The Effects of work and psychosocial stress on job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and leaving intention in general hospital female office workers (종합병원 사무직 여성의 직무 및 사회심리적 스트레스가 직무만족, 조직몰입, 이직의향에 미치는 영향)

  • This study tires to examine affects that job and socio-psychological stresses of female office workers influence job satisfaction, organization commitment, and leaving intentions. A complete data are collected by conducting a survey with 240 female office workers from 9 medical institutions regarded as almost general hospital in Seoul. It is analyzed that the relation between socio-psychological stress and job satisfaction, organization commitment, and leaving intentions by using t-test; analysis of variance; correlation analysis; principal component analysis; linear structural equation modeling; etc. The results of this study are summarized as following. First, as it was comprehended by specific characteristics of subjects that the female office workers' level of job and socio-psychological stress, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and leaving intention, there were statistically significant distinctions from their age, marital status, presence of children, position in the organization, type of employment, and monthly average income. Second, this study regarded relationship between the female office workers' level of job and socio-psychological stresses, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and leaving intention. Job and socio-psychological stresses were negatively correlated with job satisfaction and organizational commitment, but the stresses were positive with leaving intention. Third, after evaluating effect that 8 features related to the job stress could influence job stress, the most effective valuables were in order to unfairness in organizational structure, workplace culture, inadequate compensation, and relationship conflict. Fourth, when looking at the overall effects of the job and sociopsychological stresses on job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and leaving intention, work autonomy was the most influencing factor of work stress levels. The level of the job stress seemed to be a prevalent impact on the leaving intention and it showed the most negative relationship that path coefficient from leaving intention to organizational commitment and also from organizational commitment to job satisfaction. Based on these findings, it can be defined that the job and socio-psychological stresses strongly influence job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and leaving intention.

A Study on Customer Attitude and Effort towards Reducing Food Waste When Dining Out (소비자의 외식관련 음식물 쓰레기에 대한 태도 및 감소 노력에 관한 연구)

  • As food waste problems become more severe, the need for reduction plans is increasing. Thus, this study aimed to discover the attitudes towards and the intentions to reduce restaurant food waste as well as the importance of and intentions to participate in reduction plans among adults customers A self-administrated questionnaire was given to 361 adults (216 men and 145 women) over 20 years old residing in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. According to the results, the respondents regarded restaurant food waste problems as serious (4.01). The biggest reason for leaving food was concern about hygiene (3.57), followed by tasting food (3.34) and portions that were too large (3.10). 57.6% responded that they try to reduce food waste when dining out. Women over 30 admitted to leaving food when dining out if the food did not taste as expected, if they had health concerns about additives such as condiments, and for body weight management. The overall average degree of awareness on the gravity of restaurant food waste problems was 4.06, indicating that respondents deeply empathized with the matter. Women showed higher alertness compared to men, and respondents in their 30s or over did more than those in their 20s. Also, respondents who try to reduce food waste when dining out had higher levels of concern than those who did not. According to the results from measuring the importance of and intention to participate in restaurant food waste reduction plans, taking away left-over food was the best option. In short, citizenship improvement campaigns should be designed for restaurants and related organizations in order to stimulate the need and effects of efforts to reduce dine-out food waste and induce aggressive participation by consumers. Diverse methods to increase actual consumer participation in food waste reduction plans that show high consumer participation intentions also needs to be developed.

  • The main purpose of this study is to examine the factors that influence the employee's intention to leave the current job. A descriptive survey design was conducted and primary data were collected by using questionnaire. The study was based on random sampling; a sample of 200 was drawn from the employees who work in different micro finance institutions in Nepal. For the data analysis percentage analysis and chi square-test were used. The study revealed that salary, working condition, career growth, supervisor behavior and outstation influence the job quitting process. The study also defined the association between the reasons for leaving job such as salary, working condition, career growth supervisor behaviour & outstation and satisfaction, time spent in the organisation, training & development facility, frequency of changing job & encourage from immediate boss. This study establishes the importance of intentions of employees to quit job and provides further evidence in revealing the intentions to quit among the employees.

Intentions of Employed Mothers with Young Children to Leave the Labor Force (미취학 자녀를 둔 취업모의 경제활동 중단 의향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the contexts in which employed mothers with young children consider leaving the labor force. We used a mixed methods design, which integrates the findings of quantitative and qualitative analyses, to better understand the dynamics underlying employed mothers' intentions to leave the labor force. The participants of both quantitative (N = 324) and qualitative (N = 16) data were married mothers who were employed full-time and had at least one child younger than elementary-school age at the time of data collection. Both the quantitative analysis of logistic regression and the qualitative thematic analysis revealed that the child's age, the husband's income, the utilization of child care by relatives, the mother's job involvement, family-to-work role conflict, and other costs and rewards of participation in the work force were the important contexts where employed mothers considered leaving the labor force. The quantitative analysis uniquely found that being employed at a workplace with flexible work hours were associated with lower odds of considering exit from the labor market. The qualitative analysis highlighted that the decision to leave the labor force or to stay in it is a complicated issue that almost all employed mothers potentially face at some point in their careers. These findings suggest that policy support is warranted to help employed mothers with young children remain in the workforce when they wish to.

