  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the discretionary consumption expenditure of Korean urban housewives and the factors contributing to the discretionary consumption expenditure. 535 housewives living in Seoul and Gyungki district were selected and frequencies percentile means standard deviation and multiple-regression analysis were utilized. The results of this study were as follows: First the monthly discretionary consumption expenditure of Korean urban housewives was 592,500won. Particularly the level of clothing expenditure for urban housewives of 135,700won was found to be the highest expenditure among other discretionary expenditures while the level of transportation expenditure of 68,100won was found to be the lowest expenditure. Second educational attainment employment status conspicuous tendency of consumption and contribution to household economic of urban housewives husband's job the number of children monthly income debt ownership and home ownership were ignificant variables on each category of discretionary consumption expenditure while age future economic expectation egion and total asset were not significant variables. Third employment status conspicuous tendency of consumption husband's job the number of children monthly income and debt ownership were related to discretionary consumption expenditure of Korean urban housewives.

  • To enhance the utilization of the traffic channels of a network (instead of allocating radio channel to an individual user), a channel or a group of channels are allocated to a user group. The idea behind this is the statistical distribution of traffic arrival rates and the service time for an individual user or a group of users. In this paper, we derive the blocking probability and throughput of a subscriber station of Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) by considering both the connection level and packet-level traffic under a complete partition scheme. The main contribution of the paper is to incorporate the traffic shaping scheme onto the incoming turbulent traffic. Hence, we have also analyzed the impact of the drain rate of the buffer on the blocking probability and throughput.

  • A lattice model of a typical bridge column section is analyzed, and results are presented. The lattice is built as an ensemble of line elements and masses, that can capture strain rate dependency of concrete material. The research mainly breaks up into two parts: First, a micro level analysis of the material is executed, and control parameters of the governing equations are derived by matching the results with the common macroscopic properties of concrete material. Then, the properties exhibited by the micro model, which extends the classical material properties are applied to the mesoscale model. Hence, the analysis of the target structure can be performed. In the mesoscale analysis, ramp-like impulse loads are applied at different velocity, so that the contribution of the material level rate dependency to the global behavior of the structure can be tracked.

  • This study deals how employees' perceptions of being supported by their organizations and supervisors may lead to organizational commitment and this commitment affects turnover intention and organizational citizenship behavior in the context of Thai industrial firms. The sample consists of Thai employees working in manufacturing firms which Koreans operate in Thailand. In line with social exchange theory, this study indicated that employees who felt that their organizations and supervisors valued their contribution and cared about their well-being would be more likely to have lower level of turnover intention and higher level of organizational citizenship behavior. Moreover, it was found affective and normative commitment partially mediated the effect of perceived organizational and supervisor support on organizational citizenship behavior. This study enhances our understanding about the roles of organizational commitment in the Thai workplace, and provides some practical implications how to manage Thai employees.

  • Wind farm interconnected with grid can supply the power into a power network not only the normal conditions, but also the fault conditions of distribution network. If the fault happened in the distribution power line with wind fm, the fault current level measured in a relaying point might be lower than that of distribution network without wind turbine generator due to the contribution of wind farm. Consequently, it may be difficult to detect the fault happened in the distribution network connected with wind generator This paper describes the effect of the interconnected wind turbine generators on protective relaying of distribution power lines and detection of the fault occurred in a power line network. Simulation results shows that the current level of fault happened in the power line with wind farm depends on the fault impedance, the fault location. the output of wind farm. and the load condition of distribution network.

  • This study was to analyze important dimensions and its factors of micro level of e-learning determining the quality of e-learning. E-learning dimensions and their factors were identified and developed from the analytical review of related researches. From literature review and survey as well as expert interview, six categories of e-learning identified from this study were: 1) curriculum content, 2) usability, 3) instructional design, 4) evaluation -both process and results, 5) management, and 6) refinement and improvement. A total of thirty-seven factors determining the quality of the e-learning six categories were identified. The rank order and contribution rates for each categories and factors were calculated to explain how importantly they contribute to the quality of e-learning. Also three dimensions such as controlling the e-learning quality, e-learning fundamental dimension e-learning process dimension, and e-learning product dimension, were explained. This study suggests a useful guidance for e-learning quality and evaluation framework for better results.

  • Companies need to secure strong methods of new product development in a rapidly changing competitive environment. They overly focusing on the perception of consumers can not lead radical changes. They need to generate sufficient creative ideas in the early stages of new product development to make radical change. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of a creative method on the generation of creative ideas. An enhanced creativity method was designed considering existing methodology and cognitive elements. This study specifically focused on team rather than individual level creativity. This arrangement reflects the fact that companies in practice rely on team unit in NPD process. The contribution of the study is two fold : enhancing existing methodology, and testing the effect of conceptual distance on making of creative ideas. The experimental results showed that appropriate conceptual distance help to make best creative output and that ABIS attribute is proved to be more effective than traditional association.

  • High-energy mechanical action applied to solid leads to destruction and diminution to the nanosize level. But on the other hand, it can induce structural changes at the nanoscale and at the atomic level which can result in novel materials properties. In this contribution, case studies will be presented concerned with the tailoring of magnetic properties of mechanically treated nanomaterials. Emphasis is placed on materials that have been synthesized by mechanochemical means and on an improved understanding of their nanomagnetism in general. The associated local structural changes of the iron containing magnetic materials discussed in the examples have been studied most suitably by $^{57}Fe$ Mossbauer nuclear probe spectroscopy whose results are supplemented by measurements of the magnetic properties of the mechanosynthesized nanomaterials.

  • This study focused on factors influencing Internal and external problem (depression and antisocial) behavior among late-elementary children. Subjects were 481 boys and girls enrolled in the fourth. fifth. and sixth grades of public school. The contribution of grade. sex. stress, self-esteem. and social support from parents, teachers, and friends as well as school performance were studied. The instruments were the Adolescent Perceived Events Scale, the Self-Esteem Scale, the Social Support Scale for Children, the Revised Korean Version of the Center for Epidemiologic Studies' Depression Scale and Antisocial Behavior Scale. Results indicated that sex, stress, self-esteem, and the support of parents, teachers and friends reduced the level of depression. Grade, sex, stress, self-esteem, and teachers' support were related to the level of antisocial behavior. The results were discussed in terms of the effects of stress, personal and social resources, and school achievement on depression and antisocial behavior.

  • Flow and thermal characteristics of cooling system for the robot controller were numerically as well as experimentally investigated. To obtain the overall flows within controller, the system level solutions were analysed at first and then the board level solutions were pursued to understand the detailed flow and temperature fields near the main board which have a significant influence on the cooling of electronic components. The evaluation for a performance of the heat exchanger was conducted on the basis of the obtained flow and temperature patterns. The results showed that the heat exchanger made a small contribution to the cooling of controller and caused an increase of the temperature in CPU.
