The compressed injection yellow ocher soil is the process-technology by drying the product through sunshine, not by firing like pottery and ceramic ware. It is the technology of development being able to achieve the far infrared ray and humidity adjustment by adding recycling paper, Korean paper and bamboo salt, and it corresponds with the construction enforcement ordinance 2007 as an interior-finishing product which is fire-resistant. In case that the yellow ocher soil would be used as lighting device and interior-finishing material and decoration, it could contribute to an improvement of National Health by avoiding the sick house syndrome and adding humidity adjustment, and it has more efficient economic effect due to using recycle-available additives. Through such developments of the yellow ocher soil products the domestic market of lighting device and construction material can be advanced and the replacement effect of imported goods & also export effect can be expected accordingly.

This study aimed to examine the theoretical consideration and concept of hybrid that could be applicable to wood product design, to analyze design trend according to the morphological transformation by means of combination of hybrid material and function, to understand the correlation between type of wood product and materials and to apply it to the domestic and overseas hybrid concept of wood product design study. A study of assembling output by empirical experiment to embed natural resources into acrylic resin in order to develop wood products was carried out. And an wood product was suggested that satisfied lighting and hanger function through a new wood product design development combined with hanger function and lighting function. Through such process, a new design paradigm was suggested to cope with the periodic trend and to induce mass production of designed product. Thus, this study set a new guideline for activating wood product design and attempted to meet the social demand of encouraging new value creation.

In the present work, we isolated and identified Aspergillus sydowii NYKA 510 as the most potent laccase producer. Its medium constituents were optimized to produce the highest possible amount of laccase, which was after 7 days at 31℃ and pH 5.2. Banana peel and peptone excelled in inducing laccase production at concentrations of 15.1 and 2.60 g/l, respectively. Addition of copper sulfate elevated enzyme yield to 145%. The fungus was employed in a microbial fuel cell (MFC). The best performance was obtained at 2000 Ω achieving 0.76 V, 380 mAm^-2, 160 mWm^-2, and 0.4 W. A project to design a self-sufficient lighting unit was implemented by employing a system of 2 sets of 4 MFCs each, connected in series, for electricity generation. A scanning electron microscopy image of A. sydowii NYKA 510 was utilized in algorithmic form generation equations for the design. The mixed patterning and patterned customized mass approach were developed by the authors and chosen for application in the design.

The social design, which appeared at the end of the 19th century, is getting attention along with problems in modern society. The purpose of this paper is to analyze several cases of social furniture designs, and to present its necessity and future direction. It classifies the cases of furniture, lighting and design project regarding social design into three types. First is furniture design for social minority. Second is sustainable design, and third is social design that delivers social message. The expected effects of social design are cost-efficiency, sociality, and environment-friendliness. Also, social design requires certain direction which is first; the designer should recognize the minorities in the world. Second, the designer is obliged to accomplish social mission, and last, he or she should be aware that the design creates added values.

The purpose of this study is to develop living room storage furniture with multiple functions and for analyzing living room system furniture that can correspond with lifestyles in the living room. Literature survey was used by collecting data on interior design books and magazines. System furniture is very functional depending on the purpose and spaces, and can be modified effectively with the development of design based on the resident's demand. Living room furniture was mostly arranged by two types. One was lower and slimmer in order to use the space effectively, the other totally occupied one side of the living room wall. Furniture combined with multiple functions of lights and electronics can increase the satisfaction and convenience of users. And furniture maximizes storage space and is systemized so that mixture and arrangement are diversified. Flexible and active way furniture that accept various electronic fixtures and performances in the living room. Furniture forms, materials, and colors will be designed for the functions and atmosphere of living rooms. This results will contribute to develop furniture that has additional features such as lighting and electronic appliances hereafter.

This study was jointly conducted by the department of nursing science in a college of natural sciences and the furniture design department in the art and physical education to research the critical factors for the furniture development for the Elderly in consideration of the surging number of senior citizens not only in Korea but also globally. On the basis of the Elderly's physical and mental characteristics investigated by the department of nursing science, the furniture design guideline for the Elderly was presented. The following points should be considered at designing the furniture for the Elderly. First, multiple functions like chair with removable toilet bowl and part lighting in bed are advantageous. Second, the dimension of furniture such as chair, bed and sofa should be ergonomically thought in terms of structure for the Elderly's convenience. Third, the bright and vivid color of furniture should be chosen from the aspect of the design, while the different kinds of blue should be avoided. Small patterns and high glossy are not recommendable, but various kinds of feelings in different shapes are suggested. Forth, the material should contribute to the fracture prevention and for that sponge, fabric and leather smoothing the surface of furniture are recommendable as the finishing treatment in a wide variety of colors.

This research aims to suggest the composition of multi-functional furniture for single households, responding to the changes of consumption pattern caused by the recent trends of the single-person household living in a small residential space. It is expected that a multi-functional furniture for single households in the current context should be increased the efficiency of spaces. Using a customized questionnaire, we examined the preferences of multi-functional furniture composition for single households. A questionnaire was developed by collecting images using key words related to multi-functional furniture and analyzing the final images by multi-functionality, furniture classification system and behavior. The most preferred multi-functional furniture composition are counter-tops and chest of drawers, followed by chest of drawers and beds, counter-tops and tableware, lighting and beds, closets and drawers. This research contributes significantly in that it suggests the basic data of optimized flexible multi-functional furniture design for single-person household by linking various behaviors and furniture in the house.

Wooden artifacts are generally manufactured by lacal materials with cultural characteristics. Bamboo crafts province In recent years, production decreased due to products using resin and new materials, and in particularm the traditional bamboo craftsmanship is in a situation of extinction. Among the techniques of bamboo craftsmanship, Lamtae lacquer technique which lacquers on bamboo crafts made of piece bamboo and weaving pattern is applied to wooden craft, and the purpose of this study was to develop the products that can be utilzed in the modern residential space, and to make the skill of wood crafts using bamboo be developed and spread the prototype was made of traditional bamboo acts and crafts, furniture made of piece bamboo and weaving pattern, and wooden artifacts such as stationary goods and lighting.

The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of the office space as designed by Gwathemy Siegel and thereby to understand the current trend of interior design of working space in the United States. Unlike most architects, Gwathmey Siegel have extended themselves into interior designing of over twenty offices including law firms, financial institutions and design firms and have successfully won reputation as interior designers. They have distinguished themselves by their ability to turn up and take advantage of the possbility of shaping in a given structure. Their liberal use of fixed furniture and architectural lighting , in addition to ceilings and walls , set them apart from others in the field . The major design elements and principles of Gwathmey Siegel include, among others : 1) Curved and slanted walls on the floor plans endow the office space with forms. Fixed furniture and architectural lighting frequently serve as from -creating elements. 2) The openness of the reception and waiting areas and the irregularity of the corridor walls add a sense of variety in the office. 3) In terms of color and materials, subtle changes of texture and value and the various patterns of joint lines further enrich the space. 4) The principle of symmetry , rough or partial , as applied in the layout of rooms and furniture creates a sense of balance in the space.
