Implementation of Interactive Media Content Production Framework based on Gesture Recognition (제스처 인식 기반의 인터랙티브 미디어 콘텐츠 제작 프레임워크 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose a content creation framework that enables users without programming experience to easily create interactive media content that responds to user gestures. In the proposed framework, users define the gestures they use and the media effects that respond to them by numbers, and link them in a text-based configuration file. In the proposed framework, the interactive media content that responds to the user's gesture is linked with the dynamic projection mapping module to track the user's location and project the media effects onto the user. To reduce the processing speed and memory burden of the gesture recognition, the user's movement is expressed as a gray scale motion history image. We designed a convolutional neural network model for gesture recognition using motion history images as input data. The number of network layers and hyperparameters of the convolutional neural network model were determined through experiments that recognize five gestures, and applied to the proposed framework. In the gesture recognition experiment, we obtained a recognition accuracy of 97.96% and a processing speed of 12.04 FPS. In the experiment connected with the three media effects, we confirmed that the intended media effect was appropriately displayed in real-time according to the user's gesture.

Investigation of "Paradox of Technology" in Service Convergence: Case of Telematics Service (컨버전스 서비스 평가에 대한 기술의 역설: 텔레매틱스 서비스를 중심으로)

  • Many products today tend to adopt a convergence approach by adding new features or functionalities to the existing products. The convergence, however, results in both positive and negative effects on usage of products, and thus demonstrates the characteristics called "paradox of technology." On the one hand, the added functionalities or features will increase the usefulness of the products. On the other hand, the convergence increases complexity of learning and usage of products and may decrease satisfaction or user evaluations. This study provides an empirical evidence of this paradox through investigation of telematics, one of the exemplary products of convergence services. Our research model is designed to test the existence of the "paradox of technology" and includes variables such as variety of functions, complexity of usage, perceived usefulness, service evaluation, and service fit. The proposed research model and subsequent hypotheses are empirically tested using 149 survey responses from telematics users. We have found that the variety of functions is positively associated with perceived usefulness, but is negatively associated with the complexity of usage. The data analysis reveals that the perceived usefulness has more significant impacts on service evaluation than the complexity of usage does. Furthermore, the strength of causal relationships among these variables is partially moderated by the degree of service fit. This study thus highlights the paradox of technology in explaining user attitudes and beliefs associated with convergence services.

Analysis of Ecological Factors Affecting School Life Satisfaction of Commercial High School Students (상업계열 고등학생들의 학교생활만족도에 영향을 미치는 생태체계 변인 분석)

  • This research intended to investigate, from an ecological perspective, significant predictors affecting school life satisfaction. The subjects were 312 students(2nd grade) of commercial high school in Kyonggido. Data collected by questionnaire survey were analyzed by SPSS Win 22.0 and descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, hierarchical linear regression, and stepwise regression were conducted. There were 21 independent variables: 8 organism variables (self-competence, interpersonal skills, internal control, mood awareness, emotional expression, empathy, emotional regulation, emotional capability), 9 microsystem variables(school variables: the relationship with teachers, school learning, classroom climate, school welfare facilities, school environment/peer variables: peer relationship/family variables: family functioning, education level of fathers, economic status), 2 mesosystem variables(parent-teacher relationship, parent-children's peer relationship), 1 exosystem variables(satisfaction with Korean educational system), 1 macrosystem variables(Korean's primal belief in educational achievement). The results are as follows; the significant variables were the relationship with teachers, satisfaction with Korean educational system, peer relationship, emotional capability, parent-teacher relationship($R^2=45.3%$); and the effect of microsystem was the strongest($R^2=35.7%$). This research is meaningful of analyzing school life satisfaction of commercial high school in terms of ecological perspective.

The Effects of Contraceptive Education Program on Contraceptive Knowledge, Contraceptive Attitude and Contraceptive Self-efficacy among High School Students (피임교육 프로그램이 고등학생의 피임 지식, 피임 태도와 피임 자기효능감에 미치는 효과)

  • This study aimed to develop and evaluate the program of contraceptive education for high school students. A nonequivalent control group design was used. The contraceptive education program was developed and applied to the experimental group. The control group was provided with a handout and video educational instrument after the intervention. The population of the study comprised 146 high school students in the third grade at two high schools in U city. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, the ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test and repeated measure ANOVA using the PASW 18.0 program. The content and learning guidance validities of the contraceptive education program were 0.93 points and more than 4 points, respectively. There were statistically significant increases over time in contraceptive knowledge(F=56.71, p<.001), contraceptive attitude(F=4.31, p=.018) and contraceptive self-esteem (F=8.15, p<.001) in the experimental group. The results indicate that the contraceptive education program is effective in improving the contraceptive knowledge, contraceptive attitude and contraceptive self-esteem among high-school students. Further study is recommended to confirm the long-term effects of the contraceptive education program.

