MAS(Moving Autoblock System) 방법을 이용한 한국형 고속전철의 선로 효율 분석 (Analysis of loading capacity of Korean High-Speed Train by using MAS(Moving Autoblock System) method)

  • A new block system - MAS (Moving Autoblock System) whose efficiency is higher than FAS(Fixed Autoblock System) in the loading capacity is required to accomodate the increasing transport volume. That MAS has higher efficiency has already been verified through various studies, especially in a line with different types of travelling trains. The efficiency of MAS for Korean high speed line with two different train model is analyzed by computer simulation. The results show that MAS is more efficient than FAS in the loading capacity.

  • Dynamic thermal rating of the overhead transmission lines is affected by many uncertain factors. The ambient temperature, wind speed and wind direction are the main sources of uncertainty. Measurement uncertainty is an important parameter to evaluate the reliability of measurement results. This paper presents the uncertainty analysis based on Monte Carlo. On the basis of establishing the mathematical model and setting the probability density function of the input parameter value, the probability density function of the output value is determined by probability distribution random sampling. Through the calculation and analysis of the transient thermal balance equation and the steady- state thermal balance equation, the steady-state current carrying capacity, the transient current carrying capacity, the standard uncertainty and the probability distribution of the minimum and maximum values of the conductor under 95% confidence interval are obtained. The simulation results indicate that Monte Carlo method can decrease the computational complexity, speed up the calculation, and increase the validity and reliability of the uncertainty evaluation.

쓰레기 관로 이송 시스템의 관로 압력강하 평가 (Pressure Drop in a Circular Pipe of Waste Collection Piping System)

  • This paper describes an evaluation method of pressure drop in a circular pipe of waste collection piping system. Accurate pressure drop in a piping system is very important to determine the capacity of turbo blower, which is one of the main elements in the system. Three-dimensional Navier-Stokes analysis is introduced to analyze the pressure drop in the piping system. Organic waste is selected and modeled using the result of site survey performed in an apartment area. Evaluation method of pressure drop used In the present numerical simulation is performed in the shortened pipe line prior to the calculation of the real system. Throughout the numerical simulation, pressure drop in a waste pipe is obtained and compared to the value determined by analytical method. The pressure drop obtained by numerical simulation has a good agreement with that of the analytic method. It is noted that present evaluation method is effective to determine a pressure drop in the piping system. Detailed flow characteristics inside the pipe line are also analyzed and discussed.

Channel Capacity Maximization in a Distorted 2×2 LOS MIMO Link

  • This paper presents a novel channel capacity maximization method for a distorted $2{\times}2$ line-of-sight (LOS) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) link. A LOS MIMO link may be distorted by the influence of environmental factors such that the channel capacity of the LOS MIMO link may be degraded. By using the proposed method, the channel capacity of a distorted $2{\times}2$ LOS MIMO link can be the same as that of the ideal $2{\times}2$ LOS MIMO link. The proposed method employs an additional receiver antenna to maximize the channel capacity. In contrast to a $3{\times}2$ LOS MIMO link, a receiver circuit for a third receiving antenna is not necessary. Hence, the receiver for the proposed method is much simpler than that for a $3{\times}2$ LOS MIMO link. We determine the optimal position of the additional receiver antenna analytically. Simulation results show that the channel capacity can approach the ideal using the proposed method.

협대역 ISDN을 위한 디지털 시스템 모델링과 통신로 용량의 한계 결정 (A Digital System Modelling for Narrow Band ISDN and A Decision Methodology of Channel Capacity Limitation)

  • In this paper, we have studied a channel capacity affected by noise which produces burst errors in the ISDN(approx 140Kbps) data transmission using a existing PSTN. First, a digital communication system model to apply a subscriber line to a narrow band ISDN channel is presented. Second, the decision methodology of a channel capacity limitation whether the pdf of the noise generated by a waveform synthesizer is Pisson or Laplacian is described. As a result of the simulation, we have obtained that the Poission distributed noise is approached to the Guassian rather than the Laplacian under the same SNR condition.

  • We analyze the channel capacity with considering the effect of the loading conditions of indoor PLC networks on channel state information. We consider various numbers of load for two kinds of the networks with regular length branches and a deployed network of indoor PLC. For calculating the channel capacity degradation, two noise scenarios and impedances are considered. From the simulation results, we suggest the robust regression lines for modeling the channel capacity degradation. In the cases of 0 $\Omega$ and $Z_0$ loads, natural log and linear function curve show the best goodness of fit, respectively. For the deployed indoor PLC network with 0 $\Omega$ loads, compared with the networks with regular length branches, the goodness of fit decreases by the amount of 0.12 and 0.15 for low noise and high noise scenarios, respectively. Using the regression lines, we can estimate the channel capacity degradation without measurement.

