  • This paper presents machine vision technique with a camera modeling that accounts for major sources of camera distortion, namely, radial, decentering, and thin prism distortion. Radial distortion causes an inward or outward displacement of a given image point from its ideal location. Actual optical systems are subject to various degrees of decentering, that is, the optical centers of lens elements are not strictly collinear. It is our purpose to develop the vision system for the pattern recognition and the automatic test of parts and to apply the line of manufacturing.

  • This paper presents machine vision technique with a camera modeling that accounts for major sources of camera distortion, namely,radial, decentering, and thin prism distortion. Actual optical systems are subject to varios degrees of decentering,that is,the optical centers of lens elements are not strictly collinear. Thin prism distortion arises form imperfection in lens design and manufacturing as well as camera assembly. It is our purpose to develop the vision system for the pattern recognition and the automatic test of and to apply the line of part manufacturing.

  • A method to find the line of sight ray in space which corresponds to a point in an image plane is presented. The line of sight ray is defined by two points which are the intersections between the two calibration planes and the sight ray. The intersection point is found by the oblique coordinate mapping between the image plane and the calibration plane in the space. The proposed oblique coordinate mapping method has advantages over the transformation matrix method in the required memory space and computation time.

  • A simple look and move type navigation algorithm with obstacle avoidance was implemented on a mobile robot equipped with two cameras. The robot gets a difference of two images from each camera and detects the position represented on the horizontal line and width of each obstacle in a certain distance. The obtained informations of obstacles are used to select a next intermediate point and to plan a path to it. Robot motion is simplified to straight line motion and rotation.

  • 센서를 사용한 구조물의 진동측정 시 여러 문제로 인해 사용의 제약을 받아왔다. 이를 극복 하고자 최근 카메라를 이용한 진동 측정 기술이 연구되고 있지만 보통 산업용 카메라의 낮은 샘플링 주파수로 인해 구조물의 진동 측정에 한계를 보였다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 라인 스캔 카메라의 높은 샘플링 주파수를 이용한 진동 측정 기술을 제안하고 실험을 통하여 성능검증을 수행하였다.

  • 자동차용 타이어중 측면에 백색문자가 들어가는 제품은 물류이송 및 유통과정에서의 오염방지를 위해 수성페인트를 도포한다. 이 작업을 라인스켄 카메라와 P.L.C를 이용하여 문자 위치 및 크기를 인식하여 노즐을 통해 자동 도포하는 설비개발을 목표로 시스템의 설계 및 시운전을 실시하였으며 인식 알고리즘의 개발로 화상인식 정도의 향상 및 PLC제어에 따른 유지보수성을 높일수 있었으며, 설비투자비용 역시 현저히 줄일수 있었다.

  • Recently, while 3D sports game increases, the research that it recognizes the operation of the real user actively progresses. Most of all, the research about the golf is active. In this paper, the image acquiring in a high-speed CCD camera measures the flight data of the golf ball through the image processing. While photographing, the high-speed camera, using this system, exposes an image at regular intervals. And line scan camera checks whether the golf ball passed or not. After the location information of the calculated golf ball calculates a speed and a direction by using the physical formula, it applies the golf simulation.

A New Solution for Projective Reconstruction Based on Coupled Line Cameras

  • We provide a new solution for the projective reconstruction problem based on coupled line cameras (CLCs) and their geometric properties. The proposed solution is composed of a series of optimized steps, and each step is more efficient than those of the initial solution proposed in [1]. We also give a new determinant condition for rectangle determination, which leads to less ambiguity in implementation. The key steps of the proposed solution can be represented with more compact analytic equations due to the intuitive geometric interpretations of the projective reconstruction problem based on CLCs: the center of projection corresponds to the intersection point of the two solution circles of each line camera involved.

  • When a construction company builds a high structure, many piles should be driven into the ground by a hammer whose weight is 7,000 Kg in order to make the ground under the structure safe and strong. So, it is essential to determine whether a pile is penetrated into the ground enough to support the weight of the structure since ground characteristics at different locations are different each other. This paper proposes a visual measurement system for pile rebound and penetration movement including vibration using a high-speed line-scan camera and a specially designed mark to recognize two-dimensional motion parameters of the mark using only a line-scan camera. A mark stacking white and black right-angled triangles is used for the measurement, and movement information for vertical distance, horizontal distance and rotational angle is determined simultaneously

  • This paper proposes a printing quality inspection system of film-type envelopment. Since the printing system is running at very high-speed (140m/min.) and the line error has very narrow width, we have to choose one-dimensional high-speed and high-resolution line scan camera. The vibration of the printing machine and the illumination environment make the inspection problem more harder. To obtain reliable inspection results, many software image processing techniques are applied and many parameters are tuned. The performance of the proposed system is proved by many simulations and long time real-plant experiments.
