Constant .DELTA.K fatigue crack growth rate experiments were performed by applying an intermediate single and multiple overload for structural steel, SM45C. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the influence of multiple overloads at various stress intensity factor ranges and the effect of statistical variability of crack retardation behavior. The normalized delayed load cycle, delayed crack length and the minimum crack growth rate are increased with increasing baseline stress intensity factor range when the overload ratio and the number of overload application were constant. The crack retardation under low baseline stress intensity factor range increases by increasing the number of overload application, but the minimum crack growth rate decreases by increasing the number of overload application. A strong linear correlation exists between the minimum crack growth rate and the number of overload applications. And, it was observed that the variability in the crack growth retardation behavior are presented, the probability distribution functions of delayed load cycle, delayed crack length and crack growth life are 2-parameter Weibull. The coefficient of variation of delayed load cycle and delayed crack length for the number of 10 overload applications data are 14.8 and 9.2%, respectively.

Although the Relative Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning technique provides high accuracy, it has several drawbacks. The scarcity of control points, the long baselines, and using of ultra-rabid and rabid products increased position errors. This study has designed a New MATLAB Program that helps users automatically select suitable IGS stations related to the baseline lengths and the azimuth between GNSS points and IGS stations. This study presented criteria for the length of the baselines used in Egypt and an advanced estimated accuracy before starting the project. The experimental test studies the performance of the position accuracy related to the relation between three factors: observation session, final, rabid, and ultrarabid products, and the baseline lengths. Ground control point mediates Egypt was selected as a test point. Nine surrounding IGS stations were selected as reference stations, and the coordinates of the tested point were calculated based on them. Baselines between the tested point and the IGS stations were classified regarding proposal criteria. The coordinates of the tested point were obtained in different observation sessions (0.5, 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7.5 h). The results indicated that the lengths of the baseline in Egypt were classified short (less than 600 km), medium (600-1,200 km), and long (greater than 1,200 km) and required a minimum observation time of 4, 5, and 7 h to obtain accuracy 10, 19, 48 mm sequentially. The position accuracy was superior for the rapid and the final than the ultra-rapid products by 16%. A short baseline was at the best case; there was a performance in position accuracy with a 57% deduction in observation time compared with the long baseline.

In order to apply the network adjustment, the correct ambiguities between each of reference stations must be calculated. This paper focused on the comparison of ambiguity resolution between the reference stations. Three hours test data with different baseline length from 20 km to 60 km have been analyzed. The results show that the time-to-fix between 20 km and 40 km is typically under 1 minute. However, over 60km baseline, the time-to-fix performance degrades.

According to the different baseline lengths, we quantitatively analyzed how much precision of the baseline de-termination is improved for GPS survey when using the precise ephemeris instead of the broadcast ephemeris of GPS satellites. For this research, we selected seven baselines ranging from 15 km to 201 km and performed GPS measurements more than six times for each baseline. The observed data for each baseline were processed two times with the same conditions alternately changing the broadcast and the precise ephemeris. The standard deviations from the repeated measurements for each baseline are compared between the results of using the broadcast ephemeris and the precise ephemeris. As the result, the precision, stability and reliability of the base-line determination using the precise ephemeris is better than those of using the broadcast ephemeris for all base-lines. When using precise ephemeris for the baselines longer than 65 km, the precision less than 0.1ppm is always obtained and the precision improvement rate by using the precise ephemeris is considerably greater than that for the shorter baselines. We expect that this result might be a quantative basis for the decision about what ephemeris is better for the baseline length and the demanded precision in GPS survey.

As the exact geographical information has been nowadays required for effective developing and using of national land, in the country, there has been interested in using of GPS, and its practical use is expected. Various kinds of fundamental research for practical use of GPS is being accomplished. In this study, a test was carried out over 9 stations with baseline of the range of 1.5 to 210km, and the accuracy of baseline length by GPS relative positioning was variously considered. As result of this study, using a GPS receiving L1 frequency only, baseline accuracy for 2 hour observation was of the order of 0.3ppm for the 10km, and for I hour was below 1ppm. Using a GPS receiving dual frequency(L1/L2), baseline accuracy was of the order of 0.3ppm for the 100km to 200km as 3 hour observation using double difference methods by carrier phase. With basic on the result of this study, when observation and baseline processing are proceeded by the selected optimum observation time and using of baseline processing method, we can expect that geographical information will be acquired effectively.

