The purpose of this study is to conceptualize the definition of school readiness specific to the context of the Republic of Korea. The school readiness test can be used as basic data to enable early childhood educational institutes to determine the general readiness of preschoolers and provide support to fit individual characteristics. For this purpose, six stages of the school readiness development process were considered, that is, draft development, primary preliminary survey, primary expert verification, secondary expert verification, secondary preliminary survey, and main survey. In the main survey, tests were conducted using the school readiness final draft targeting 344 preschoolers living in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The item discrimination power analysis and factor analysis for the examination area and question area were also conducted. Consequently, a test tool was developed on the basic of the results obtained, consisting of 129 items in the five areas of knowledge, function, adaptation, tendency, and attitude. The knowledge area was divided into general, linguistic, and mathematical knowledge, and the function area into fine motor function, basic living ability, expressive function, and gross motor function. The adaptation area was classified into adaptation activity, separation anxiety, maladaptive behavior, and environment adaptation; the tendency area into learning tendency; others understanding, and individual tendency, and the attitude area into rule compliance and life habits.
The purpose of this survey was to investigate the relationship among obese children, dietary intake and environmental factors. Therefore, this survey compared obese children with normal children on dietary intake and environmental factors. The survey were 110 obese children and 110 normal children whose age, height, and sex were same as the obese children of 21 elementary school in Inchon. The statistical analysis of data was completed using SAS program. The results were summarized as follows : 1) The student's obesity was related to parent's obesity and number of their siblings. There were significant differences between obese groups and normal group for these two factors. 2) Meal time of the obese group showed more irregularity than that of the normal group. Otherwise, the normal group were more "piclity" about special food than the obese group(p<0.05). Also obese children showed unconsious eating while reading or watching TV(p<0.01). The normal group attended physical education class more eagerily the obese group(p<0.001). There was no significant difference between obese children and normal children for learning habits. 3) Obese children shoed higher intake of nutrients compared to normal children. Among all the nutrients, minerals and vitamins showed significant differences. Therefore, further study on obese children and their intake of minerals and vitamin is needed. Also, in order to prevent factors which influence obesity, nutrition education at home as well as school was needed.as needed.

Diabetes is a condition that can be brought on by a variety of different factors, some of which include, but are not limited to, the following: age, a lack of physical activity, a sedentary lifestyle, a family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, depression and stress, inappropriate eating habits, and so on. Diabetes is a disorder that can be brought on by a number of different factors. A chronic disorder that may lead to a wide range of complications. Diabetes mellitus is synonymous with diabetes. There is a correlation between diabetes and an increased chance of having a variety of various ailments, some of which include, but are not limited to, cardiovascular disease, nerve damage, and eye difficulties. There are a number of illnesses that are connected to kidney dysfunction, including stroke. According to the figures provided by the International Diabetes Federation, there are more than 382 million people all over the world who are afflicted with diabetes. This number will have risen during the years in order to reach 592 million by the year 2035. There are a substantial number of people who become victims on a regular basis, and a significant percentage of those people are uninformed of whether or not they have it. The individuals who are most adversely impacted by it are those who are between the ages of 25 and 74 years old. This paper reviews about various machine learning techniques used to detect diabetes mellitus.
Learning Diagnosis & Prescription Service(LDPS) in Cyber Home Learning System is a educational service which provides customized learning contents based on student's academic level and individualized counseling and comments after diagnosing learner's study habits beyond the past e-Learning systems which offer the same contents to different students. For a national point of view, it is a crucial project in public education to achieve the goals of the next-generation e-Learning service by making a lot efforts both in time and money. However, those efforts has been made, not in terms of providing a better quality of service and a better user experience in a effective and enjoyable way, but in terms of developing the technology-driven system. Therefore, in this study, two types of usability evaluations has been conducted in order to enhance a user experience on the LDPS. One is the expert reviews by utilizing the usability evaluation tools (heuristics) which was focused on educational contexts developed by Suh Young-suhk(2007). The other is the user testing with students who have done think-aloud during the evaluation, remembering their retrospective experience with LDPS, and the interview with teachers & service operators were conducted. As the implications on the research, this is an effort to provide an user-friendly educational system for the students nationwide.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: A healthy diet has been reported to be associated with physical development, cognition and academic performance, and personality during adolescence. This study was performed to investigate the relationships among milk consumption and academic performance, learning motivation and strategies, and personality among Korean adolescents. SUBJECTS/METHODS: The study was divided into two parts. The first part was a survey on the relationship between milk consumption and academic performance, in which intakes of milk and milk products and academic scores were examined in percentiles among 630 middle and high school students residing in small and medium-sized cities in 2009. The second part was a survey on the relationships between milk consumption and learning motivation and strategy as well as personality, in which milk consumption habits were collected and Learning Motivation and Strategy Test (L-MOST) for adolescents and Total Personality Inventory for Adolescents (TPI-A) were conducted in 262 high school students in 2011. RESULTS: In the 2009 survey, milk and milk product intakes of subjects were divided into a low intake group (LM: ${\leq}60.2g/day$), medium intake group (MM: 60.3-150.9 g/day), and high intake group (HM: ${\geq}151.0g/day$). Academic performance of each group was expressed as a percentile, and performance in Korean, social science, and mathematics was significantly higher in the HM group (P < 0.05). In the 2011 survey, the group with a higher frequency of everyday milk consumption showed significantly higher "learning strategy total," "testing technique," and "resources management technique" scores (P < 0.05) in all subjects. However, when subjects were divided by gender, milk intake frequency, learning strategy total, class participation technique, and testing technique showed significantly positive correlations (P < 0.05) in boys, whereas no correlation was observed in girls. Correlations between milk intake frequency and each item of the personality test were only detected in boys, and milk intake frequency showed positive correlations with "total agreeability", "organization", "responsibility", "conscientiousness", and "intellectual curiosity" (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Intakes of milk and milk products were correlated with academic performance (Korean, social science, and mathematics) in Korean adolescents. In male high school students, particularly, higher milk intake frequency was positively correlated with learning motivation and strategy as well as some items of the personality inventory.
Mathematical knowledge is not exact definition but the supposition. Considering the nature of mathematics, realization of mathematics teaching which pursues critical thinking and rationality would be our problems. Accordingly, I set the subject of this study whether learning of constructivist discussion, which induces reflective thinking through communicating with others by expression with language of mathematical thinking in discussion, is effective against attitude on Mathematics and Mathematics achievement and study themes are as follows; A. Is learning of constructivist discussion effective against attitude on Mathematics? A-1. Is there any difference of self-conception on the subject between experimental group applied to learning of constructivist discussion and comparative group? A-2. Is there any difference of attitude on the subject between experimental group applied to learning of constructivist discussion and comparative group? A-3. Is there any difference of learning habits on the subject between experimental group applied to learning of constructivist discussion and comparative group? B. Is learning of constructivist discussion effective against mathematics achievement? The objects of study are 30 children of one class in the third grade of elementary school in Seoul for experimental group, and another one class with 30 children is comparative group. Study results and conclusion based on those results are as follows; First, students make reflective thinking through communication each other, therefore, instructor should create discussion environment for communication to express and form their mathematical thinking. Next, adaptability in student's mathematics activities and mathematical ideas should be permissible, and those should become divergent thinking. However, this study analyzed comparative results from only two each class having enrollment of thirty in the third grade. Accordingly, results from students in various grades and environment that are required to get more significant conclusion statistically.
We incorporated cooperative learning focusing on the 'Crustal Deformation' in five classes of second grade students, at an all-girls' middle school of Gimje city. The groups of cooperative learning were composed of four members of students each, according to the heterogeneous level. We conducted a pretest on the students' preference before incorporating the cooperative learning. After ten weeks of cooperative school work, the students took a post test with the same questions as the pretest. The result of this method greatly impacted the change on the students' scientific preference. It means that the students showed a positive change in their awareness of and participation in science classes, compared to before. However it is difficult to distinguish the differences in their scientific attitude on the recognition about scientists and habits which make them think scientifically. This resulted from the short period of ten weeks which is not sufficient to carry out the study strategy effectively. Surveys of the students on cooperative learning indicates that the middle level students prefer this method unlike the higher or lower level students. we are convinced that they can learn from the students of higher level and are able to help the lower level with the interaction through cooperative learning. According to the result of the survey, the method has some weaknesses; it arouses the high noise levels and consequent disturbance due to verbal interaction and of conflicts due to disagreements when they discuss the process. On the contrary, advantages are developing the students's interest in science class, helping them to learn, creating positive participation in class, and fostering mutual collaboration with other students through cooperative learning.
The influence of the social changes on the food and nutritional status of Korean during the late period of Joseon Kingdom (1800-1910) was analysed by using old literatures and the records of the Westerners visited Korea during the period. The late period of Joseon can be designated the most poor and miserable period in the history of Korea. The people suffered from the corrupted and incompetent government and social disturbances. The main driving forces to reforming the society at that time were 'Silhak' (Practical Learning), introduction of Catholic church and Donghak movement. The food related literatures written in this period in Korea described the life of upper classes (Yangban) and paid little attention to the life of the poor majority. This paper introduces the food availability and habits of Korean observed by the Westerners visited Korea at that time.

