Purpose: This study was performed to define the drying characteristics of sorghum by developing thin layer drying equations and evaluating various grain drying equations. Thin layer drying equations lay the foundation characteristics to establish the thick layer drying equations, which can be adopted to determine the design conditions for an agricultural dryer. Methods: The drying rate of sorghum was measured under three levels of drying temperature ($40^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$, and $60^{\circ}C$) and relative humidity (30%, 40%, and 50%) to analyze the drying process and investigate the drying conditions. The drying experiment was performed until the weight of sorghum became constant. The experimental constants of four thin layer drying models were determined by developing a non-linear regression model along with the drying experiment results. Result: The half response time (moisture ratio = 0.5) of drying, which is an index of the drying rate, was increased as the drying temperature was high and relative humidity was low. When the drying temperature was $40^{\circ}C$ at a relative humidity (RH) of 50%, the maximum half response time of drying was 2.8 h. Contrastingly, the maximum half response time of drying was 1.2 h when the drying temperature was $60^{\circ}C$ at 30% RH. The coefficient of determination for the Lewis model, simplified diffusion model, Page model, and Thompson model was respectively 0.9976, 0.9977, 0.9340, and 0.9783. The Lewis model and the simplified diffusion model satisfied the drying conditions by showing the average coefficient of determination of the experimental constants and predicted values of the model as 0.9976 and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.0236. Conclusion: The simplified diffusion model was the most suitable for every drying condition of drying temperature and relative humidity, and the model for the thin layer drying is expected to be useful to develop the thick layer drying model.
Identifying the water circulation status is one of the indispensable processes for watershed management in an urban area. Recently, various water circulation models have been developed to simulate the water circulation, but it takes a lot of time and cost to make a water circulation model that could adapt the characteristics of the watershed. This paper aims to develop a water circulation state estimation model that could easily calculate the status of water circulation in an urban watershed by using multiple linear regression analysis. The study watershed is a watershed in Seoul that applied the impermeable area ratio in 1962 and 2000. And, It was divided into 73 watersheds in order to consider changes in water circulation status according to the urban characteristic factors. The input data of the SHER(Similar Hydrologic Element Response) model, a water circulation model, were used as data for the urban characteristic factors of each watershed. A total of seven factors were considered as urban characteristic factors. Those factors included annual precipitation, watershed area, average land-surface slope, impervious surface ratio, coefficient of saturated permeability, hydraulic gradient of groundwater surface, and length of contact line with downstream block. With significance probabilities (or p-values) of 0.05 and below, all five models showed significant results in estimating the water circulation status such as the surface runoff rate and the evapotranspiration rate. The model that was applied all seven urban characteristics factors, can calculate the most similar results such as the existing water circulation model. The water circulation estimation model developed in this study is not only useful to simply estimate the water circulation status of ungauged watersheds but can also provide data for parameter calibration and validation.

The introduction of tracer gas techniques to ventilation studies in indoor environments provides valuable information that used to be unattainable from conventional testing environments. Data acquisition systems (DASs) containing analogue-to-digital (A/D) converters are usually used to function the key role that records signals to storage in digital format. In the testing process, there exist a number of components in the measuring equipment which may produce system-based inference to the monitored results. These unwanted fluctuations may cause significant error in data analysis, especially when non-linear algorithms are involved. In this study, a pre-processor is developed and applied to separate the unwanted fluctuations (noise or interference) in raw measurements and to reduce the uncertainty in the measurement. Moving average, notch filter, FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filters, and IIR (Infinite Impulse Response) filters are designed and applied to collect the desired information from the raw measurements. Tracer gas concentrations are monitored during leakage and ventilation tests in the model test room. The signal analysis functions are introduced to carry out the digital signal processing (DSP) work. Overall the FIR filters process the $CO_2$ measurement properly for ventilation rate and mean age of air calculations. It is found that, the Kaiser filter was the most applicable digital filter for pre-processing the tracer gas measurements. Although the IIR filters help to reduce the random noise in the data, they cause considerable changes to the filtered data, which is not desirable.
Nonlinear network creates complex homotopy structural communication in wireless network medium because of complex distribution approach. Due to this multicast topological connection structure, the queuing probability was non regular principles to create routing structures. To resolve this problem, we propose a Co-cluster homotopy queuing model (Co-CHQT) for Nonlinear Algebraic Topological Structure (NLTS-) for improving poison distribution network communication. Initially this collects the routing propagation based on Nonlinear Distance Theory (NLDT) to estimate the nearest neighbor network nodes undernon linear at x(a,b)→ax2+bx2 = c. Then Quillen Network Decomposition Theorem (QNDT) was applied to sustain the non-regular routing propagation to create cluster path. Each cluster be form with co variance structure based on Two unicast 2(n+1)-Z2(n+1)-Z network. Based on the poison distribution theory X(a,b) ≠ µ(C), at number of distribution routing strategies weights are estimated based on node response rate. Deriving shorte;'l/st path from behavioral of the node response, Hilbert -Krylov subspace clustering estimates the Cluster Head (CH) to the routing head. This solves the approximation routing strategy from the nonlinear communication depending on Max- equivalence theory (Max-T). This proposed system improves communication to construction topological cluster based on optimized level to produce better performance in distance theory, throughput latency in non-variation delay tolerant.