The Awareness of Dental Hygiene Students on the Dental Hygiene Curriculums (치위생(학)과 학생의 치과위생사 양성 교육과정에 관한 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of dental hygiene students on the components of the dental hygiene curriculum. The subjects in this study were 934 dental hygiene students, on whom a survey was conducted in April and Jun, 2009. The collected data were analyzed by the statistical package PASW 18.0. The findings of the study were as follows: The students from the midsection of the nation put the highest value on educational objectives, selection of what to teach and evaluation, and the students from the metropolitan area set the lowest value on those components. The students who took junior college courses took a better view of those components than those who took college courses. In terms of the organization of what to teach, the students from the midsection of the nation rated it highest, and the students from the Honam area rated it lowest. And those who took college courses took a little better view of it than the students who took junior college courses. Among the components of the curriculum, the educational objective factor was rated higher in terms of vocational education, morality and ethics, and that was rated lower in terms of creativity. The selection of what to teach was rated higher in terms of learning possibility and was rated lower in terms of content validity and relevance. The organization of what to teach was rated highest in terms of continuity, followed by sequence and integration. The educational evaluation factor was rated higher in the area of school evaluation and was rated lowest in the area of national examinations.

A Study on Classification of CNN-based Linux Malware using Image Processing Techniques (영상처리기법을 이용한 CNN 기반 리눅스 악성코드 분류 연구)

  • With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, using the Linux operating system in various architectures has increased. Also, security threats against Linux-based IoT devices are increasing, and malware variants based on existing malware are constantly appearing. In this paper, we propose a system where the binary data of a visualized Executable and Linkable Format (ELF) file is applied to Local Binary Pattern (LBP) image processing techniques and a median filter to classify malware in a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). As a result, the original image showed the highest accuracy and F1-score at 98.77%, and reproducibility also showed the highest score at 98.55%. For the median filter, the highest precision was 99.19%, and the lowest false positive rate was 0.008%. Using the LBP technique confirmed that the overall result was lower than putting the original ELF file through the median filter. When the results of putting the original file through image processing techniques were classified by majority, it was confirmed that the accuracy, precision, F1-score, and false positive rate were better than putting the original file through the median filter. In the future, the proposed system will be used to classify malware families or add other image processing techniques to improve the accuracy of majority vote classification. Or maybe we mean "the use of Linux O/S distributions for various architectures has increased" instead? If not, please rephrase as intended.

The Effect of Emotional Intelligence and Self-Efficacy on Clinical Competence of the Nursing Students (간호 대학생의 감성 지능과 자기 효능감이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study aimed to find the effect of emotional intelligence and self-efficacy on clinical competence of the Korean nursing students. A total of 199 nursing students participated in this study. Data collection was conducted through the use of questionnaires constructed to include Wong & Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS), General Self-efficacy Scale, and the Clinical Competence Scale. As a result, emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and clinical competency of the Korean nursing students were found to be at moderate levels(Emotional intelligence: M=4.7, SD=0.81; Self-efficacy: M=3.2, SD=0.34; Clinical competency: M=3.4, SD=0.56). Also, the nursing students with higher grades and satisfaction on clinical practice were found to have significantly higher emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and clinical competence. Moreover, there were significant positive correlations between emotional intelligence and clinical competency(r=.566, p<.001), self-efficacy and clinical competency(r=.440, p<.001). The factors affecting clinical competency were emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and gender. They amounted to 49.3% in clinical competency. These results indicate a need to develop effective teaching methods and learning strategies to promote clinical competency of the nursing students.

