  • The Commercial space are changed gradually large scalized and complexed to introduce different culture exchanges and experience. However, the mass-complex commercial space are limited as of their complexed space composition or degree of space depth, which may become factors causing people to get tired easily. Thus, having a design strategy is important to create economical effectiveness in order to overcome these limitations and for the people to stay longer and do their consumption activities through more experiences and social interchanges. Recently, Jerde Partnership's who designed many complex commercial spaces made a commercial success by their unique design strategy to setup a new space and lead the interaction between space and people. The purpose of this study is based on Jerd's design concept to analyze Jerd Partnership's design strategy and space related structure to propose their space construction and design method for mass-complex commercial spaces. The results are as follows. (1)Jerde Partnership's causes the abundant space experience of the user through mass and space constitution to have a theme and a story. (2)They builds an excursion type line of flow system with an organic curve, and a non-daily experience by the change of the space scale and the application of various programs is enabled and guides the stay for the long time. (3)They builds the doorway of various courses and a circulation system through the open space and controls depth of the space. In addition, various events are performed in the center of such a circulation system, and this event makes a unique place.

Characteristics of Jeogori Found in the Gwan-eum Bodhisattva Statue in Bogwang Temple of Goryeo Dynasty (보광사 고려시대 관음보살좌상(觀音菩薩坐像) 복장(腹藏) 저고리의 특성)

  • One piece of Jeogori and several books of the Goryeo dynasty were found inside of the wooden Buddhist Goddess of Mercy Statue of the Bogwang temple and they were designated as national treasure of Korea, No. 1571. The jeogori was the Jeogsam as the kind of underwear and conjectured as for women by considering its size. The collar of the jeogori was 3cm-wide square-shaped collar without gussit and the sleeve was close to straight line. Also the jeogori was designed without breast ties and could be adjusted by knot button. The fabrics for the jeogori showed similar pattern as complex silk gauze in 1302. It has not been reported yet that the complex silk gauze was used for the Jeogsam from Goryeo Dynasty to Joseon Dynasty. Comparing the Jeogori of the Bogwang temple to those of Goryeo Dynasty, it can be appropriately estimated as the remains of the Goryeo Dynasty since its shape and materials are very similar to those found in the Jeogori's of the Goryeo Dynasty and it was found between the books of the Goryeo Dynasty inside of the knee part of the wooden Buddhist Goddess of Mercy Statue of the Bogwang temple. Although only one piece of Jeogori was found, it's importance in cultural value or in the study of the fabric history cannot be underestimated considering the fact that the Jeogories of the Goryeo Dynasty are scarce, and that the used fabric was not commonly used complex silk gauze, and especially that this Jeogori is the only existing Jeogsam made of complex silk gauze.

Washoff Characteristics of Non-point Source pollutants and Estimation of Unit Loads in Suburban Industrial Complex Areas Runoff (교외 산업단지지역 강우유출수내 비점오염물질의 유출특성 및 원단위 산정)

  • The characteristics of stormwater runoff and estimation of unit loads were examined in suburban industrial complex areas. During rainfall event, the peak concentrations occurred within the first 100 minutes after rainfall and then the highest concentration of NPS pollutants sharply decreased, showing strong first flush effect in suburban industrial complex. The cumulative load curves for NPS pollutants showed above the straight line, indicating that first flush effect occurred in suburban industrial complex. While the mean TSS, BOD, COD, TN and TP EMCs values were shown the highest values as 120.6 mg/L, 20.8 mg/L, 44.0 mg/L, 5.58 mg/L and 1.46 mg/L respectively. Unit loads estimated from the EMCs were TSS $43.86kg/km^2/day$, COD $52.45kg/km^2/day$, BOD $24.79kg/km^2/day$, T-N $6.65kg/km^2/day$, T-P $1.75kg/km^2/day$, and Pb $0.10kg/km^2/day$. Results of unit loads were compared with the unit pollutant loads from land-use in Korea and USA. The unit load of TSS was lower than that of USA. Estimated BOD and T-N and T-P unit loads were lower than that of Korea.

All-trans Retinoic Acid-Associated Low Molecular Weight Water-Soluble Chitosan N anoparticles Based on Ion Complex

