The elliptic relaxation model(ERM) with the inhomogeneous correction intermediate between near wall with and far from the wall. The source of the ERM usually was appled quasi-homogeneous pressure-strain correlation in homogeneous situations. This formulation was easily applied to the linear model or non-linear pressure-strain model. It is observed that the boundary conditions of the relaxation operator dominate the homogeneous pressure-strain model in the near wall region. While looking at high-Reynolds number flows, it was found necessary to modify the effect of the relaxation operator throughout the log region by accounting for gradients of the flatness variable and turbulent length scales. These effects are kinematic blocking of the wall normal velocity fluctuation and pressure reflections from the surface. This model is wall distances and unit vectors which make the model applicable to flows boundary by a complex geometry. Inhomogeneous correction model is computed inertial and non-inertial channel flow These are compared DNS(Kim et at., Kristofffrsen & Andersson) for channel flow. The present model could be predicted well for rotating flows.
Linear response theory is proposed to be applied for theoretical description of the phenomena in mechanical spectroscopy of solid high polymers below glass transition temperatures. The energy dissipation by sample is given in terms of certain time correlation functions. It is shown that the result leads to the result by Kirkwood on the energy loss and relaxation of cross-linked polymers, if the Liouville operator is replaced by the diffusion equation operator of Kirkwood. An approximation method of calculating the correlation functions is considered in order to show a way to calculate relaxation times. Using the approximation method, we consider a double-well potential model for energy relaxation, in order to see a connection between the present theory and a model theory used in mechanical energy relaxation phenomena of solid polymers containing pendant cyclohexyl groups at low temperature.
An attemption of synthesizing and forecasting of monthly river flow has been made by employing a linear stochastic difference equation model. As one of the linear stochestic difference equation model, an ARIMA Type is tested to find the suitability of the model to the monthly river flows. On the assumption of the stationary covariacne of differenced monthly river flows the model is identrfield and is evaluated so that the residuale have the minimum variance. Finally a test is performed to finld the residerals beings White noise. Monthly river flows at six stations in Han River Basin are applied for case studies. It was found that the difference operator is a good measure of forecasting the monthly river flow.
Non-linear vibration characteristics of functionally graded CNT-reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) cylindrical shell panel on elastic foundation have not been sufficiently examined. In this situation, this study aims at the profound numerical investigation of the non-linear vibration response of FG-CNTRC cylindrical panels on Winkler-Pasternak foundation by introducing an accurate and effective 2-D meshfree-based non-linear numerical method. The large-amplitude free vibration problem is formulated according to the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) with the von Karman non-linearity, and it is approximated by Laplace interpolation functions in 2-D natural element method (NEM) and a non-linear partial derivative operator HNL. The complex and painstaking numerical derivation on the curved surface and the crucial shear locking are overcome by adopting the geometry transformation and the MITC3+ shell elements. The derived nonlinear modal equations are iteratively solved by introducing a three-step iterative solving technique which is combined with Lanczos transformation and Jacobi iteration. The developed non-linear numerical method is estimated through the benchmark test, and the effects of foundation stiffness, CNT volume fraction and functionally graded pattern, panel dimensions and boundary condition on the non-linear vibration of FG-CNTRC cylindrical panels on elastic foundation are parametrically investigated.
This paper addresses the approach to extract linear features from satellite imagery using an efficient segmentation method. The extraction of linear features from satellite images has been the main concern of many scientists. There is a need to develop a more capable and cost effective method for the Iranian map revision tasks. The conventional approaches for producing, maintaining, and updating GIS map are time consuming and costly process. Hence, this research is intended to investigate how to obtain linear features from SPOT satellite imagery. This was accomplished using a discontinuity-based segmentation technique that encompasses four stages: low level bottom-up, middle level bottom-up, edge thinning and accuracy assessment. The first step is geometric correction and noise removal using suitable operator. The second step includes choosing the appropriate edge detection method, finding its proper threshold and designing the built-up image. The next step is implementing edge thinning method using mathematical morphology technique. Lastly, the geometric accuracy assessment task for feature extraction as well as an assessment for the built-up result has been carried out. Overall, this approach has been applied successfully for linear feature extraction from SPOT image.