The purpose of this study was to develop home economics(HE) teaching learning process plans by Gagne's instructional events using scaffolding of 'nutrition and meal of adolescents' unit according to the 2007 revised middle school HE curriculum. To achieve this purpose, the teaching learning process plans and worksheets using scaffolding according to Gagne's instructional event were developed for 5 periods, implemented to the 71 middle school students in Busan city, and evaluated by 21 home economics(HE) teachers and 71 middle school students. The content of the teaching learning process plans were composed of the subjects, 'impotance of nutrition and wellness', 'types of function of nutrients, 'Korean dietary reference intakes and characteristics of adolescent nutrition', 'nutrition problems, eating habits, and diet of adolescents', and 'future health and jobs'. HE teachers evaluated that the content of the teaching learning process plans were suitable to the middle school students, teacher's questions were accurate, and the teaching learning process plans were suitable, usable, and easy to implement in middle school HE class. The students who participated in the class were satisfied with the instruction by Gagne's events using scaffolding. They perceived that the contents and process of the instruction were understandable and interesting.

This study was attempted to determine the effect of premenstrual syndrome, menstrual pain, attitudes toward menstruation, and quality of sleep on learning immersion in female college students. The subjects of the study were 166 female college students at C University in Gyeongsangnam-do, and data collection was conducted from July 01 to August 31, 2023, using a Google questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by correlation, multiple regression analysis. Premenstrual syndrome had a significant positive correlation with attitudes toward menstruation(r=.40, p<.001) and menstrual pain(r=.33, p<.001). And sleep quality had a significant positive correlation with menstrual pain(r=.31, p<.001) and learning immersion(r=.24, p=.002). Variables that have a significant impact on learning immersion include 'irregularity in eating' (β =.20, p=.007), 'abdominal massage' to relieve menstrual pain (β=.27, p=.003), and sleep quality (β=.16, p=.038). 'Abdominal massage' to relieve menstrual pain was found to be the best predictor of learning immersion, followed by 'irregularity in eating' and sleep quality. The total explanatory power was 13.9%. Based on the above results, in order to increase learning commitment through mitigation of premenstrual syndrome, education is necessary to seek active countermeasures by increasing various treatments and interest in them, and to have a positive attitude toward menstruation by having proper eating habits.
