Human Detection and Fuzzy Temperature Control System for Energy Reduction of Cooling Device in Elevator (승강기용 냉각장치의 에너지 절감을 위한 사람 검출과 퍼지 온도 제어 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose human detection and fuzzy temperature control system for energy reduction of cooling device in elevator. In order to improve problems of existing cooling device using the refrigerant, energy reduction and efficient management are continuously achieved because of operation of thermoelectric cooling device using the human detection and fuzzy temperature control system. The proposed system confirms the number of passengers in elevator and temperature is then controlled by those numbers and an average temperature for the season in fuzzy system. The human detection method scans the number of passengers using a head part as a feature based on bird's-eye view camera in elevator. The fuzzy system determines elevator internal temperature considering atmospheric temperature and the scanned passenger numbers as a look-up table. The proposed system reduces energy of the cooling device through the human detection and temperature control. In experiment, energy reduction is confirmed and the performance of the proposed system is verified.

Efficient Generation of 3-D Video Holograms Using Temporal-Spatial Redundancy of 3-D Moving Images (3차원 동영상의 시ㆍ공간적 정보 중복성을 이용한 효과적인 3차원 비디오 홀로그램의 생성)

  • In this paper, a new method to efficiently generate the 3-D(three-dimensional) video holograms for 3-D moving scenes, which is called here the TSR-N-LUT method, is proposed by the combined use of temporal-spatial redundancy(TSR) of 3-D video images and novel look-up table(N-LUT) technique. That is, in the proposed scheme, with the differential pulse code modulation (DPCM) algorithm, temporally redundancy redundant data in the inter-frame of a 3-D video images are removed between the frames, and then inter-line redundant data in the inter-frame of 3-D video images are also removed by using the DPCM method between the lines. Experimental results show that the proposed method could reduced the number of calculated object points and the calculation time of one object point by 23.72% and 19.55%, respectively on the average compared to the conventional method. Good experimental results with 3-D test moving pictures finally confirmed the feasibility of the proposed method to the fast generation of CGH patterns of the 3-D video images.

  • In this study, Multi-Values Logic processor was designed using the basic circuit of the electric current mode CMOS. First of all, binary FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) was extended and high-speed Multi-Valued Logic processor was constructed using a multi-valued logic circuit. Compared with the existing two-valued FFT, the FFT operation can reduce the number of transistors significantly and show the simplicity of the circuit. Moreover, for the construction of amount was used inside the FFT circuit with the set of redundant numbers like [0,1,2,3]. As a result, the defects in lines were reduced and it turned out to be effective in the aspect of normality an regularity when it was used designing VLSI(Very Large Scale Integration). To multiply FFT, the time and size of the operation was used as LUT(Look Up Table) Finally, for the compatibility with the binary system, multiple-valued hybrid-type FFT processor was proposed and designed using binary-four valued encoder, four-binary valued decoder, and the electric current mode CMOS circuit.

Digital Position Measurement with MLPE of PET detector using a Small Number of Photosensors (적은 수의 광센서를 사용한 PET 검출기의 최대우도함수를 적용한 디지털 위치 측정)

  • A detector using a small number of photosensors was designed, and the position of a scintillation pixel that interacted with gamma rays through a maximum likelihood position estimation(MLPE) was measured as a digital position. For this purpose, simulation was performed using DETECT2000, which can simulate the movement of light within the scintillator, and the accuracy of position measurement was evaluated. A detector was configured using a 6 × 6 scintillation pixel array and 4 photosensors, and a gamma ray event was generated at the center of each scintillation pixel to create a look-up table through the ratio of acquired light. The gamma-ray event generated at the new position was applied as the input value of the MLPE, and the positiion of the scintillation pixel was converted into a digital positiion after comparison with the look-up table. All scintillation pixels were evaluated, and as a result, a high accuracy of 99.1% was obtained. When this method is applied to the currently usesd system, it is concidered that the process of determining the position of the scintillation pixel will be simplified.

