Fuel Consumption Prediction and Life Cycle History Management System Using Historical Data of Agricultural Machinery

  • This study intends to link agricultural machine history data with related organizations or collect them through IoT sensors, receive input from agricultural machine users and managers, and analyze them through AI algorithms. Through this, the goal is to track and manage the history data throughout all stages of production, purchase, operation, and disposal of agricultural machinery. First, LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) is used to estimate oil consumption and recommend maintenance from historical data of agricultural machines such as tractors and combines, and C-LSTM (Convolution Long Short-Term Memory) is used to diagnose and determine failures. Memory) to build a deep learning algorithm. Second, in order to collect historical data of agricultural machinery, IoT sensors including GPS module, gyro sensor, acceleration sensor, and temperature and humidity sensor are attached to agricultural machinery to automatically collect data. Third, event-type data such as agricultural machine production, purchase, and disposal are automatically collected from related organizations to design an interface that can integrate the entire life cycle history data and collect data through this.

Establishment of Conditions for Long-Term Maintenance of Primary Embryonic Cell Cultures from Olive Flounder Paralichthys olivaceus

  • Primary cell culture is a sufficient method frequently used to study the cellular properties and mechanisms of isolated cells in a controlled environment. In this study, an embryonic cell line (FGBC8) derived from the blastula stages of embryos of olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus was developed. Furthermore, conditions for optimal long-term maintenance of this primary embryonic cell culture were investigated. Morphologically, FGBC8 cells were composed primarily of epithelial-like cells. FGBC8 cells were subcultured for >160 passages over ~830 days. The doubling time of FGBC8 cells was 73.8 h, and the modal diploid chromosome number was 48. FGBC8 cells transfected with green fluorescence protein (GFP)-expression plasmid exhibited a strong signal 48 h after transfection. Consequently, we demonstrated that fish serum is a crucial supplement for the long-term survival and maintenance of comparable morphology in these primary embryonic cells. Our results can be used as a guide for primary embryonic cell cultures for other fish species and may be useful for cell biotechnological applications.

  • From 1960, the government decided to build apartment houses on a large scale in order to resolve the rising housing problems. However, the maintenance issues that have arisen from the deterioration of housing has not received adequate attention. The policy focuses only on the supply of housing. By passing new laws, the durable period during which buildings allowed reconstruction was increased, and long term maintenance plans were treated as important issues. The government was then obligated to establish certain long term maintenance plans and costs by legislating a Housing Act and requiring it be adjusted every three years. However, when planning long-term repair costs, doing so without considering the time value of money would become a problem. In addition, if differences between the planned repair costs and actual costs occur, it becomes necessary to adjust the long-term repair costs but, as of yet, the criteria to adjust such things does not exist. For these reasons, if there is lack of money to execute large-scale repair work, a building is unlikely to respond to deterioration of housing; on the other hand, an unnecessary reserve or pool of money can lead to conflict among residents. Therefore, this paper will propose estimation and adjustment models considering the time value of money for long term maintenance costs of apartment houses.

  • The environment which has been destroyed for the national growth since 1960's would seem to offer infinite resources to human, but now, the existence of human being is threatened by the development thoughtless for the environment. The World Powers have concentrated on green growth with eco-friendly resource since the end of 20th century. Korea suggested that the vision was the low carbon for green growth in 2008. It is necessary to supply Long-Life Housing in the green technology in terms of the sustainable housing development based on various life style, life cycle of the residences, the restrain remodeling and redevelopment in construction. This study is aim to establish the development of maintenance process to make continuous inhabitation of Long-Life Housing that has the separated SI for maintenance, durability, variability and remodeling. The maintenance for Long-Life Housing is very important to have more than 50~70 years the long term of life cycle in comparison with Housing. Also, the roles of manager and user are important parts in Long-Life Housing. The present maintenance for Housing is shift and repair works by the routine maintenance and demage. However, The maintenance for Long-Life Housing should consider movement and flexibility. In addition, Long-Life Housing requires the proper process of maintenance because it is different from Housing in housing concept, design and constructions stage. Therefore this study shows the efficient maintenance process for Long-Life Housing.

Long-term health monitoring for deteriorated bridge structures based on Copula theory

  • Maintenance of deteriorated bridge structures has always been one of the challenging issues in developing countries as it is directly related to daily life of people including trade and economy. An effective maintenance strategy is highly dependent on timely inspections on the bridge health condition. This study is intended to investigate an approach for detecting bridge damage for the long-term health monitoring by use of copula theory. Long-term measured data for the seven-span plate-Gerber bridge is investigated. Autoregressive time series models constructed for the observed accelerations taken from the bridge are utilized for the computation of damage indicator for the bridge. The copula model is used to analyze the statistical changes associated with the modal parameters. The changes in the modal parameters with the time are identified by the copula statistical properties. Applicability of the proposed method is also discussed based on a comparison study among other approaches.

Approach to Simulation of Long- and Short-Term Maintenance Planning in Floating Offshore Wind Farms (부유식 해상풍력단지의 장/단기 정비계획 시뮬레이션)

  • Operations and maintenance (O&M) in offshore wind farms accounts for a substantial portion of the life cycle cost due to harsh weather conditions and vessel dispatching. In this regard, it is crucial to expedite O&M technologies in South Korea, which is in the early stage of harnessing wind resources from the ocean. This contribution investigates an O&M planning and scheduling model for floating offshore wind farms with a literature review and use case study. We introduce the development of a long- and short-term maintenance planning framework as part of an integrated O&M platform. This contains a single vessel and fleets routing composition along with technicians and a maintenance job list based on numerical algorithms. Additionally, the routing search presents the basis of decision support for economic trade-offs regarding smooth operation corresponding to ever-changing wind farm situations. The maintenance planning simulator will ultimately contribute to support yearly and day-to-day power-related decisions in a cost-effective manner.