Experimental and numerical study on the collapse failure of long-span transmission tower-line systems subjected to extremely severe earthquakes

  • A long-span transmission tower-line system is indispensable for long-distance electricity transmission across a large river or valley; hence, the failure of this system, especially the collapse of the supporting towers, has serious impacts on power grids. To ensure the safety and reliability of transmission systems, this study experimentally and numerically investigates the collapse failure of a 220 kV long-span transmission tower-line system subjected to severe earthquakes. A 1:20 scale model of a transmission tower-line system is constructed in this research, and shaking table tests are carried out. Furthermore, numerical studies are conducted in ABAQUS by using the Tian-Ma-Qu material model, the results of which are compared with the experimental findings. Good agreement is found between the experimental and numerical results, showing that the numerical simulation based on the Tian-Ma-Qu material model is able to predict the weak points and collapse process of the long-span transmission tower-line system. The failure of diagonal members at weak points constitutes the collapse-inducing factor, and the ultimate capacity and weakest segment vary with different seismic wave excitations. This research can further enrich the database for the seismic performance of long-span transmission tower-line systems.

  • This paper presents a design of a simulation apparatus to evaluate an operational control algorithm for the PRT system. PRT systems require very short headways to increase the line capacity and a very reliable vehicle control algorithm for avoidance of the impact between vehicles. Therefore, it can be said that the development of an reliable operational control algorithm for the PRT systems is much more important than that of the hardware configurations. In this paper an apparatus is proposed which is composed of virtual vehicles, a central control system, a man-machine interface and monitoring device, making it possible for the designed operational control algorithm to be implemented and tested. For the test of the proposed apparatus a test operational control algorithm is designed and the experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed simulation apparatus for test and evaluation of the PRT operational control algorithms.

  • This paper describes a real time digital simulation method for the application of HTS tape to power devices. At present, in order to extend the power capacity of some area which has a serious problem of power quality, especially metropolitan complex city. there are so many problems such as ROW for cable line routes, space for downtown substations, and the environmental protection, etc. HTS technology is one of the best solutions. Simulation is required for safety before install of HTS power cable, a fabrication model used at the power system simulation. Here, in this paper, authors developed an algorithm connected with HTS by using Real-Time Digital Simulator(RTDS).

최적의 지하댐 입지 선정을 위한 효율적 평가 방법 개발 (Development of an Efficient Method to Evaluate the Optimal Location of Groundwater Dam)

  • 본 연구에서는 다양한 지하댐 입지조건에 대한 수치 모사 결과에 인공신경망 기반 반응 표면법을 적용함으로써 지하댐 건설에 따른 지하수 저류 가능량을 객관적으로 비교 및 평가할 수 있는 예측 모델을 구축하였다. 입지조건으로 기반암 및 충적층의 수리전도도, 하도의 깊이, 하도의 지하수 유동 방향으로의 경사가 고려되었다. 다양한 시나리오를 이용한 몬테카를로 기반 수치 모사 결과를 종합한 결과, 암반층 수리전도도 및 하도의 깊이가 지하댐 저유 효율에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 하도의 지하수 유동 방향으로의 경사도가 가장 미약한 영향력을 가지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 수치 모사 결과를 기반으로 설정된 입지조건과 이의 결과를 입력 및 출력으로 하는 인공신경망 기반 예측 모델을 구축하였다. 인공신경망 기반 예측 모델의 성능 평가 결과, 모델을 통해 예측된 저유량과 실제 수치 모사를 통해 산정된 저유량 간의 상관성이 0.9 이상의 높은 수치를 보임을 확인하였다. 따라서, 본 연구를 통해 개발된 비선형 예측 모델이 지하댐 개발 대상 지역에 대한 수치 모사 수행 없이 지하댐 건설에 따른 저유량을 즉각적으로 산정하는 데 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 또한, 개발된 예측 모델은 서로 다른 지역의 저유 가능량을 보다 객관적이고 효율적으로 비교하는데 이용될 수 있다. 따라서 개발된 모델은 국내 전 지역에 대하여 지하댐 개발 최적 입지를 선정하기 위한 효율적 도구로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
