In tradition, there have been two kinds of drying methods, which are sun drying and artificial drying. The sun drying method which has been adopted traditionally has been replaced by the hot-air drying method which is one of the most general methods of artificial drying, with its simple drying system, low initial cost of drying plant, and easy operating method. But the hot-air drying method has some defects ; (1)much energy loss happens due to the discharge of hot air during the drying process, (2)control of drying rate is not easy on account of changing relative humidity of inlet air for uniform hot air temperature, (3)high temperature of floods in drying process brings about the production of low-grade drying products. Also, the hot-air drying method is inducing environmental and sanitary problems which are resulting from the emission of high temperature and high humidity air, including stick on the drying progress. Vacuum drying technique, whose drying time and 7uantity of exhausting energy is about 1/3 ~1/4 of hot air drying, is very excellent in the drying efficiency. As the results, it took about 20 hours for material to reach about 18% of the final moisture content in order to store products for a long time, from about 470% of the early moisture content at the beginning of drying, and maximum drying rate comes to about $0.35 kg/m^2hr$ at about 350% of the moisture content.

In order to derive the efficient utilization of low pressure compressed air fogging system, cooling efficiencies with control types were analyzed through cooling experiments in tomato greenhouses. The control types were set up with temperature control, humidity control, temperature and humidity control, and time control. It showed that the cooling effects were 0.7 to $3.3^{\circ}C$ on average and maximum of 4.3 to $7.0^{\circ}C$, the humidification effects were 3.5 to 13.5 % on average and maximum of 14.3 to 24.4 %. Both the cooling and humidification effect were the highest in the time control method. The cooling efficiency of the air fogging system was not high with 8.3 to 27.3 % on average. However, the cooling efficiency of 24.6 to 27.3 % which appears from the time control is similar to the cooling efficiency of high pressure fogging system experimented in Japan. The air fogging system is operated by low pressure, but its efficiency is similar to high pressure. We think because it uses compressed air. From this point of view, we suggest that the air fogging system can get the cooling efficiency of similar levels to that of high pressure fogging system and it will have an advantage from clogging problem of nozzle etc.

Planetary boundary layer height (PBLH), produced by the Local Data Assimilation and Prediction System (LDAPS), was verified using RawinSonde (RS) data obtained from observation at Daegwallyeong (DGW) and Sokcho (SCW) during the International Collaborative Experiments for Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic winter games (ICE-POP 2018). The PBLH was calculated using RS data by applying the bulk Richardson number and the parcel method. This calculated PBLH was then compared to the values produced by LDAPS. The PBLH simulations for DGW and SCW were generally underestimation. However, the PBLH was an overestimation from surface to 200 m and 450 m at DGW and SCW, respectively; this result of model's failure to correctly simulate the Surface Boundary Layer (SBL) and the Mixing Layer (ML) as the PBLH. When the accuracy of the PBLH simulation is low, large errors are seen in the mid- and low-level humidity. The highest frequencies of Planetary boundary layer (PBL) types, calculated by the LDAPS at DGW and SCW, were presented as types Ι and II, respectively. Analysis of meteorological factors according to the PBL types indicate that the PBLH of the existing stratocumulus were overestimated when the mid- and low-level humidity errors were large. If the instabilities of the surface and vertical mixing into clouds are considered important factors affecting the estimation of PBLH into model, then mid- and low-level humidity should also be considered important factors influencing PBLH simulation performance.

Three newly authorized bivoltine silkworm hybrids namely, $CSR2{\times}CSR4$ (productive single hybrid), $(CSR6{\times}CSR26){\times}(CSR2{\times}CSR27)$ (productive double hybrid) and $CSR18{\times}CSR19$ (robust single hybrid) were chosen for the present study. These hybrids were subjected to different temperature and humidity treatments i.e., $25{\pm}$1^{\circ}C and RH $65{\pm}5%$ (control), $30{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, with combinations of low relative humidity (RH $65{\pm}5%$) and high RH ($85{\pm}5%$) at different stages during rearing and spinning of silkworm larvae. The larvae of after 3rd moult were subjected to different thermal and humidity stress till the assessment of cocoon traits. The comparative rearing and reeling performance clearly indicated that the deleterious effect of high temperature and high RH was more pronounced for the majority of traits such as cocoon uniformity, cocoon weight, shell weight, shell percentage, reelability, filament length, raw silk percentage raw silk recovery denier and waste percentage on silk weight than other temperature and RH treatments and this effect was almost similar for all three silkworm hybrids studied. The present investigation clearly indicate that the deleterious effect of high temperature and high RH was more pronounced on rearing and spinning of silkworm larvae than other temperature and RH treatments and similar effect was noticed for all the three silkworm hybrids studied. The cocoon characters can be improved by providing ideal environmental conditions even during spinning stage of larvae affected with high temperature and RH. The study also suggest that high temperature and low humidity has greater effect during rearing stage than spinning stage.
Wooden hollow core flush door is one of the main products of furniture manufacturing and woodworking industries. Warping and buckling of the door is serious problems in service. It has been reported that warping is caused by differences of physical and mechanical properties of face and back of skin panel for the door. This study focused on the prediction of warping and buckling phenomena of the flush door using numerical models. Predictions from the models were also compared with the experimental results obtained from the doors with plywood and hardboard skin panels under various environmental conditions. Three elastic constitutive models, so called elastic beam model, plate model and plate-buckling model, were employed to predict warping and buckling of the doors. It was observed that warping was more pronounced in low humidity condition than in high humidity condition. The plate model considering Poisson's effect was reliable to predict warping more closely than elastic beam model in low humidity condition. The plate-buckling model, however, was the best in the fitting of predictions with the experimental results under high humidity condition because buckling was developed in face and back of skin panel at that condition.

