인장하중이 작용하는 평판에 존재하는 반타원 표면균열의 J-적분 계산식 (Engineering J-Integral Estimation for Semi-Elliptical Surface Cracked Plates in Tension)

  • This paper provides d simplified engineering J estimation method fur semi-e1liptical surface cracked plates in tension, based on the reference stress approach. Note that the essential element of the reference stress approach is the plastic limit lead in the definition of the reference stress. However, for surface cracks, the definition of the limit load is ambiguous ("local" or "global"limit lead), and thus the most relevant limit load (and thus reference stress) for the J estimation should be determined. In the present work, such limit load solution is found by comparing reference stress bated J results with those from extensive 3-D finite element analyses. Validation of the proposed equation against FF J results based on tactual experimental tensile data of a 304 stainless steel shows excellent agreements not only far the J values at the deepest point but also for those at an arbitrary paint along the crack front, including at the surface point. Thus the present results provide a good engineering tool for elastic-plastic fracture analyses of surface cracked plates in tension.

Deformation characteristics of brick masonry due to partial unloading

  • Experimental investigation into the behaviour of half-scale brick masonry panels were conducted under cyclic loading normal to the bed joint and parallel to the bed joint. For each cycle, full reloading was performed with the cycle peaks coinciding approximately with the envelope curve. Unloading, however, was carried out fully to zero stress level and partially to two different stress levels of 25 percent and 50 percent of peak stress. Stability point limit exhibits a unique stress-strain curve for full unloading but it could not be established for partial unloading. Common point limit was established for all unloading-reloading patterns considered, but its location depends on the stress level at which unloading is carried to. Common point curves were found to follow an exponential formula, while residual strains versus envelope strains can be expressed by a polynomial function of a single term. The relation between residual strain and envelope strain can be used to determine the stress level at which deterioration due to cyclic loading began.

소형콘의 관입저항력을 이용한 점토의 액성한계측정에 관한 연구 (Study on the Measurement of Liquid Limit Using a Penetration Resistance of Small Cone in Clay Soil)

  • 본 연구에서는 소형콘의 관입저항력을 이용한 점토의 액성한계를 측정하기 위하여 카올리나이트 점토와 벤토나이트 점토의 비율을 다양하게 혼합한 점토흙에 대하여 함수비와 소형콘의 관입저항력을 조사하고 기존의 동적(Casagrande 시험법) 및 정적(Fall cone 시험법) 액성한계 시험결과와 직접 비교하였다. 비교결과 다양한 점토흙의 함수비에 따른 관입저항력 관계곡선에서 변곡점이 형성된다는 것을 파악하였으며 이 때의 함수비가 정적액성한계(Fall cone)시험법에 의한 액성한계 값과 매우 유사함을 파악하였다. 변곡점이 형성된 점에서의 소형콘의 관입저항력은 약 0.2kPa로 나타났으며 이 때 의 함수비가 점토흙의 액성한계를 나타낸다는 것을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 토대로 향후 점토의 액성한계를 파악하는데 본 연구에서 조사된 0.2kPa의 소형콘의 관입저항력이 유용한 지표가 될 수 있다는 사실을 파악하였다. 또한 소형콘의 관입저항력을 이용한 액성한계 시험법을 제시하였다.

초산부틸의 화재 및 폭발 특성치 측정 및 예측 (Measurement and Prediction of Fire and Explosion Characteristics of n-Butylacetate)

  • The flash point, explosion limits, autoignition temperature(AIT) are important combustible properties which need special concern in the chemical safety process that handle hazardous substances. For the evaluation of the flammable properties of n-butylacetate, this study was investigated the explosion limits of n-butylacetate in the reference data. The flash points, fire points and AIT by the ignition delay time of n-butylacetate were experimented. The lower flash points of n-butylacetate by using the Setaflash and Pensky-Martens closed-cup testers were $24^{\circ}C$ and $26^{\circ}C$, respectively. The flash points of n-butylacetate using the Tag and Cleveland open cup testers are measured $31^{\circ}C$ and $40^{\circ}C$, respectively. And the fire points of n-butylacetate by the Tag and Cleveland open cup testers were measured $32^{\circ}C$ and $41^{\circ}C$. The AIT of n-butylacetate measured by the ASTM 659E tester was measured as $411^{\circ}C$. The lower explosion limit of lower flash point $24^{\circ}C$, which was measured by the Setaflash tester, was calculated to be 1.40 vol%. Also, the upper explosion limit of upper flash point $67^{\circ}C$ the Setaflash tester was calculated to be 12.5 vol%.

  • This study evaluated the fatigue limit depending on microcracks using 0.57 wt.% carbon steel with different Vickers hardness. The fatigue limit was almost constant up to a certain limit regardless of the carbon content. However, the fatigue limit decreased rapidly as the size of the crack increased. As the crack aspect ratio was smaller, the fatigue limit of the depth (point A) a lot decreased. The fatigue limit ratio of the depth decreased significantly because the crack propagation in the depth direction was fast as the crack aspect ratio became smaller. On the other hand, the fatigue limit ratio of surface cracks increased as the crack aspect ratio decreased.

  • We introduce the notion of ${\gamma}$-fuzzy filter and ${\gamma}$-limit structure to L-fuzzy point. We show that the category ${\gamma}$Lim of ${\gamma}$-limit spaces is a cartesian closed topological construct containing the category LFTop of stratified L-fuzzy topological spaces as a bireflective subcategory.

  • In this paper, we study the existence and the stability of equilibria of predator-prey models with Ivlev's functional response. We give a simple proof for the uniqueness of limit cycles of the predator-prey system. The existence and the stability at the origin and a boundary equilibrium point(including the positive equilibrium point) are also investigated.

  • We get a theorem which shows the existence of at least four $2{\pi}$-periodic weak solutions for the bifurcation problem of the Hamiltonian system with the superquadratic nonlinearity. We obtain this result by using the variational method, the critical point theory induced from the limit relative category theory.

  • Let $Lu=u_{tt}+u_{xxxx}$ and E be the complete normed space spanned by the eigenfunctions of L. We reveal the existence of six nontrivial solutions of a nonlinear suspension bridge equation $Lu+bu^+=1+{\epsilon}h(x,t)$ in E when the nonlinearity crosses three eigenvalues. It is shown by the critical point theory induced from the limit relative category of the torus with three holes and finite dimensional reduction method.