Purpose: This study compares and analyzes the image quality of 3D-CBCT(Cone Beam Computed-Tomography) and Gated CBCT according to baseline changes during SBRT(Stereotactic Body RadioTherapy) in lung cancer patients to find a useful CBCT method for correcting movement due to breathing Materials and methods : Insert a solid tumor material with a diameter of 3 cm into the QUASARTM phantom. 4-Dimentional Computed-Tomography(4DCT) images were taken with a speed of the phantom at period 3 sec and a maximum amplitude of 20 mm. Using the contouring menu of the computerized treatment planning system EclipseTM Gross Tumor Volume was outlined on solid tumor material. Set-up the same as when acquiring a 4DCT image using Truebeam STxTM, breathing patterns with baseline changes of 1 mm, 3 mm, and 5 mm were input into the phantom to obtain 3D-CBCT (Spotlight, Full) and Gated-CBCT (Spotlight, Full) images five times repeatedly. The acquired images were compared with the Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR), Contrast-to-Noise Ratio(CNR), Tumor Volume Length, and Motion Blurring Ratio(MBR) based on the 4DCT image. Results: The average Signal-to-Noise Ratio, Contrast-to-Noise Ratio, Tumor Volume Length and Motion Blurring Ratio of Spotlight Gated CBCT images were 13.30±0.10%, 7.78±0.16%, 3.55±0.17%, 1.18±0.06%. As a result, Spotlight Gated-CBCT images according to baseline change showed better values than Spotligtht 3D-CBCT images. Also, the average Signal-to-Noise Ratio, Contrast-to-Noise Ratio, Tumor Volume Length and Motion Blurring Ratio of Full Gated CBCT images were 12.80±0.11%, 7.60±0.11%, 3.54±0.16%, 1.18±0.05%. As a result Full GatedCBCT images according to baseline change showed better values than Full 3D-CBCT images. Conclusion : Compared to 3D-CBCT images, Gated-CBCT images had better image quality according to the baseline change, and the effect of Motion Blurring Artifacts caused by breathing was small. Therefore, it is considered useful to image guided using Gated-CBCT when a baseline change occurs due to difficulty in regular breathing during SBRT that exposes high doses in a short period of time

Impact of tropospheric correction techniques on accuracy of the GPS (Global Positioning System) derived ellipsoidal heights has been experimentally assessed in this paper. To this end, 247 baselines were constructed from a total of 88 CORS (Continuously Operating Reference Stations) in Korea. The GPS measurements for seven days, acquired from the so-called integrated GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) data center via internet connection, have been processed by two baseline processing software packages with an application of the empirical models, such as Hopfield, modified Hopfield and Saastamoinen, and the estimation techniques based on the DD (Double-Differenced) measurements and the PPP (Precise Point Positioning) technique; hence a total number of the baseline processed and tested was 8,645. Accuracy and precision of the estimated heights from the various correction schemes were analyzed about baseline lengths and height differences of the testing baselines. Details of these results are summarized with a view to hopefully providing an overall guideline of a suitable selection of the modeling scheme with respect to processing conditions, such as the baseline length and the height differences.

Botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) has a local effect at the neuromuscular junction by blocking acetylcholine release and thus causing paralysis and atrophy of the affected muscles. In dentistry, Botulinum toxin type A(BTX-A) is used for the treatment of masseteric hypertrophy, temporomandibular disorder, and severe bruxism related neurologic disorder. We hypothesized that the muscle atrophy after BTX-A injection into masseter muscle in growing rats, could affect the jaw growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the BTX-A injected into the masseter muscle on the jaw growth in rats. Rats were divided into four groups(group 1; control group, group 2; saline injection group, group 3; BTX-A injection group, group 4; baseline control group). Group 4 was sacrificed at the beginning of the experiment to provide baseline values of jaw measurements. The weight, length and width of jaw in those groups were measured every weeks. This study reported that the mandibular body length, condylar length, coronoid process length, anterior region height, coronoid process height and condylar height of the jaw in BTX-A injection group were shorter than those of the control and saline injection groups(P<0.05). In conclusion, BTX-A injected into the masseter muscle may affect the undergrowth of the jaw in rats.
Purpose: The use of soy-based infant formula has increased widely in infants with cow's milk allergy (CMA). This study aimed to provide evidence on the growth pattern of CMA infants fed with soy-based infant formula in an Indonesian setting. Methods: A multi-site, intervention study was conducted among full-term and normal birth weight CMA infants. Within six months, the subjects were provided with a soy-based infant formula. Weight, height, and head circumference were measured at baseline, weeks 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, and 24. Adverse events were recorded by scoring atopic dermatitis and symptom-based clinical scores. Results: Based on the World Health Organization growth chart, we found that most of subjects had normal nutritional status for weight-for-age, length-for-age, weight-for-length, and head-circumference-for-age. There were statistically significant differences between baseline and end-line for weight-for-age, length-for-age, weight-for-length, and head circumference-for-age nutritional status. No allergic symptoms or intolerance toward soy formula were observed at the end of the intervention period. Conclusion: These results show that infants fed with soy-based infant formula have a normal pattern of growth.

Background: Although studies on physical motor learning through motor imagery training have been conducted in various fields, studies on its effectiveness are still considered insufficient. Objective: To investigate the effect of motor imagery training and balance training on static balance of asymptomatic adults in their 20s. Design: A quasi-experimental study. Methods: Thirty-six adults in their 20s who passed the tandem stance test were randomized to the motor imagery training group (MIG, n=12), motor imagery with balance training group (MIBG, n=12), and balance training group (BG, n=12). Each group underwent their respective interventions three times a week for four weeks, and changes in static balance were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance. Results: Trace length was significantly lower in the MIBG than in the MIG and BG (P<.05), and a significant reduction in trace length in the MIBG was observed after the intervention as compared to the baseline (P<.05). Furthermore, a significantly lower velocity was observed in the MIBG than in the MIG and BG (P<.05), and a significant reduction of velocity in the MIBG was more observed after the intervention compared to the baseline (P<.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that motor imagery training enhance static balance in healthy college students.
