  • In this study, the stability of fishing boat inducing the change of fishing lamp in accordance with the installation of induction lamp in comparison with metal halide lamp was investigated. Inclining test for 8.55 ton class of hair-tail angling fishing boat was performed in order to find a GM and light weight. A stability calculation of the target fishing boat on the basis of KST-SHIP program was evaluated. The stability of the fishing boat with a metal halide lamp such as induction lamp according to the result obtained by the inclining test is slightly different, and the stability is not so much affected. Due to the induction lamp installation, the wind area increased by about 3.178 m2. Before installing the induction fishing lamp, G0M was found to be 0.209 at full load departure and 0.296 at departure from fishing ground. After installing the induction lamp, the full load departure condition is 0.178 and the fishing ground departure condition is 0.260. The G0M value before and after installation of the induction fishing lamp shows a difference of about 3% at the full load departure condition. The value of the critical angle of inclination definition showed a difference of about 16%. Despite these differences, it is lower than the regulations; it was confirmed that there will be no significant difference unless it is in an overloaded state.

  • Flux level is low in the maximum efficiency control of a stator flux-oriented control of induction motor under the light load. In this cast if the loaf torque is suddenly increased, torque component current is limited to the low level by torque-limit condition because of the low flux level. In this paper, a technique to solve the problem is proposed.

  • A constant V/F control system of voltage contrlled PWM inverter has a unstable operation of the low- speed and the light-load. In this paper, the authors propose stability control with idealized operation of induction motor by the neglect of primary leakage inductance and resistance. Also ldealized operation system is adopted voltage error, feed back impedance circuit, and increasing resistance from dead time of switching is compensated by the soft ware with u-processors. The proposed simulation of the idealized control method is proved at the low-speed operation for three phase induction motor.

  • Linear induction motor performance for a light-weight urban transit has been established and verified. In this paper, linear induction motor is analyzed by finite-element method to consider influence of construction of secondary reaction plate on the transverse edge effect. With this effective analysis method, various models with overhang and cap have been analyzed to consider the relationship between the construction of secondary reaction plate and the transverse edge effect.

  • The effect of proline, glutamine, aspartic acid and their combinations on callus induction and embriogenic callus formation from 3 creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris) cv. Regent, Mariner, Cato and 1 colonial bentgrass (Agrostis tenuis) cv. Tiger was estimated in both light and dark condition. The addition of amino acids to the growth medium did not have a significant stimulatory effect on the induction of embryogenic callus, instead, they were inhibitory, particularly at higher concentration (40 mM). But supplement of amino acids at lower concentrations (5 or 10mM) to basal medium was beneficial in inhibiting the formation of hairy outgrowth on the surface of embryogenic callus.

  • Single-phase induction motors are widely used in many light duty applications, especially in home and office. many applications which use these motors require adjustable speed control continuously. In general, the speed control of single-phase induction motor is accomplished at a few discrete speeds by using tapped-windings, pole switching or gear. These techniques are inefficient and complicated. In this paper, Torque controller which adjusts a generating torque using phase difference between main winding voltage and auxiliary winding voltage is proposed. The analysis includes the determination of the relationship between the auxiliary winding voltage is proposed. The analysis includes the determination of the relationship between the auxiliary winding voltage phase angle and torque. Simulation results of the torque-speed characteristics using the controlled auxiliary winding supply are shown and discussed. and the drive is tested experimentally to verify the results of the theory by using a dynamometer.

  • In many plant cells, the positions of chloroplasts change in response to changes in light conditions. In the epidermal cells of the aquatic angiosperm Vallisneria gigantea, the avoidance response of chloroplasts is induced specifically by irradiation with blue light of high intensity. Possible roles of actin cytoskeleton in the blue-light-induced avoidance response of chloroplasts were investigated by partial irradiation and phalloidin staining. We showed that the blue-light-dependent redistribution of chloroplasts was induced only in the limited area, where exposed to blue light, even in individual cells. In addition. in the exposed area, the configuration of actin filaments strikingly changed compared with that before the irradiation. Short and thick bundles of actin filaments surrounding the chloroplasts changed to much longer and thinner bundles with a more stretched array. In contrast, in the unexposed area, neither the distribution of chloroplasts nor the configuration of actin filaments exhibited any changes. Cytochalasin D and latrunculin B inhibited the avoidance response of chloroplasts concomitantly with the fragmentation of actin filaments. These results indicate that the reorganization of actin filaments plays a crucial role in the induction of avoidance response of chloroplasts.

  • The amounts of ascorbic acid in chloroplasts treated with light and light+paraquat (PQ) were reduced by 81 and 82% of initial level, respectively at 24 hr at incubation. And those treated with dark and dark+PQ were decreased by W and 55% of the original level, respectively. Malondialdehyde (MDA) contents at 24 hr of dark and dark+PQ treatment were increased by 6 and 31% of the initial level, respectively. When chloroplasts were treated with light and light+PQ, MDA contents after 24 hr were increased by 88 and 146% of the initial level, respectively. SOD activities treated with light and light+PQ were increased by 10 and 20% of the initial level, respectively for 3 hr and thereafter reduced by 46 and 49% of the original level, respectively at 24 hr. However, the SOD activities treated with dark and dark+PQ were decreased by 37 and 30% of the initial level, respectively. It is considered that PQ triggers the oxidation of ascorbic acid, the induction of lipid peroxidation and the inactivation of SOD under light so that PQ has inhibitors effect on the pathway of plant metabolism. Key word: ascorbic acid, malondialdehyde, superoxide dismutase, paraquat, lipid peroxidation.

  • The key factors for high-density Haematococcus pluvialis cultures and conditions for astaxanthin induction were examined to maximize astaxanthin production. Light intensity was found to be the most important factor, and thus experiments were found to be the most important factor, and thus experiments were carried out using different light sources and intensities. A high cell density of over 2.7 g/l was obtained at $75{\mu}E/m^2/s$, whereas a much lower cell concentration (<1.0 g/ 1) was obtained with lower light intensities $(15-30{\mu}E/m^2/s$. A high light intensity and the supplement of 470 nm photons had a more dramatic effect on the final astaxanthin concentration and per cell astaxanthin content. A maximum astaxanthin concentration of 6.5 mg/l was obtained at a light intensity of $160{\mu}E/m^2/s$, whereas only 1.3 and 0.7 mg/l were obtained at 30 and $15{\mu}E/m^2/s$, respectively. A supplement of 470 nm photons enhanced the carotenoid and chlorophyll formation.