Linear GMR isolator which is profitable for transmitting analog signal was modeled and the output voltage and current in relation to the input current were investigated. GMR isolator modeling was divided into two parts, namely magnetic and electric parts. The flow chart of the modeling was drawn in which the MR curve of the spin valves were incorporated to obtain the electrical voltage output. For magnetic modeling, 3-dimensional model of planar coil was analyzed by FEM method to obtain the magnetic field strength corresponding to the input current. Coil efficiency of the planar coil having magnetic core layer was shown to have about 1.5 times larger than that of the coil without the magnetic core layer. The feedback coil current(output current) corresponding to the input coil current was calculated to be within ${\pm}$0.25 mA of the linear fitting function of I$\_$out/= I$\_$in/-5 mA. Also, the response time and output waveforms were obtained when the coil current was a rectangular waveform. The rise time and fall time was 6 ${\mu}\textrm{s}$, respectively when the slew rate of the op-amp was 0.3 V/${\mu}\textrm{s}$.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analysis on the Stress Response Inventory(SRI) and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) of some dysmenorrhoea patients. Methods: We studied 34 patients visiting OO Medical Center from May 2007 to November 2007. And the severity of dysmenorrhoea were measured by Multidimensional Verbal Rating scale(MVRS), Verbal Rating scale (VRS) and Visual Analog Scale(VAS). And SRI and HRV were recorded. Results: According to comparison of Means of HRV values among the groups, most of them were not statistically significant. But the comparison of Means of SRI, the points of almost all values were kept by order of Severe-Moderate-Mild-None group. Most of them are statistically significant. According to correlation analysis between dysmenorrhoea scale and HRV, most of them were not statistically significant. But the correlation analysis between HRV and SRI, there were some correlations. And the correlation analysis between SRI and dysmenorrhoea scale, most of them were statistically significant. According to General Linear Model of Dysmenorrhoea $scale^{\ast}SRI$ and HRV. Dysmenorrhoea scale and SRI influenced values of HRV. But it is hard to conclude the relationship between Dysmenorrhoea $scale^{\ast}SRI$ and HRV Conclusion: The results suggest that stress is related to dysmenorrhoea. But the relation between dysmenorrhoea and HRV was hard to conclude. We need more study for settling the relation between dysmenorrhoea and HRV.
A numerical procedure for optimizing the shape of three-dimensional channel with V-shaped ribs extruded on both walls has been carried out to enhance the turbulent heat transfer. The response surface based optimization is used as an optimization technique with Reynolds-averaged Wavier-stoked analysis. Shear stress transport (SST) turbulence model is used as a turbulence closure. Computational results for average heat transfer rate show good agreements with experimental data. The objective function is defined as a linear combination of heat transfer and friction loss-related terms with a weighting factor. Three dimensionless variables such as, rib pitch-to-rib height ratio, rib height-to-channel height ratio, and the attack angle of the rib are chosen as design variables. Nineteen training points obtained by D-optimal designs for three design variables construct a reliable response surface. In the sensitivity analysis, it is found that the objective function is most sensitive to the ratio of rib height-to-channel height ratio. And, optimal values of design variables have been obtained in a range of the weighting factor.

A numerical optimization has been carried out to determine the shape of the three-dimensional channel with oblique ribs attached on both walls to enhance turbulent heat transfer. The response surface based optimization is used as an optimization technique with Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes analysis of fluid flow and heat transfer. Shear stress transport (SST) turbulence model is used as a turbulence closure. Numerical results fur heat transfer rate show good agreements with experimental data. four dimensionless variables such as, rib pitch-to-rib height ratio, rib height-to-channel height ratio, streamwise rib distance on opposite wall to rib pitch ratio, and the attack angle of the rib are chosen as design variables. The objective function is defined as a linear combination of heat-transfer and friction-loss related coefficients with a weighting factor. D-optimal method is used to determine the training points as a means of design of experiment. Sensitivity of the objective parameters to each design variable has been analyzed. And, optimal values of the design variables have been obtained in a range of the weighting factor.
The response of the arc sensor using the welding current and/or welding voltage as its outputs has been obtained by the analysis and/or experiments of the static characteristics of arc sensor. But in order to improve the reliability of arc sensor, it is necessary to know its dynamic characteristics. So in this paper, it is presented the dynamic model of arc sensor including the power source, arc voltage, electrode burnoff rate, and wire feed rate. A numerical simulation of the dynamic model of arc sensor was implemented, computing the welding current with input of CTWD. The results of computer simulations and experiments of $CO_2$arc welding showed that a linear relationship between weaving center - weld line distance and current area difference was established. Additionally, a real-time weld seam tracking system interfaced with industrial welding robot was constructed, the result of the weld seam tracking experiment for weld line with an initial offset error of 5$^{\circ}$was good.
Real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS), which has the advantages of a substructure pseudo-dynamic test, is widely used to investigate the rate-dependent mechanical response of structures under earthquake excitation. However, time delay in RTHS can cause inaccurate results and experimental instabilities. Thus, this study proposes a model-based adaptive control strategy using a Kalman filter (KF) to minimize the time delay and improve RTHS stability and accuracy. In this method, the adaptive control strategy consists of three parts-a feedforward controller based on the discrete inverse model of a servohydraulic actuator and physical specimen, a parameter estimator using the KF, and a feedback controller. The KF with the feedforward controller can significantly reduce the variable time delay due to its fast convergence and high sensitivity to the error between the desired displacement and the measured one. The feedback control can remedy the residual time delay and minimize the method's dependence on the inverse model, thereby improving the robustness of the proposed control method. The tracking performance and parametric studies are conducted using the benchmark problem in RTHS. The results reveal that better tracking performance can be obtained, and the KF's initial settings have limited influence on the proposed strategy. Virtual RTHSs are conducted with linear and nonlinear physical substructures, respectively, and the results indicate brilliant tracking performance and superb robustness of the proposed method.
