Objective : This study was done to observe the effects on the thermal changes of herbal acupuncture. There were remarkable local thermal changes between pre and post herbal acupuncture therapy on D.I.T.I. or not. If there are those, we examine how long changes of those were maintained, what is the adequate interval on herbal acupuncture therapy. Methods : D.I.T.I, was used to study the local thermal changes in herbal acupuncture therapy. Determination of this analysis periods are pre and post-therapy(1hour, 1day, 7days later). The study group was divided into six groups that are NS group(No.=20), CF group(No.=22), BU group(No.=23), BUM group(No.=19), HP group(No.=20) and BV group(No.=l9). The herbal acupuncture was injected by 0.2ml divided into 0.05ml at the Fengmen(風門: B12), Feishu(肺兪: B13), Fufen(附分: B41), Pohu(魄戶: B42) 4 points. Then, we checked the thermal changes of their point after performing. Results : The following results were obtained ; 1. In CF groups, significant dermatothermal difference between pre and post therapy was not checked, In BU group that continued until post-therapy 1day, in HP group until 1hour, in BV group until 2days. In BUM, HP and BV group, Most dermatothermal difference was checked at post-therapy 1hour, in BU group at post-therapy 1day. 2. At post-therapy 1 hour, significant dermatothermal different between pre and post therapy was checked among BU group, BUM group, HP group and BV group. At post-therapy 1day and 2days, checked among BU group, BUM group and BV group. At post-therapy 7days, not checked among all groups. The group that highest dermatothermal difference were checked is BV group.
This study was conducted to evaluate changes in food consumption during the 1950's on the basis of articles that reflected national policy and changes in society during that time period. Many factors are involved in the development and changes in food consumption culture, and these factors can affect each other. As a result, the process involved in the development of food consumption culture acts as a living system. This study evaluated the food consumption culture during the 1950's because this period was subjected to obvious influences that may explain the modern food consumption market logic and commercialism. Changes in the national food consumption are dependent on natural changes such as income enlargement or cultural exchange with a foreign country. Accordingly, food consumption during the 1950's was influenced by changes in economical, social, and political needs. In addition, the influx of surplus agricultural products from the United States had an adverse effect on local agriculture and resulted in an increased external dependence on food during the 1950s. Moreover, the import of raw materials and simple manufacturing techniques led to the development of an industrial food processing industry that enabled accelerated mass production of food at a low-price. Furthermore, the importation of surplus agricultural products from the United States that were used as the raw materials for foods that had traditionally been produced domestically led to an increased burden and qualitative decline in the local food-service industry. Taken together, the results of this study indicate that during the 1950's fresh food began to be replaced with processed foods in Korea.
To investigate the acupuncturing function of $ST_{36}$(足三里) on the gastric activity, four different treatment methods such as intact, local anesthesia, ligation and nerve dissection were implemented. Followings are the results from the present study. 1. When a simple acupuncture with intact, the stomach motility and frequency were increased without significance compared with control. 2. Under local anesthesia on femoral region, the stomach motility and frequency showed no such changes compared with control. 3. With ligation of femoral region, the stomach motility and frequency were decreased significantly compared with control. 4. When the siatic nerve was dissected, the stomach motility and frequency showed no such changes compared with control. Overall, the effect of acupuncture on the $ST_{36}$(足三里) was very closely related with the condition of surrounding area. It is assumed that further studies should be done for the investigation of mechanism behind the acupuncturing function in conjunction with the nervous system.
The objective of this investigation is to examine the influence of the micro catheters, which mimic the intravascular micro active endoscopes, on local pressure changes and flow rate in an arterial branch model similar to the femoral artery of human. The effects of branch to main lumen flow rate ratios and the locations of a catheter tip were found to be significant on the local pressure changes. Relatively large pressure drops and an increase in shear stress due to the obstruction effects may induce an endothelial cell damage and a change in arterial wall permeability, which have been reported to be the primary cause of the initiation of the atherosclerosis and other major vascular diseases.
This Study aims to demonstrate how much flood vulnerability in urban area changed for the past 32 years by using the panel model. At the same time, this study strives to determine the primary factors and to construct an effective counter-plan by means of empirical research. After selecting research hypotheses based on considerations of issues concerning causes for urban flooding, their relevance is put to the test by conducting empirical research in individual case locations. This research verifies the four research hypotheses by using one-way error component regression model. In conclusion, this research has shown that urban land use and local characteristics act as significant flood determinants, with forests acting to reduce flood dangers. Moreover, constructing embankments can no longer represent a reliable flood control policy. The changes in future flood control policies need to incorporate local characteristics and to minimize natural destruction, so that humans and nature can coexist through environmentally friendly flood management policies.
This paper presents a neural network method for tuning PlD controller of a time-varying process. Three gains of PlD controller are tuned for a certain desirable response pattern by back-propagation neural network. The neural network is trained using changes of output features vs. changes of PlD gains. But sometimes it needs longer training time and larger structure to train the correlation between the process and controller on entire region of the process. The difficulty in system identification is that the inverse function of the system can not be clearly stated. To cope with the problem, we do not train the neural network to respond correctly for the entire regions but train for only local region where the system is heading toward by training the neural network and tuning of the PlD controller. It may be trained for fine-tuning itself. Simulation results show that the adaptive PID controller using neural network trained in the local area performs remarkably for time-varying second order process.

The sensitivity of transonic flow past a Whitcomb airfoil to deflections of an aileron is studied at free-stream Mach numbers from 0.81 to 0.86 and vanishing or negative angles of attack. Solutions of the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations are obtained with a finite-volume solver using the $k-{\omega}$ SST turbulence model. The numerical study demonstrates the existence of narrow bands of the Mach number and aileron deflection angles that admit abrupt changes of the lift coefficient at small perturbations. In addition, computations reveal free-stream conditions in which the lift coefficient is independent of aileron deflections of up to 5 degrees. The anomalous behavior of the lift is explained by interplay of local supersonic regions on the airfoil. Both stationary and impulse changes of the aileron position are considered.
Functional MRI (fMRI) provides an indirect mapping of cerebral activity, based on the detection of the local blood flow and oxygenation changes following neuronal activity (Blood Oxygenation Level Dependent). fMRI allows us to study noninvasively the normal and pathological aspects of functional cortical organization. Each fMRI study compares two different states of activity. Echo-Planar Imaging is the technique that makes it possible to study the whole brain at a rapid pace. Activation maps are calculated from a statistical analysis of the local signal changes. fMRI is now becoming an essential tool in the neurofunctional evaluation of normal volunteers and many neurological patients as well as the reference method to image normal or pathologic functional brain organization.

Visual tracking is a challenging task that needs learning an effective model to handle the changes of target appearance caused by factors such as pose variation, illumination change, occlusion and motion blur. In this paper, a novel tracking algorithm based on weighted local sub-space reconstruction error is presented. First, accounting for the appearance changes in the tracking process, a generative weight calculation method based on structural reconstruction error is proposed. Furthermore, a template update scheme of occlusion-aware is introduced, in which we reconstruct a new template instead of simply exploiting the best observation for template update. The effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed algorithm are verified by comparing it with some state-of-the-art algorithms quantitatively and qualitatively.