A new method is used to estimate the amount of water evaporation from Class A Pan with higher precision and accuracy. The principle of method is to detect the weight change of a buoyant sinker resulting from a change in water level of Class A Pan. A strain-gauge load cell is used to measure the weight change. Field observation of evaporation was done at Pohang Meteorological Station from June 24 to August 4, 2002. By using this new method, it is possible to measure hourly evaporation accurately even under a strong solar radiation and wind disturbance, enabling a direct comparison of evaporation with other meteorological elements. At night, under low humidity and high wind speed conditions, more evaporation was recorded than during daytime. Maximum evaporation rates observed during this period exceed 1.0 mm/hour under the sunny and windy conditions with low humidity. To understand relationships between meteorological elements and latent heat flux at ground level, we suggest intensive held experiments using high accuracy evaporation recording instruments with hourly time interval.

The purpose of this Study was to determine thermal sensation and physiological responses for men in winter indoor environment, under various air temperature and relative humidity, with male university students. Subjective Evaluation, Heart Rate Variability(HRV), Electroencephalogram(EEG) were examined. We found that comfort of people was achieved at 50% R.H., 24$^{\circ}C$, and the difference of skin temperature was found at the calf area as air temperature changes. At low air temperature and low humidity, heart rate was decreased, but there was no change at brain wave, keeping ${\alpha}$-wave.
The vegetation pattern of Mt. Odae based on the soil humidity gradient showed 3 types: (1) the forest of Pinus densiflora under the mesic or xeric conditions of the low altitudinal area, (2) the forest of Acer including A. mono, A. pseudo-sieboldianum and Tilia amurensis under the submesic or subxeric conditions and (3) the forest of Quercus including Q. mongolica of the higher elevational area and Q. variabilis of the lower elevational area under the xeric condition. Water content, organic matter and total nitrogen of soil were relatively low in Pinus densiflora and Quercus variabilis communities while they were relatively high in Betula platyphylla var. japonica and Quercus mongolica communities. According to the result of cluster analysis based on similarity indices of the communities, the proposed successional sere in the forest vegetation of Mt. Odae was as follows. P. densiflora community $\longrightarrow$ P. densiflore + Q. mongolica community $\longrightarrow$ Q. mongolica + A. pseudo-sieboldianum community. P. densiflora community $\longrightarrow$ P. densiflora + Q. variabilis community $\longrightarrow$ Q. variabilis community $\longrightarrow$ Q. mongolica + Q. variabilis community $\longrightarrow$ Q. mongolica + A. pseudo-sieboldianum community.

Recently, the humidity adjustment of indoor air is of great importance in air conditioning system as a applied, in buildings, vehicles, and containers for storage and transport of perishable products. Membrane dehumidification or air is potentially attractive because it offers low capital and operating costs, along with low energy consumption. And membrane dehumidification process attracted the attention of the public instead of the other dehumidification processes, such as adsorption, absorption, and refrigeration cycles and so on. In this study, the prepared hydrophilic inorganic membrane-based dehumidifiers(membrane air dehumidification) examined the performance of dehumidification. The surface-modified inorganic membrane prepared in this study showed high dehumidification efficiency(over 80%). The membrane might be very useful for dehumidification industries.
High temperature polymer electrolyte membranes incorporating ionic liquids (ILs) in different polymers such as commercial fluorinated polymers, sulfonated polymers and recasted nafion have been developed. ILs based on imidazolium cation and different anions possess high ionic conductivity and good thermal stability and have been used in the present study. The membranes containing IL show conductivity ${\sim}10^{-2}S\;cm^{-1}$ above $100^{\circ}C$ under anhydrous conditions and are thermally stable up to $250-300^{\circ}C$. IL acts as a conducting medium in these electrolytes and plays the same role as played by water in fully hydrated nafion membranes. Due to high conductivity and good thermal stability, these membranes are promising materials for PEFCs at higher temperatures under anhydrous conditions.
