  • This study aims to understand the overall experiences of students who use notebook computers in class by using a qualitative approach. Interview data were collected from 23 Korean college students at a Korean university, who use notebook computers in their classes; the data were analyzed through the constant comparison method. The results from this study can be categorized into two themes: the positive and negative effects of using a notebook computer in class, and different perspectives on the effects of using a notebook computer in class. The positive effects of notebook computer usage were specified as production of lecture notes, performing searches for information, management of learning materials, and effective time management. However, behaviors such as perusing other works not associated with the class were indicated as negative effects. The participants had different perceptions about the effect of notebook computer usage in increasing academic performance, although they were satisfied in their experience with notebook computers in general. These results imply that appropriate methods of technology usage are needed and that the support of an instructor is essential to achieve fully beneficial use of notebook computers in class.

  • This study purposes to examine the learning achievements, attitude and reactions of elementary school students in fifth grade in mathematics after inducing to use of learning-notebook on mathematics. To achieve the purpose, this study focuses on the following matters. First, we develop the ways to write thoughts and activities in solving problems on learning-notebook for elementary school student in fifth grade. Second, we analyze the effects of the students' learning achievements after applying the ways to them in every mathematics learning activities at home and in school, etc. Third, this study examine the attitudes and reactions of the students toward mathematics after observing the learning activities and interviewing them. The results are summarized as follows. First, using learning-notebook helps to improve the performance of students. The average point of the final examination went up to 90.67 while the average of the first level test was 70.75. And almost each student's result have improved. Second, the interviews with the students show that they feel sense of accomplishment, their mathematical attitude has changed to be positive, and they've actively participated in class by using the learning-notebook. The students felt confidence and achievement and they were more interested in studying mathematics when they use the learning-notebook. Further, the students used the notes in doing their homework and at home studying. Finally, the learning-notebook had a good influence on the relationships between students and teachers. Moreover, learning-notebook serves as a medium that connects teacher and student's work.

  • We examined the strategies to stimulate the reflective thinking using science notebook for the improvement of problem solving ability which is one of the core skills for the future. The strategies we derived have four steps which are input, output, solving mission and reflection as my own mirror. We applied the strategies to the 6th grade class for autumn semester in order to examine the students learning process and the result. We could observe that students looked into their own learning and had a time to look back their activities in the class. We could also confirmed that science notebook would be effective to improve the problem solving as stimulating the reflective thinking. In addition, we could specify the strategy of using science notebook in the class. At a 'input' stage, students should be able to choose their own learning style as their preference and teacher need to give them proper feedback. Interaction with peers should be emphasized during the activities as 'question attack' and 'question defense' in 'output' stage and 'solving mission' stage. You should suggest the students various method to record their thought from looking back their classroom activities instead of mere writing. We also examine the students achievement from the students' notebook and Meta Cognitive Awareness test. As a result, students who had studied using science notebook showed statistically meaningful higher achievement than controlled students.

  • The occurrence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is hoarding globally. All kinds of Diabetes Mellitus is controlled to disrupt over 415 million grownups worldwide. It was the seventh prime cause of demise widespread with a measured 1.6 million deaths right prompted by diabetes during 2016. Over 90% of diabetes cases are T2DM, with the utmost persons having at smallest one other chronic condition in UK. In valuation of contemporary applications of Big Data (BD) to Diabetes Medicare by sighted its upcoming abilities, it is compulsory to transmit out a bottomless revision over foremost theoretical literatures. The long-term growth in medicine and, in explicit, in the field of "Diabetology", is powerfully encroached to a sequence of differences and inventions. The medical and healthcare data from varied bases like analysis and treatment tactics which assistances healthcare workers to guess the actual perceptions about the development of Diabetes Medicare measures accessible by them. Apache Spark extracts "Resilient Distributed Dataset (RDD)", a vital data structure distributed finished a cluster on machines. Machine Learning (ML) deals a note-worthy method for building elegant and automatic algorithms. ML library involving of communal ML algorithms like Support Vector Classification and Random Forest are investigated in this projected work by using Jupiter Notebook - Python code, where significant quantity of result (Accuracy) is carried out by the models.

  • The purpose of this paper is aimed to derive suggestions for convergence technology for effective management of distance education by analyzing a long-term case. The experiment was designed with notebook, smartphone or tablet based robot controlled by a remote instructor and a learner, who have experience of distance learning including robot assisted learning. The tablet based robot has the display system of feedback to speakers. During five months, three types of experiments were conducted randomly and a participant was interviewed thoroughly. The result, like the previous research, demonstrates that the task performance of the learner in telepresence robot-assisted learning was better than that in the notebook, and smartphone based. However, it is believed to be necessary to adjust the system for eye-contact and voice transmission for the remote instructor. The instructor required an additional sight by supplementing an extra camera and automatic direction control to source of sound.

  • The advent of the AI(: Artificial Intelligence) has applied to many industrial and general applications have havingact on our lives these days. Various types of machine learning methods are supported in this field. The supervised learning method of the machine learning has features and targets as an input in the learning process. There are many supervised learning methods as well and their performance varies depends on the characteristics and states of the big data type as an input data. Therefore, in this paper, in order to compare the performance of the various supervised learning method with a specific big data set, the supervised learning methods supported in the Tensorflow and the Sckit-Learn are simulated and analyzed in the Jupyter Notebook environment with python.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to implement a optimal machine learning model about the cancellation prediction performance in car sales business. It is to apply the data set of accumulated contract, cancellation, and sales information in sales support system(SFA) which is commonly used for sales, customers and inventory management by imported car dealers, to several machine learning models and predict performance of cancellation. Design/methodology/approach This study extracts 29,073 contracts, cancellations, and sales data from 2015 to 2020 accumulated in the sales support system(SFA) for imported car dealers and uses the analysis program Python Jupiter notebook in order to perform data pre-processing, verification, and modeling that is applying and learning to Machine learning model after then the final result was predicted using new data. Findings This study confirmed that cancellation prediction is possible by applying car purchase contract information to machine learning models. It proved the possibility of developing and utilizing a generalized predictive model by using data of imported car sales system with machine learning technology. It can reduce and prevent the sales failure as caring the potential lost customer intensively and it lead to increase sales revenue by predicting the cancellation possibility of individual customers.
