  • These Days a lot of Noise Complaints in vicinity of Railway has been more increase than before. Almost 1/3 Residences who lives in Railway side are Exposure to Noise Pollution. Since the Apartment Buildings around Railway are getting more higher, so those of the Noise Barrier are not best solution anymore. We are going to make a New Plane with the state of the art technology for Railway Noise Abatement Control. Our Goal are focus on a development of Light Weight Noise Tunnel designed by new absorption mat'l and tunnel Stucture on the Overbridge and Viaduct of existing Railway. New Noise Tunnel will be reducing their weight more than 30% against Road Traffic One and also 10dB(A) Noise Reduction against Noise Barrier.

  • As spreading of train concrete ballast leads to the increase resounding friction noise, an porous sound absorbing block is applied in urban train tunnel as a counterparts against the friction noise. Three steps of major variables tests for an optimal mix design of the block are conducted to pursue the light weight of the block. Pilot property tests of the block for the cases of the fly-ash only as lightweight aggregates are carried satisfying KRT(Korean Rail Transit) and new KRS(Korean Railway Standards). Based on the results of pilot tests, required structural strength and admixture effects are evaluated. Additionally, typical lightweight aggregates are replaced so that lightweight and strength are improved for serviceability of poor working conditions and proper maintenance in urban train tunnel.

  • Optical Temperature Distribution measurement System (OTDS) is completely different from conventional electric point sensor in that it uses the optical fiber itself as the sensor. This new concept in temperature measuring system requires only one fiber to be laid. The use of optical fiber also gives the advantage of small diameter, light weight, explosion resistance, and electromagnetic noise resistance. The OTDS is a sensor which is capable of making a precise measurement over a wide range of areas using only a single optical fiber. Since current temperature sensors, such as the thermocouple, are only used to measure temperaturea of point, they are almost impractical for measuring a wider range because of the extremely high cost. In comparision with current sensors, the optical fiber distributed temperature sensor can make much quicker and more precise measurements at a comparatively low cost.

  • In this study, the internal structural design, dynamic characteristics and load analyses of the small scaled rotor blade required for LCH(Light Civil Helicopter) main rotor wind tunnel test were carried out. The test is performed to evaluate the aerodynamic performance and noise characteristics of the LCH main rotor system. Therefore, the Mach-scale technique was appled to design the small scaled blade to simulate the equivalent aerodynamic characteristics as the full scale rotor system. It is necessary to increase the rotor speed to maintain the same blade tip speed as the full scale blade. In addition, the blade weight, section stiffness, and natural frequency were scaled according to the Mach-type scaling factor(${\lambda}$). For the design of skin, spar, torsion box, which are the main components of the blade, carbon and glass fiber composite materials were adopted, and composite materials are prepreg types that can be supplied domestically. The KSec2D program was used to evaluate the section stiffness of the blade. Also, structural loads and dynamic characteristics of the Mach scale blade were investigated through the comprehensive rotorcraft analysis program CAMRADII.