A Simplified Pre-processing Method for Efficient Video Noise Reduction (효과적인 영상 잡음 제거를 위한 간략한 전처리 방법)

  • Since various noises degrade not only image quality but also compression efficiency in MPEG and H.263, pre-processing is necessary to reduce spatial and temporal noise and to increase ceding efficiency as well. In this paper, we propose a simplified method for noise detection, spatial and temporal noise reduction. Noise detection is based on correlation of the current pixel with its neighboring 4 pixels. Spatial noose reduction utilizes a non-rectangular median filter that is less complex than the conventional rectangular median filter. The proposed temporal filter is an IIR average filter using LUT(Look-up Table) to enhance subjective video quality. The proposed pre-processing method is very simple and efficient.

  • A common requirement in digital communication systems is the generation of prescribed shape. The purpose of this paper is implement an efficient digital waveform filter by using the look-up table in the RDS(Radio Data System) encoder. And it has been shown that transmitted data can be recovered without an error. In order to implement an efficient waveform filter, the control algorithm is designed. For the purpose of composing an IC, the digital waveform filter is implemented by using the discrete elements. Moreover in this paper it has been proved that the proposed digital waveform filter can be applied to the RDS encoder.

  • The multibeam surveillance radar is a state-of art of 3D radar technology. It applies the stacked beam-on-received realized by a digital beamformer. In this paper, a design concept of beamformer and a method of target altitude extraction for multibeam surveillance radar in the normal environmental condition considering no multipath situations are proposed and investigated. The extraction algorithm based on antenna sine space coordinated system in a FFT digital beamformer is described. The proposed algorithm is simulated by 1 look-up table data and confirmed to have consistent results in accordance with a variety of target altitudes and a full radar frequency range.

  • 본 논문에서는 OFDM 시스템의 송신기에서 사용되는 선형 필터와 고출력 증폭기의 결합에 의한 \"기억성을 갖는 비선형 왜곡\"을 실제 하드웨어 구현에 적합하게 적은 계산량으로 보상할 수 있는 참조 테이블(look up table; LUT) 기반의 사전왜곡기를 제안한다. LUT를 이용하는 사전왜곡기들은 이미 많이 연구되었으나, 본 논문에서는 다중 입력/단일 출력 형태의 기억성을 갖는 비선형 왜곡을 작은 크기의 LUT를 이용하여 효율적으로 보상한다는 점에서 큰 차이가 있다. 제안 방법에서는 먼저 기억성이 없는 고출력 증폭기만이 존재할 때의 사전왜곡기를 우리가 이미 제안한 고정점 반복 사전왜곡기 알고리즘에 기반하여 LUT로 구현하고, 여기에 선형 역 시스템을 결합하여 기억성을 갖는 비선형 왜곡을 보상한다. 실제 구현 가능성 검토를 위해 제안된 사전왜곡기와 16-QAM, 256-IFFT/FFT OFDM 시스템 기저대역 모뎀을 TMS320C30 DSP를 이용하여 구현하였으며, 실험 결과 작은 크기의 LUT를 이용하여도 원래의 고정점 반복 사전왜곡기에 비해 매우 적은 계산량을 요구하면서 동일한 성능을 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다.있음을 확인하였다.

  • This paper aims to design Game Rendering Engine for real-time 3D online games. Previous, in order to raise rendering speed, BSP tree was used to partitioned space in Quake Game Engine. A game engine is required to develop for rapidly escalating of 3D online games in Korea. too. Currently rendering time is saved with the hardware accelerator which is working on the high-level computer system. On the other hand, a game engine is needed to save rendering time for users with low-level computer system. Therefore, a game rendering engine is which reduces rendering time by PVS look-up table using Empty space BSP tree designed and implemented in this paper

  • Since frequent item extraction so far requires searching for patterns and traversal for the FP-Tree, it is more likely to store the mining data in a tree and thus CPU time is required for its searching. In order to overcome these drawbacks, in this paper, we provide each item with its location identification of transaction data without relying on conditional FP-Tree and convert transaction data into 2-dimensional position information look-up table, resulting in the facilitation of time and spatial accessibility. We propose an algorithm that considers the mapping scheme between the location of items and items that guarantees the linear time complexity. Experimental results show that the proposed method can reduce many execution time and memory usage based on the data set obtained from the FIMI repository website.
