  • The modern society longing for the convenience of up-to-date technology, there are attempts of miniaturization and high reliance of power equipments in the effectiveness aspect of urban area's usage of space while requiring more electrical energy than now. Consequently, paper used to the Neral Network for a forcasting conservation system. A neral network is powerful asta modeling tool that is able to capture and represent complex input/output relationships. The true power and advantage of neral networks lies in their ability to learn these relationships directly from the data being modeled. Traditional linear models are simply inadequate when it comes to modeling data that contains non-linear characteristics. Form results of this study, the Neral Network is will play an important role for insulation diagnosis system of real site GIS and power eqipment using $SF_6$ gas.

  • The first-order least-squares meshfree method for linear elasticity is presented. The conventional and the compatibility-imposed least-squares formulations are studied on the convergence behavior of the solution and the robustness to integration error. Since the least-squares formulation is a type of mixed formulation and induces positive-definite system matrix, by using shape functions of same order for both primal and dual variables, higher rate of convergence is obtained for dual variables than Galerkin formulation. Numerical examples also show that the presented formulations do not exhibit any volumetric locking for the incompressible materials.

  • A study has been made for the investigation of the robustness and convergence of various implicit operators of the LU-SGS scheme using linear stability analysis. It is shown that the behavior of the implicit operator is not determined by its own characteristics, but is determined relatively depending on the dissipative property of the explicit operator. It is also shown that, as the dissipation level of the implicit operator increases, the robustness of the scheme increases, but the convergence rate can be deteriorated due to the excessive dissipation. The numerical results demonstrate that the dissipation level of the impliict operator needs to be higher than that of the explicit operator for computing stiff problems.

  • In this paper, we propose a new convex combination weight rule for the cross decomposition method which is known to be one of the most reliable and promising strategies for the large scale optimization problems. It is called generalized cross decomposition, a modification of linear mean value cross decomposition for specially structured linear programming problems. This scheme puts more weights on the recent subproblem solutions other than the average. With this strategy, we are having more room for selecting convex combination weights depending on the problem structure and the convergence behavior, and then, we may choose a rule for either faster convergence for getting quick bounds or more accurate solution. Also, we can improve the slow end-tail behavior by using some combined rules. Also, we provide some computational test results that show the superiority of this strategy to the mean value cross decomposition in computational time and the quality of bounds.

  • This paper presents a new hybrid method for solving nonlinear complementarity problems with $P_0$-functions. It can be regarded as a combination of smoothing trust region method with ODE-based method and line search technique. A feature of the proposed method is that at each iteration, a linear system is only solved once to obtain a trial step, thus avoiding solving a trust region subproblem. Another is that when a trial step is not accepted, the method does not resolve the linear system but generates an iterative point whose step-length is defined by a line search. Under some conditions, the method is proven to be globally and superlinearly convergent. Preliminary numerical results indicate that the proposed method is promising.

  • We have been developing a new label-free nanobio imaging platform using non-linear optics such as Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy (CARS) and ion beam techniques based on sputtering and scattering such as Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) and Medium Energy Ion Scattering Spectroscopy (MEIS), which have been widely used for atomic and molecular level analysis of semiconductors and nanomaterials. To apply techniques developed for semiconductors and nanomaterials for biomedical applications, the convergence of nano-analysis and biology were tried. Our activities on label-free nanobio imaging during the last decade are summarized in this review about non-linear optical 3D imaging, ellipsometric interface imaging, SIMS imaging, and TOF-MEIS nano analysis for cardiovascular tissues, collagen thin films, peptides on microarray, nanoparticles, and cell adhesion studies and finally the present snapshot of nanobio imaging and the future prospect are described.

  • An in-process extraction method of the ground surface roughness is a bottle-neck and essential field in conventional machining process. We define the D.A.R.F(Dimensionless Average Roughness Factor) that has a roughness characteristic of ground surface. D.A.R.F include the absolute average and the standard deviation values which are the analytic parameters of the AE(Acoustic Emission) signal generated during the grinding operation. The theoretical equation between the surface roughness and the D.A.R.F has been derived from the linear regressive analysis and verified its availability through the experimentation on the surface grinding machine.

  • This paper presents the system modeling, analysis, and controller design and implementation with a inverted pendulum system in order to test Linear Quadratic control based robust algorithm for inverted pendulum robot. The balancing of an inverted pendulum robot by moving pendulum robot like as 'segway' along a horizontal track is a classic problem in the area of control. This paper will describe two methods to swing a pendulum attached to a cart from an initial downwards position to an upright position and maintain that state. The results of real experiment show that the proposed control system has superior performance for following a reference command at certain initial conditions.

  • The Vapor-liquid equilibrium data for the binary system of 2-methyl-2-propanol-2-butanone are measured at subatmospheric pressure of 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700 and 760 torr. This study shows that the relations between logarithmic values of relative valatility(log ${\alpha}$)and liquid phase composition(${\chi}$) in the above binary systems are expressed as a linear function. When the linear relationships of between logarithmic values of relative volatilities and liquid phase compositions in the binary systems of various pressure intersect at a point, this empirical equation can be applied to the systems of this kind. From these relations the vapor-liquid equilibrium data are estimated and compared with the measured values to be in a good agreement with in accuracy ${\pm}0.0021$ for the various pressure.
