On-Line Estimation of Partial Discharge Location in Power Transformer

  • This paper presents a neural network approach for on-line estimation of partial discharge(PD) location using advanced correlation technique in power transformer. Ultrasonic sensors detect ultrasonic signals generated by a PD and the proposed method calculates time difference between the ultrasonic signals at each sensor pair using the cross-correlation technique applied by moving average and the Hamming window. The neural network takes distance difference as inputs converted from time difference, and estimates the PD location. Case studies showed that the proposed method using advanced correlation technique and a neural network estimated the PD location better than conventional methods.

기능점수를 이용한 소프트웨어 개발노력 추정 (Software Development Effort Estimation Using Function Point)

  • 소프트웨어공학에서 소프트웨어 측정분야는 30년 이상 수많은 연구가 있어 왔으나 아직까지 구체적인 소프트웨어 개발노력과 비용 추정 모델이 거의 없는 실정이다. 만약 소프트웨어 개발노력과 비용을 측정하려면 소프트웨어 규모를 추정해야 한다. 소프트웨어의 규모를 측정하기 위한 많은 소프트웨어 척도가 개발되었지만 가장 일반적인 척도가 LOC(line of code)와 FPA(Function Point Analysis)이다. FPA는 소프트웨어 규모를 측정하는데 LOC를 사용할 때의 단점을 극복할 수 있는 기법이다. 본 논문은 FP(Function Point)로 측정된 소프트웨어 규모로 소프트웨어 개발노력을 추정하는 단순회귀모델을 제안한다. 실험에 사용된 데이터들은 다양한 개발환경과 개발방법을 적용한 최근의 789개 소프트웨어 개발 프로젝트들이다. 실험 데이타들에 대한 산점도를 그려 개발노력과 FP의 적합한 관계로부터 단순회귀분석 모델을 유도하였다. 또한, 다양한 소프트웨어 개발환경과 개발방법 등을 고려해 개발된 최근의 대용량 프로젝트에 대해 제안된 단순회귀분석 모델이 기존의 회귀분석 모델들보다 개발노력 추정 정확성이 월등히 좋음을 보였다.

PRICE S 모델을 이용한 무기체계 내장형 소프트웨어 비용 추정 기법 (A Cost Estimation Technique using the PRICE S Model for Embedded Software in Weapon Systems)

  • 무기체계 획득 사업에 있어서 소프트웨어의 비중이 높아감에 따라 비용추정의 중요성이 증대되고 있으나, 무기체계 내장형 소프트웨어의 비용에 대한 추정은 일반 소프트웨어 비용 추정 방법을 따르며 주로 PRICE S 모델을 도구로 사용하고 있다. 그렇지만, PRICE S 모델에서 내장형 소프트웨어에 대한 개발규모 산정에 따른 추정 비용의 타당성에 대한 검증 결과는 알려져 있지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 PRICE S 모델을 이용하여 무기체계 내장형 소프트웨어의 산정 규모를 통한 비용 추정 기법을 제안한다. 이를 위하여 PRICE S 모델의 규모 산정 도구를 이용하여 코드라인과 기능점수 방식으로 소프트웨어의 규모를 추정한다. 최종적으로는 제작사에서 제공하는 실제 비용 자료와 비교한다. 결과적으로 객관적으로 추정이 어려웠던 무기체계 내장형 소프트웨어의 규모 및 비용을 추정하는 방안을 제시함으로써, 앞으로 무기체계 획득 사업에서 소프트웨어의 비용 검증 및 협상에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 본 논문은 스트랩다운 탐색기 측정치와 INS 정보를 이용하여 시선각속도를 추정하는 유도필터 설계에 대해서 다룬다. 제안하는 유도필터는 탐색기 측정치와 유도탄 자세로부터 획득 가능한 시선각과 표적의 위치와 유도탄과의 상대 위치를 측정치로 하고 있으며, 주기 및 동기가 맞지 않는 두 센서의 출력을 사용하기 위해 비동기 필터를 기반으로 하고 있다. 제안한 방법을 통해 시간지연이 큰 탐색기 측정치를 사용함으로써 생길 수 있는 기생루프에 대한 영향을 줄이고 추정성능을 향상시킬 수 있다.

