A 29-year-old male patient was referred to Dept. of Dentistry due to halitosis and food impaction, who had been diagnosed as progressive systemic sclerosis at Dept. of Dermatology, SNUH. Oromaxillofacially lips were slightly thin, rigid and shiny. Pale gingiva and pinched nose were found also. Radiographically, uniform extreme widening of periodontal ligament space was found.

Impetigo is a superficialis and purulent dermal infection spread by contact. It is a common disease among children in summer. A nine-month-old male infant visited our clinic because of vesicles and pustulae around his eyes, lips and chest. We diagnosed impetigo and treated him with herbal medication Sunbanghwalmyung-eum and aromatherapy using tea-tree. He recovered by way of treatment for a period of one week and he is in favorable condition now.

Pulmonary arteriovenous fistula is a rare congenital vascular malformation resulting from abnormal capillary development with incomplete formation of vascular septum normally dividing the primitive connections between the venous and arterial plexuses. Recently we have experienced a case of the bilateral pulmonary arteriovenous fistula in 7 years-old female patient. On admission, clinical manifestations were cyanosis of lips, clubbing and cyanosis of digits, and exertional dyspnea. The PO2 in arterial blood gas analysis was 43.3mmHg. In left upper and right lower lobe pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas were confirmed by bilateral pulmonary angiography. Left upper lobectomy and wedge resection of right lower lobe were performed respectively. Postoperative results were good.

In this paper a detailed description of collecting Korean audio-video speech data is presented. The main aim of this experiment is to collect some audio-video materials which can be used for later experiments to estimate and model the actions of the visible human articulatory organs such as mouth, lips and jaw. We collect audio-video data from seven directions separately. Twelve markers are used to trace the movements.

In a harbor seal in captivity from the Yellow sea of Korea, alopecia began on flippers and tail, and spread to ventral part of abdomen and dorsal part of body in order. Multiples coalesced, and well-circumscribed lesions such as patches and maculas appeared on foreflipper, hind flipper, perianus, ventral part of tail, lips, and some parts of trunk were appeared in. Phialophora richardsiae, Gemella morbillorum, and coagulate-negative etaphyococci were isolated from Besions and hairs. After treatment with internal and external ketoconazole, povidone iodine, cephalexinl Pink Skin~l and multivitamins hair grew up and lesions were disappeared completely 8 months after occurrence.

In this paper, hand acupuncture used as a way of life medicine in everyday life, the influence of human organ will be investigated by applying IT techniques. For this, hand acupuncture is based on priority of the most important organ in the human body to target the cardiac associated with cardiac reflex point A16 acupuncture point before and after for 5 min to stimulation of facial images were collected and applied to the Lab color system associated with the cardiac, color value of cheonjung and lips region were measured for comparison and analysis. Finally, by measuring the change in bio-image signals A16 acupuncture point stimulation effects on cardiac function were performed to investigate the effectiveness of acupuncture. Also, statistical significance tests from the experimental results were performed whether the experimental results is valid or not.

The vermilion zone of the lips is mucocutaneous junction between the skin and the oral mucosa of lips. Diseases of the vermilion zone may be related to a local or systemic condition, and can be manifestation of a systemic disease. In this cases, we introduced patients with hemorrhagic, ulcerative lesions on the vermilion zone and reported plasma cell cheilitis and lesion of the vermilion zone related to Stevens-Johnson syndrome(SJS).

Two patients, sought treatment for chief complaints of protruding frontal tooth and desired treatment to reduce the prominance of lips, were diagnosed as bimaxillary protrusion via clinical and cephalometric analysis. The authors corrected them by combined surgical and orthodonic treatment. As pre-surgical survey, paper and cast surgery were performed and wafer and resin sprint were constructed. We performed anterior maxillary and mandibular osteotomies in first premolar site to retract the maxillary and mandibular dentoalveolar segment in order to ; 1) decrease prominance of upper and lower lips. 2) create proper lower incisor intrusion. By use of intrtamaxillary fixation, prompt oral intake was possible. We made good result of esthetic improvement and there was no evidence of relapse and any complication.
