  • In this paper, we study cyclic codes detecting a subclass of close-closed loop bursts viz. low-density close-closed loop bursts. A subclass of CT close-closed loop berets called CT low-density close-closed loop bursts is also studied.

  • Low cycle fatigue tests are performed on the Inconel 617 that be used for a hot gas casing. The relation between strain energy density and numbers of cycles to failure is examined in order to predict the low cycle fatigue life of Inconel 617. The life predicted by the strain energy method is found to coincide with experimental data and results obtained from the Coffin-Manson method. Also the cyclic behavior of Inconel 617 is characterized by cyclic hardening with increasing number of cycle at room temperature.

STS 304 압연강의 저주기 피로특성에 관한 연구 (A Characteristic Study of Low Cycle Fatigue for Rolled STS 304 Steel)

  • In this study, low cyclic fatigue test was carried out at room temperature condition for rolled STS304 steel. The results of this study show that rolled STS304 steel has excellent static tensile strength and fatigue characteristics. The relationship between plastic strain range and fatigue life was examined using the triangular wave in order to predict the low cycle fatigue life of rolled STS304 steel by Coffin-Manson equation. Cyclic behavior of rolled STS304 steel was characterized by cyclic hardening with increasing number of cycle through the Hysteresis loop analysis and cyclic response of maximum stress versus number of cycles. It is found that the plastic deformation energy consumed per cycle is reduced by calculating the area of the hysteresis loop.

Nondestructive Evaluation of Temporarily Repaired CFRP Laminates Subjected to Delaminations due to Localized Heating and Cyclic Loading Combined

  • The reliability of cold-bonding repair technique of carbon-fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) laminates, often used as a temporary repair for the airplane maintenance, has been evaluated during cyclic loading and localized heating by nondestructive methods. Major concern was given to the evolution of damage after repair in the form of delaminations due to localized heating and cyclic loading combined. An area of interest both on the specimen repaired by cold-bonding and the specimen without repair where delaminations were induced by localized heating and cyclic loading was monitored by acoustic emission (AE) testing and further examined by pitch-catch low-frequency bond testing, and pulse-echo high-frequency ultrasonic testing. The results showed that the reliability of cold-bonding repair would be significantly reduced by the localized heating and cyclic loading combined rather than by the cyclic loading only. AE monitoring appeared to be an effective and reliable tool to monitor the integrity of temporarily repaired CFRP laminates in terms of the structural health monitoring (SHM) philosophy.

  • 본 논문은 LED-ID 시스템에서 채널 차단에 따른 성능 열화를 줄이기 위한 저 상관(Low correlation) 순환 지연 기법에 대해서 연구하였다. LED-ID 시스템은 가시광을 기반으로 하여 데이터를 송수신 한다. 하지만 빛의 직진성 때문에 실내 구조, 환경에 따라 채널 단절이 발생한다. 채널 단절에 의해 발생하는 데이터 손상과 빛을 연속적으로 차단하여 발생하는 연집오류로 인하여 LED-ID 시스템의 성능을 저하시키게 된다. 제안 시스템은 데이터들 간의 낮은 상관관계를 이용하여 빛을 연속적으로 차단하여 발생하는 연집오류에 대한 문제점을 해결하고 순환 지연 기법을 이용하여 시간 다이버시티 이득을 극대화 하여 성능을 향상 시켰다. 시뮬레이션 파라미터에 따라 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 시스템의 성능을 산출 하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 제안 시스템이 기존 시스템과 일정한 시간 지연을 통한 순환 지연 기법보다 성능이 우수함을 확인 할 수 있다.

주조 및 압출가공된 SiC입자강화 알루미늄복합재의 피로거동 및 피로수명에 대한 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Cyclic Behavior and Fatigue Life of Cast and Extruded SiC -Particulate - Reinforced Al-Si Composites)

  • The low-cycle fatigue behaviors of cast AI-Si alloy and composite with reinforcement of SIC particles were compared with those of extruded unreinforced matrix alloy and composite in order to investigate the influence of cast and extrusion processes on the cyclic deformation and fatigue life. Generally, both cast and extruded composites including the unreinforced alloy exhibited cyclic hardening behaviour, with more pronounced strain-hardening for the composites with a higher volume fraction of the SiC particles. However, cast composite under a low applied cyclic strain showing no observable plastic strain exhibited cyclic softening behavior due to the cast porosities. The elastic modulus and yield strength of the cast composite were found to be quite comparable to those of the extruded composite, however, the extrusion process considerably improved the ductility and fracture strength of the composite by effectively eliminating the cast porosities. Low-cycle fatigue lives of the cast alloy and composite were shorter than those of the extruded counterparts. Large difference in life between cast and extruded composites was attributed to the higher influence of the cast porosities on the fatigue life of the composite than that of the unreinforced alloy material. A fatigue damage parameter using strain energy density effectively represented the inferior life in the low-cycle regime and superior life in the high-cycle regime for the composite, compared to the unreinforced alloy.

  • 저주기 피로에 있어서 초기단계의 응력진폭 거동에 미치는 평균변형의 영향을 정량적으로 검토하였다. 그 결과 평균변형이 압축상태인 경우는 반복수의 증가에 따라 반복변형지수 n'와 반복변형계수 C'는 감소하였으며 평균변형이 0%와 인장상태인 경우는 그 반대였다. 또한 동적인 항복강도 $\delta_(yc)$는 평균변형이나 반복변형에 관계없이 일정하였다.

  • This study investigated deformation behavior of major nuclear structural materials under cyclic loading conditions via cyclic stress-strain test. The cyclic stress-strain tests were conducted on SA312 TP316 stainless steel and SA508 Gr.3 Cl.1 low-alloy steel, which are used as materials for primary piping and reactor pressure vessel nozzle respectively, under cyclic load with constant strain amplitude and constant load amplitude at room temperature (RT) and $316^{\circ}C$. From the results of tests, the cyclic hardening and softening behavior, stabilized cyclic stress-strain behavior, and ratcheting behavior of both materials were investigated at both RT and $316^{\circ}C$. In addition, appropriate considerations for cyclic deformation behavior in the structural integrity evaluation of major nuclear components under excessive seismic condition were discussed.

Design of Non-Binary Quasi-Cyclic LDPC Codes Based on Multiplicative Groups and Euclidean Geometries

  • This paper presents an approach to the construction of non-binary quasi-cyclic (QC) low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes based on multiplicative groups over one Galois field GF(q) and Euclidean geometries over another Galois field GF($2^S$). Codes of this class are shown to be regular with girth $6{\leq}g{\leq}18$ and have low densities. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed codes perform very wel with the iterative decoding.