RCD success criteria estimation based on allowable coping time

  • When a loss of coolant accident (LOCA) occurs in a nuclear power plant, accident scenarios which can prevent core damage are defined based on break size. Current probabilistic safety assessment evaluates that core damage can be prevented under small-break LOCA (SBLOCA) and steam generator tube rupture (SGTR) with rapid cool down (RCD) strategy when all safety injection systems are unavailable. However, previous research has pointed out a limitation of RCD in terms of initiation time. Therefore, RCD success criteria estimation based on allowable coping time under a SBLOCA or SGTR when all safety injection systems are unavailable was performed based on time-line and thermal-hydraulic analyses. The time line analysis assumed a single emergency operating procedure flow, and the thermal hydraulic analysis utilized MARS-KS code with variables of break size, cooling rate, and operator allowable time. Results show while RCD is possible under SGTR, it is impossible under SBLOCA at the APR1400's current cooling rate limitation of 55 K/hr. A success criteria map for RCD under SBLOCA is suggested without cooling rate limitation.

A completely non-contact recognition system for bridge unit influence line using portable cameras and computer vision

  • Currently most of the vision-based structural identification research focus either on structural input (vehicle location) estimation or on structural output (structural displacement and strain responses) estimation. The structural condition assessment at global level just with the vision-based structural output cannot give a normalized response irrespective of the type and/or load configurations of the vehicles. Combining the vision-based structural input and the structural output from non-contact sensors overcomes the disadvantage given above, while reducing cost, time, labor force including cable wiring work. In conventional traffic monitoring, sometimes traffic closure is essential for bridge structures, which may cause other severe problems such as traffic jams and accidents. In this study, a completely non-contact structural identification system is proposed, and the system mainly targets the identification of bridge unit influence line (UIL) under operational traffic. Both the structural input (vehicle location information) and output (displacement responses) are obtained by only using cameras and computer vision techniques. Multiple cameras are synchronized by audio signal pattern recognition. The proposed system is verified with a laboratory experiment on a scaled bridge model under a small moving truck load and a field application on a footbridge on campus under a moving golf cart load. The UILs are successfully identified in both bridge cases. The pedestrian loads are also estimated with the extracted UIL and the predicted weights of pedestrians are observed to be in acceptable ranges.

레이다 시선 측정치를 활용하는 선형 표적 추적필터 기반 함포 사격제원계산장치 성능향상 방법 (Performance Improvement Approach to Naval Gun Fire Control System Based on Linear Target Tracking Filter with Radar Line-of-sight Measurements)

  • This paper addresses a novel approach to performance enhancement of the naval gun fire control system(FCS) by using the projectile tracking filter without any distortion of radar measurements. Under the assumption that the maneuvering between the projectile and the ship equipped with the radar is not quite large, this method is based on the concept of polar-coordinate target tracking, which separates the range estimation filter and the direction cosine estimation filter. Note that using polar-coordinates allows tracking to be performed in the same coordinate system from which the radar line-of-sight(LOS) measurements are obtained, unlike the conventional tracking process in Cartesian. Also, it is easy to implement in real-time and guarantees consistent estimates due to its linear filter structure. With the help of the above method, therefore, the proposed filter is able to improve the overall performance of FCS which requires stability of projectile estimates within a short engagement time. The effectiveness of the presented scheme is validated through computer simulations.

  • Recently, the development of computer achieves a system which is similar to the mechanics of human visual system. The 3-dimensional measurement using monocular vision system must be achieved a camera calibration. So far, the camera calibration technique required reference target in a scene. But, these methods are inefficient because they have many calculation procedures and difficulties in analysis. Therefore, this paper proposes a native method that without reference target in a scene. We use the grid type frame with different line widths. This method uses vanishing point concept that possess a rotation parameter of the camera and perspective ration that perspect each line widths into a image. We confirmed accuracy of calibration parameter estimation through experiment on the algorithm with a grid paper with different line widths.

Text Line Segmentation using AHTC and Watershed Algorithm for Handwritten Document Images

  • Text line segmentation is a critical task in handwritten document recognition. In this paper, we propose a novel text-line-segmentation method using baseline estimation and watershed. The baseline-detection algorithm estimates the baseline using Adaptive Head-Tail Connection (AHTC) on the document. Then, the watershed method segments the line region using the baseline-detection result. Finally, the text lines are separated by watershed result and a post-processing algorithm defines the lines more correctly. The scheme successfully segments text lines with 97% accuracy from the handwritten document images in the ICDAR database.

  • Recently batch type cold rolling processes have been replaced by continuous annealing type processes for cold rolled sheets of mild steel and high strength steel in order to obtain higher productivity, labor saving. In the continuous annealing line, it is very important to maintain the target steel strip temperature at the exit side of each furnace. The automation system of continuous annealing line is based on a hierachical composition. This paper shows how to preset the set value of furnace temperature control for the heating section in a continuous annealing line. Saying in other words, this paper presents the development of an adaptive control approach to control the exit strip temperature in the continuous annealing line. There are three parts in this approach; one is a process modelling and another is recursive parameter estimation and the other is a design of temperature controller.