  • The purpose of this study is to develop novel nanoparticles based on polyion complex formation between low molecular weight water-soluble chitosan (LMWSC) and all-trans retinoic acid (atRA). LMWSC nanoparticles encapsulating atRA based on polyion complex were prepared by mixing of atRA into LMWSC aqueous solution using ultrasonication. In FTIR spectra, the carbonyl group of atRA at 1690 $cm^{-1}$ disappeared or decreased when ion complexes were formed between LMWSC and atRA. In ${1}^H$ NMR spectra, specific peaks of atRA disappeared when atRA-encapsulated LMWSC (RAC) nanoparticles were reconstituted into $D_{2}O$ while specific peaks both of atRA and LMWSC appeared in $D_{2}O$/DMSO (1/3, v/v) mixture. XRD patterns also showed that the crystal peaks of atRA were disappeared by encapsulation into LMWSC nanoparticles. LMWSC nanoparticles encapsulating atRA have spherical shapes with particle size below 200 nm. The mechanism of encapsulation of atRA into LMWSC nanoparticles was thought to be an ion complex formation between LMWSC and atRA. LMWSC nanoparticles showed high atRA loading efficiency over 90$\%$ (w/w). AtRA was continuously released from nanoparticles over 10 days. In in vitro cell cytotoxicity test, free atRA showed higher cytotoxic effect against CT 26 colon carcinoma cell line on 1 day. However, RAC nanoparticles showed similar cytotoxicity against CT 26 cells on 2 day. These results suggest the potential for the introduction of LMWSC nanoparticles into various biomedical fields such as drug delivery.

  • A newflexible $N_2O_2$-type tetradentate ligand. Ethylenediamine-N,N'-di-${\alpha}$-isobutyric acid(eddib), has been synthesized, and dichloro cobalt(III) complex of eddib has been prepared via the air-oxidation technique. Only S-cis isomer has been yielded during the preparation of complex. Ring strain and steric hinderance are cited as the cause for the preference for the S-cis geometric configuration. On series of cobalt(III) complexes of eddib, $[Co(eddib)L]^{n+}$ $(L = Cl{\cdot}(H_2O),\;CO_3^{2-},\;(H_2O)_2)$have been prepared in situ. In their electronic absorption spectra, the absorption maxima and their intensities of the above series of complexes are on the ordinary line of the spectrochemical and hyperchromic series. Elemental analysis, IR, NMR and electronic absorption spectra have been used to characterize the complex and geometries of the complex.

  • In this paper, we proposed a numerical model the complex permittivity for the E-glass fabric/epoxy composite laminate containing electrical conductive carbon black. The model is based on the percolation theory and for the composites over than the percolation threshold and in higher frequency band in that the AC conductivity is fully proportional to the frequency. The measurement for the complex permittivity wasperformed at the frequency band of 0.5 GHz $\sim$ 18.0 GHz using a vector network analyzer with a 7 mm coaxial air line. The proposed model is composed of the numerical equations of the scaling law used in percolation theory and constants obtained from experiments to quantify the model itself. The model describes the complex permittivity as the function of frequency and filler concentration. The model was verified by being compared with the measurements.

  • In this study, we provided an index for the quantitative and systematic performance based fire risk assessment. A complex cinema was adopted for the fire scenario and the fire simulation was carried out by using FDS. Also evacuation time was calculated by using SIMULEX. We obtained a big different fire risk assessment result by the focus on the between space basis and the time basis. As a result of this study, performance based fire risk assessment should be performed on the basis of individual evacuee's path line.

  • Roads which were not considered conditions such as capacity of the traffic have made seriously traffic problems and complex road lines. Construction of new roads have to make efficiently for solving the above problems and gain benefits. Simulation using 3D-GIS help find a matter of the design and do understanding users who work In the practical businesses. This study is showed selection of the optimal road line based on 3D-GIS through the traffic modeling.

The project was contained order with GS Construction and Yooshin Corporation as a result of competition as 5 consortium. Urban Transit Magrev System route was constructed in the whole Yeongjong-dong and Yongyu-dong, Jung-gu, Inchen. The main project is via transportation center in Inchen Int'l airport ~ Work complex ~ Water park ~ Yongyu-station and has Total continuation of 6.1kilometers, Station of 6 spot, Car base of a spot, go out line(a single line) of 380meters. Scale of construction is Major of Roadbed, Railroad, Building, Inspection and Repair facilities. The first Urban Transit Magrev System in Korea is a new symbol of Korea and has polished beauty and creative artistry based on functional perfection. It was designed in harmony with Inchen Int'l Airport improving the dignity of SOC design.

A Case Study of Resolving Conflict in Energy Infrastructure Siting by the Solar PV Project

  • The growing demand for new energy infrastructure has often been encountered with the difficulties of siting in power plants and electric transmission lines. Siting such large-scale and complex facilities produces so many-sided issues that it is highly necessary to develop an approach to resolving the related problems and conflicts. This paper introduces how the stakeholders have handled the issues and resolved conflicts with residents opposed the construction of 765 kV transmission line. The solar photovoltaic power generation, called "Hee-Mang Sunlight Power project", is used for persuading residents to agree with constructing high-voltage transmission line and sharing benefits. It is considered how the project performance such as generation output and resident's profits is and proposed what the project should be revised and supplement. The project is shown that the intractable spiting in energy systems can be smartly resolved with cost-effective institutional solutions instead of relatively expensive technical ones.