  • Product complaints allow business operators to learn from and solve problems they have been unaware of and prevent customers from leaving in advance. The ability to deal properly with complaints may improve consumer loyalty and repurchase intentions. This study analyzes consumers' intention in complaining behavior towards supermarkets and traditional markets. This study provides implications for business operators in the establishment of marketing strategies to deal with complaints and perform education related to consumer complaints by the verification of variables that influence intention on complaining behavior. A survey was conducted on housewife consumers who had experience using supermarkets and traditional markets. The major results are as follows: first, in store awareness higher in supermarkets than in traditional markets. Second, determinants of consumer complaint behavior, indicated a belief there was a need to spend more money at traditional markets than supermarkets, where the possibility of complaint success and complaint attitudes were found to be low. Third, intention of complaining behavior was lower at traditional markets than supermarkets. Intentions on private complaining behavior and public complaining behavior were both low. Fourth, intention of private behavior is higher than intention of public behavior for both supermarkets and traditional markets. Fifth, complaint attitudes were variables with the greatest influence on intention of complaining behavior for both supermarkets and traditional markets.

A Study on the Effecting Factors in IT Worker's Career Change Intentions: Based on the KSA and the Self-efficacy (IT인력의 경력변경의도 영향요인 분석: KSA와 자아효능감을 중심으로)

  • The present state of the IT industry show workers with core capability KSA required by the IT industry having a high frequency of leaving for other industries or having the intention of doing so. This is not beneficial for the worker's career as well as the entire IT industry. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to support the development and management of IT human resources by selecting self-efficacy along with core capability KSA as the variables for researching career commitment and career change intentions. The results are as follows. It was found that the technical KSA and behavioral KSA of IT workforce influences self-efficacy. Self-efficacy has a significant effect on career commitment. It was found that managerial KSA has no effect on self-efficacy and career commitment.

Interim Measures in the United States' Arbitration (미국중재에서의 임시처분에 관한 고찰)

  • This paper investigates what are the types and legal grounds for interim measures in the U.S. arbitration practices. The statutory ground for the interim measures is the Revised Uniform Arbitration Act. Another ground, probably the most important, is the parties' own intentions to adopt the interim measures in their arbitration proceeding. Most typical interim measures in arbitration include preliminary injuction, attachment and antisuit injunction. In the U.S ex parte motion for interim measure is rarely allowed while the Revised UNCITRAL Model Law specified an ex parte interim measure. In launching the interim measures, the US courts have demanded several requirements including imparability, probability of success and passing of the balance test. In general, the U.S. courts have properly interfered with the procedural issues in arbitration unreined but leaving the substantive issues untouched. It is believed that such interference has helped to enhance the credibility in arbitration with respect to fairness and justice.

Factors Affecting Job Satisfaction, Organizational Attachment and Job Leaving Attitude of General Hospital Employees by Job Category (종합병원 직원의 직렬별 직무만족도, 조직애착도 및 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this research is to provide basic data to find a solution for the problem related with job satisfaction, organizational attachment, and intention to change their occupations by job category. The collection was done by self-administered questionnaire conducted by 360 employees from Nursing Division, Medical-support Department, and General Affair for 20 days since August. 15 in 2008. According to the result, for Nursing Division, intention to change their career is still high due to opportunity of external employment although their job-satisfaction or the attachment to the job is high. For Medical-support Department, intention to change their career is low compared with work-satisfaction or the attachment to the job is high. However, there are still intentions to change due to opportunity of external employment and excessive quantity of duty. General affair has the lowest work-satisfaction and the highest attachment to the job. However, intention of change is the highest than the others because of their negative-mind.

  • Traditionally airport users have presented their passport themselves to immigration for entering and leaving countries. To improve the inefficiency of this traditional immigration system, Incheon International Airport (IIA) has introduced automatic immigration system called Korea Immigration Smart Service (KISS). This research investigates airport users' behavioral intentions of KISS. To achieve the research purpose, the conceptual model is developed on the basis of the technology acceptance model. The result from this research can be used for improvement of KISS system.

  • Bernard $Dadi{\acute{e}}$ expresses virtue, justice, and goodness by mixing reality and fiction through the life of the spider Kacou $Ananz{\grave{e}}$ in The Black Cloth (le Pagne noir). In Black Africa folktale, especially $Co{\hat{o}}te$ d'Ivoire, virtue, justice, and goodness are important factors. The spider's life is full of imagination and tricks that reveal a variety of lessons: i) material abundance and frustration in the 'Spider and the Tortoise', ii) an autistic life that refuses to separate from the mother in the 'Spider's Hump', iii) leaving a trace of violating the taboo on the sheep in the 'Spider's Ox', iv) the failure of a ploy by hurting others to satisfy individual desire in 'The Dowry'. These diverse stories enable us to understand human characteristics and imperfections by questioning customs of society and value of customs, reinterpreting folktale, and clarifying instructional intentions.
