\times}480$ pixels, we confirmed that the proposed system is capable of tracking a moving target at a relatively low error ratio of 1.29 % on average at real time.