This paper deals with an application of adaptive blind source separation (BSS) method, equivariant adaptive separation via independence (EASI), and Teager Energy Operator (TEO) for online identification of structural modal parameters. The aim of adaptive BSS methods is recovering a set of independent sources from their unknown linear mixtures in each step when a new sample is received. In the proposed approach, firstly, the EASI method is used to decompose structural responses into independent sources at each instance. Secondly, the TEO based demodulation method with discrete energy separation algorithm (DESA-1) is applied to each independent source, and the instantaneous frequencies and damping ratios are extracted. The DESA-1 method can provide the fast time response and has high resolution so it is suitable for online problems. This paper also compares the performance of DESA-1 algorithm with Hilbert transform (HT) method. Compared to HT method, the DESA-1 method requires smaller amounts of samples to estimate and has a smaller computational complexity and faster adaption due to instantaneous characteristic. Furthermore, due to high resolution of the DESA-1 algorithm, it is very sensitive to noise and outliers. The effectiveness of the proposed approach has been validated using synthetic examples and a benchmark structure.
Let H be a separable, infinite dimensional, compled Hilbert space and let L(H) be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on H. A dual algebra is a subalgebra of L(H) that contains the identity operator $I_{H}$ and is closed in the ultraweak topology on L(H). Note that the ultraweak operator topology coincides with the wea $k^{*}$ topology on L(H)(see [3]). Bercovici-Foias-Pearcy [3] studied the problem of solving systems of simultaneous equations in the predual of a dual algebra. The theory of dual algebras has been applied to the topics of invariant subspaces, dilation theory and reflexibity (see [1],[2],[3],[5],[6]), and is deeply related with properties ( $A_{m,n}$). Jung-Lee-Lee [7] introduced n-separating sets for subalgebras and proved the relationship between n-separating sets and properties ( $A_{m,n}$). In this paper we will study the relationship between direct sum and properties ( $A_{m,n}$). In particular, using some results of [7] we obtain relationship between n-separating sets and direct sum of von Neumann algebras.ras.s.ras.
Support vector machines(SVM) may perform poorly in the presence of noise variables; in addition, it is difficult to identify the importance of each variable in the resulting classifier. A feature selection can improve the interpretability and the accuracy of SVM. Most existing studies concern feature selection in the linear SVM through penalty functions yielding sparse solutions. Note that one usually adopts nonlinear kernels for the accuracy of classification in practice. Hence feature selection is still desirable for nonlinear SVMs. In this paper, we compare the performances of nonlinear feature selection methods such as component selection and smoothing operator(COSSO) and kernel iterative feature extraction(KNIFE) on simulated and real data sets.
In this paper, we introduce a second order linear differential operator T□: C∞ (M) → C∞ (M) as a natural generalization of Cheng-Yau operator, [8], where T is a (1, 1)-tensor on Riemannian manifold (M, h), and then we show on compact Riemannian manifolds, divT = divTt, and if divT = 0, and f be a smooth function on M, the condition T□ f = 0 implies that f is constant. Hereafter, we introduce T-energy functionals and by deriving variations of these functionals, we define T-harmonic maps between Riemannian manifolds, which is a generalization of Lk-harmonic maps introduced in [3]. Also we have studied fT-harmonic maps for conformal immersions and as application of it, we consider fLk-harmonic hypersurfaces in space forms, and after that we classify complete fL1-harmonic surfaces, some fLk-harmonic isoparametric hypersurfaces, fLk-harmonic weakly convex hypersurfaces, and we show that there exists no compact fLk-harmonic hypersurface either in the Euclidean space or in the hyperbolic space or in the Euclidean hemisphere. As well, some properties and examples of these definitions are given.

In this paper, data acquisition and analysis of a measuring machine for marine engine's cams is discussed. A rotary encoder and linear scale of the machine to measure angular and linear displacement respectively are interfaced to the PC via encoder board with 2 channels. The design and measuring data are interpolated by cubic spline curves to compute the precision error which is defined by the maximum and minimum distances between two curves. The minimum zone fit of ISO is employed to evaluate the geometric deviation. The developed system takes only 5 minutes to measure and analyze while the CMM takes over 1 hours even with a skilled operator.