  • Road pavement requires repetitive maintenance works to maintain satisfactory service level to the public. However, the repetitive maintenance works upon deteriorated pavement structure make negative effects to deterioration speed. It often leads to inefficient use of limited budget. For that reason, the pavements require reconstruction work to recover their original performance. Recently, construction demands in the Korean national highway have already been reached to maximum level, and the aged pavements start to demand much more reconstruction works. However, in the real world, road agencies have often been confused when they determine maintenance design for such aged road sections due to budget constraint. It is because there is no reliable long-term maintenance strategy that supports their decision making. To support their decision making, this paper aimed to suggest the best maintenance strategy considering changing process of pavement performance by repetitive maintenance works. As an analysis method, probability distribution and hazard function to estimate the life expectancy were adopted, and then the results were used for long-term life cycle cost analysis with deterministic or Monte-Carlo method under various scenarios. As an empirical study, the Korean national highway data that has long-maintenance history data since 1986 has been applied. Last, this paper considered quality assurance of maintenance work to improve maintenance quality. These could be important information as a part of long-term maintenance strategy of pavement.

Study of the Long-Term Behavior Characteristics of Roadbed on Concrete Track of High-speed Railway (고속철도 콘크리트 궤도상 토공노반의 장기거동 특성 연구)

  • This study examined the long-term behavior of a roadbed using high-speed railway concrete track and roadbed measurement data and evaluated the long-term performance of the track and roadbed. Recently, high-speed railway track type has been adopted as a concrete slab. On the other hand, the concrete track is vulnerable to roadbed settlement. In the case of gravel tracks, it is easy to restore the original state by maintenance even if the roadbed settles. On the other hand, in the case of the concrete track, if excessive settlement of the roadbed occurs, cracks are generated continuously on the slabs and sleepers, resulting in greatly reduced usability. For this reason, it is difficult to restore the original state only by partial maintenance. In this paper, a long-term performance evaluation was carried out on a concrete track during operation by monitoring the measurement data of sensors buried from the beginning of construction for approximately 3 years after the high-speed railway opened. Performance evaluation methods include a performance evaluation of track/roadbed when the train passes, long-term track and roadbed performance evaluation, analysis of the track/roadbed effect on long-term settlement and analysis of the factors influencing long-term settlement. The trail response of KTX-Sancheon was greatest in the track/roadbed performance evaluation by train. The results of the long-term track and roadbed performance evaluation were measured within the standard values. The track and roadbed performance impact assessment with long-term settlement was strongly related to TCL settlement. The influences of the water content and groundwater level were verified by analyzing the external factors of long-term settlement. Through such a method, the stability of a track/roadbed can be secured.

Determining Major Items of Scheduled Maintenance for Apartment through Case Data: Focused on Improving the Establishment Standard for Long-term Repair Program (사례 데이터 분석을 통한 공동주택 계획수선 주요 항목 도출: 법령 상의 장기수선계획 수립기준 현실화를 중심으로)

  • The long-term repair program is significant as the execution standard for apartment in repair construction, and provides the basis for effective facility management through appropriation reserve and preventive maintenance. Considering its importance, the government legislates the items, cycle, and ratio for long-term repair. However, the frequent changes, controversies on repair, and difficulties in using appropriation reserve are caused as the items have not been revised on time reflecting up-to-date construction technologies. In order to resolve these problems, it is required to improve the standard by evaluating the appropriateness of repair items throughout the analysis of actual conditions. This study aims to suggest the revision plan for the criteria with the major items based on the status identified by the actual long-term repair programs and historical repair construction data. To do this, the adoption ratios of items to program are reviewed by collecting the real cases of the long-term repair programs. Developing improvement plan was approached in two ways such as "exclusion method" deleting minimum unnecessary items and "selection method" sorting out items with high adoption ratio and evidence of repair in a positive manner. Aa a result, the major items were identified as 118 items and 73 items by exclusion method and selection method respectively from the current 147 items. The outcomes of this study are expected to contribute enhancing the practicality of the standard in that the regulation for long-term repair program should periodically reflect the status of currently applied construction methods and materials.

A Study on the Characteristics of Z-Trap and Improvement of Maintenance Ability in the Sewage Bay (오수받이 내 Z-트랩 특성 및 유지관리 능력 향상에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a new sewage bay that has removed its previous problems and verify the excellence of the maintainability of the new sewage bay. Method: The fluid characteristics in the developed sewage bay was analysed with computer simulation tool(COMSOL MultiphysicsTM ver. 3.2 ; COMSOL) and clarified the problems of the existing sewage bay. In addition, the durability of the newly developed sewage bay was verified by the long-term usability testing. Results: As a result of the simulation of a blocked drainage trap, an whirlpool and blockage did not occurred at the flow rate of 0.6m/sec, and we verified that switch device of drain trap was in good condition durably with 6 months long-term usability test. Conclusion: In this study, a newly advanced sewage bay was developed that solved the problems of the existing sewage bay structure. With the fluid simulation and the long-term usability tests, the excellence of the maintenance ability of the newly developed sewage bay was proved.