Resident's Assessment of Automated Vacuum Waste Collection System in New Public Housing Estates (신규 공공주택단지의 생활폐기물 자동집하시설 이용에 관한 거주자 평가 분석)

  • This research is to explore resident's assessment of the Automated Vacuum Waste Collection System (AVWCS), which is devised to attain sustainability of residential environment. A number of AVWCS has been installed in Gyeonggi Province, so 283 households in 11 new public housing estates of 5 cities participated in a self-administered questionnaire survey. The data collected from 133 respondents in for-sale housing estates and 150 participants in rental housing estates, and the primary findings were as follows: a vast majority of both owners and renters had neither been aware of nor used the system before moving to their current housing estate. Also, most of the respondents learned how to use the AVWCS from on-site housing management staff, and the learning among renters was greatly delayed. Renters were in stronger favor of the system than owners, and their satisfaction was greater than the counterpart. Although few items were unsatisfactory, many emphasized that AVWCS should be augmented with user-centered, environmentally friendly features, and also they viewed that the system would substantially contribute to sustainable urban environment.

Analysis of Change of Achievement Standards According to Curriculum of Mathematics in Elementary School: Focusing on Geometry Domain (초등학교 수학과 교육과정에 따른 성취기준 변화 분석: 도형 영역을 중심으로)

  • In this study, we analyzed how the content and achievement criteria of the Geometry domain of Korean elementary school mathematics curriculum have changed. To this end, based on the analysis framework based on the 2015 revised curriculum, the achievement standards for each period were classified into continuous, extinct, and additional types, and their characteristics were examined. In the domain of Geometry, continuous achievement standards accounted for 51% of the total, and there were many achievement standards that remained unchanged in grade and domain. The extinctive achievement standard is 20.4% of the total, and the mathematics contents that were rapidly introduced due to the modernization of mathematics in the 3rd curriculum were eliminated the most from the 4th curriculum, and after the 7th curriculum, With the introduction of staged curriculum and the system of school year group, the contents of learning were either integrated or moved to middle school. The additional achievement standard was 28.6% of the total, and the achievement standard was added the most with the introduction of spatial sensory development in the 7th curriculum. The GAct that the additivel achievement standard is more than the extinction achievement standard in the Geometry domain is the result of the efforts to actively introduce the geometric contents appropriate to the times despite the great flow of curriculum revision of the curriculum reduction. It is hoped that the results of these studies will be used as basic data in the formation of new achievement standards in future curriculum development.

A Study on the Wetland User's Eco-consciousness and Preference of Amenities - Focused on Upo Marsh Users - (습지 이용자 생태의식과 시설선호도 연구 - 우포늪을 대상으로 -)

  • The researcher noted the fact that wetland users are more and more diversified while people are more conscious of their ecological importance. Wetlands tend to be very sensitive in ecological terms, and therefore, they can hardly accommodate their users' needs indefinitely. With such basic perception in mind, the purpose of this study was to survey wetland users' eco-consciousness, determine their traits, analyze the corelation between their traits and preferences of wetland amenities, and thereby, provide the data useful to planning of an effective wetland management policy. To this end, the researcher sampled nation's largest wetland, Upo Marsh located in Changnyeong for a questionnaire survey. Wetland users' eco-consciousness was measured, using Dunlap's NEP (New Ecological Paradigm) approved by many researchers. Wetland users' preferences of the wetland amenities were measured, centered around 11 amenity types observed commonly at the domestic wetlands. As a result of the survey conducted in October, 2012, a total of 228 effective samples were acquired. Wetland users' eco-consciousness was higher than normal, scoring 3.45 on the 5-point scale consisting of 5 sub-scales. In particular, users were more conscious of 'the possibility of an eco-crisis,' while being less conscious of 'ejection of exemptionalism.' As a result of classifying the users into 3 sub-groups in reference to their eco-consciousness and analyzing their preferences of amenities comparatively, significant differences were found in all 3 sub-areas. In particular, the sub-group most eco-conscious tended to prefer the learning amenities, but the least eco-conscious sub-group tended to prefer the utilities. As a result of the post-hoc test, it was found that most and normal eco-conscious sub-groups were more or less homogeneous, while the least eco-conscious sub-group was significantly different from the former 2 sub-groups in terms of eco-consciousness. As the wetland users were found to be diversified in terms of their eco-consciousness, it is necessary to plan the wetland management policies in consideration of such differences. However, it is perceived that the wetland amenities need to be built to meet the more eco-conscious users.
