적외선 촬영 영상 기반의 작물 병해 모니터링 가능성 타진을 위한 실내 감염 실험 (Preliminary growth chamber experiments using thermal infrared image to detect crop disease)

  • 세균과 바이러스에 감염된 작물의 생물적 스트레스 탐지를 원격탐지 기술 기반의 열적외 센서를 이용하여 실내 생육 챔버에서 실험하였다. 감염으로 인한 엽온의 증가와 감염 농도에 따른 엽온 차이를 확인했다. 또한 엽온 기반으로 산출한 CWSI 값은 감염 잎에서 증가하였고, 그러한 현상은 육안으로 병징을 발견하기 하루 전에 시작되었다. 따라서 스마트팜 시스템의 작물 모니터링에 열적외 센서를 이용한다면, 병해의 탐지는 물론 피해 등급 평가, 조기 알람 등에 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 하지만 실제 스마트팜 적용을 위해서는 향후 엽온 측정 정확도 향상 기술, 자료 해석 방법, 생물 비생물적 스트레스 구별 알고리즘 연구 등이 추가로 필요할 것이다.

  • 최근, 디지털 카메라와 디지털 캠코더처럼 디지털 장비가 대중화됨에 따라, 이미지 데이터가 급증하게 되었다. 이와 함께, 이미지 검색에 대한 요구도 증가하게 되었으며, 단순한 텍스트 검색이 아닌 이미지의 특징에 기반한 검색이 요구되고 있다. 특징 기반의 검색은 색상, 질감, 모양 등과 같은 특성에 기반한 검색으로 사람이 일일이 주석을 입력하는 방식보다 자동화가 가능하며, 빠르게 인덱싱할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 모양을 이용하여 이미지를 인덱싱 하였으며, 스케치된 식물의 잎 모양의 이미지를 이용 하였다. 또한, 식물의 잎에 뻗어있는 잎맥의 모양을 이용하여 검색의 정확도를 높였다.

  • Accurate quantification of plant physiological properties is often necessary for optimal control of an automated greenhouse production system. Conventional crop growth monitoring systems are usually burdensome, inaccurate, and harmful to crops. A thermal image analysis system was used to accomplish rapid and accurate measurements of physiological-property changes of water-stressed crops. Thermal images were obtained from several species of plants that were placed in a growth chamber. Analyzing the images provided the pattern of temperature changes in a leaf and the amount of differences in the temperature of stressed plants and non-stressed plants.

Early Detection of Rice Leaf Blast Disease using Deep-Learning Techniques

  • Pakistan is a top producer and exporter of high-quality rice, but traditional methods are still being used for detecting rice diseases. This research project developed an automated rice blast disease diagnosis technique based on deep learning, image processing, and transfer learning with pre-trained models such as Inception V3, VGG16, VGG19, and ResNet50. The modified connection skipping ResNet 50 had the highest accuracy of 99.16%, while the other models achieved 98.16%, 98.47%, and 98.56%, respectively. In addition, CNN and an ensemble model K-nearest neighbor were explored for disease prediction, and the study demonstrated superior performance and disease prediction using recommended web-app approaches.

성격유형에 따른 복식문양 이미지 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Clothing Pattern Image by the Personality Type)

  • The objectives of this study were to investigate the perceptions of Korean female university students for clothing pattern tendency and structural element of clothing pattern image dimension and to find how individual personality type influence the preferred clothing pattern characteristics. For this study, a questionnaire was designed and sent to 600 female university students of Daejeon, Seoul and metropolitan area. The tool used in this study was MBTI(The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) Form G Korean version and for the analysis of data SPSS 10.0 package were used. 10 representative patterns for this study were floral, dot, stripe, check, animal, abstract & artistic, geometric, vegetable & leaf, paisely, patchwork pattern. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, arithmetic mean, One-Way ANOVA, x²-test. The major findings were as follows: Clothing pattern image dimension perceived by Korean female university students for 10 representative patterns were basic form, deluxe, specialty, and cultural dimension. Among them, basic form and deluxe dimension were major dimensions. In basic form dimension, dot pattern score was high indicating female students perceive it as light, comfortable, clean, cool and simple pattern image. In deluxe dimension, floral pattern scored high and in specialty dimension, abstract and artistic pattern scored high among other pattern image. In cultural dimension, geometric pattern and check pattern scored high. Based on other detailed analysis results, It is concluded that the personality type greatly influence clothing pattern evaluation. For example, in case of color combination of patchwork pattern, there was a difference in color preference depend on a personality type such as sensing(S) or intuition(N). Therefore, sensing personality type preferred adjacent color combination than contrast color combination. Detailed marketing strategy is necessary in planning textile design of merchandise plan.

오브젝트 중심점-마스크를 사용한 instance segmentation (An Instance Segmentation using Object Center Masks)

  • 본 논문에서는 새롭게 제안하는 Multi-Path Encoder-Decoder 의 구조를 바탕으로 두개의 가지로 구성된 심층신경망을 통해서 영상 이미지에서 물체를 하나의 객체 단위로 분할 검출하는 방법을 제안하였다. 각 가지는 중심점 검출 가지(Dot branch), 객체 분할 가지(Segmentation branch)라 하고 중심점 검출 가지는 이미지로부터 각 객체의 중심점을 찾는 역할을 수행하고, 객체 분할 가지는 각 객체의 영역을 이미지로부터 분할하는 역할을 수행한다. 실험에서는 CVPPP 식물 이미지의 나뭇잎을 각각 구분하도록 학습 하였으며 중심점 검출 가지는 각 나뭇잎의 중심점들을 찾아내고, 객체 분할 가지는 원본 이미지와 찾아낸 중심점 이미지를 통하여 각 중심점에 해당하는 나뭇잎의 픽셀 분할 영역을 최종적으로 예측하게 된다. 기존의 객체 분할에서는 다양한 크기, 위치의 앵커박스를 만들어서 많은 영역(N > 1k)의 물체를 확인해야하는 연산량 문제점 혹은 이미지에서 고정되지 않는 총 객체의 개수를 예측하기 어려웠던 문제가 있었다. 제안한 심층신경망에서는 중심점을 기반으로 객체를 찾아내는 효과적인 방법을 제안하였다.

RESEARCH ON THE DRAGON IMAGE IN TURKISH MINIATURE PAINTINGS

  • The dragon of the East was an object of worship and an authority to make rain, unlike the West. The dragon image, one of the positively accepted Chinese motifs with the blue-and-white porcelain of the Ming dynasty by the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century, was combined with gigantic saw-edged leaves to create a genre in Saz style. By combining Eastern dragons with plant motifs instead of clouds, dragons were no longer accepted as authority and nobility but as symbols of life and longevity. Unlike Iran and other countries, the image of dragons in Turkish miniature paintings has evolved into a unique style using Turkish calligraphy. The stylistic feature is that a thick black line that gives the impression of calligraphy forms the dragon's back or a huge saz leaf stalk and forms the axis of the screen. Most of the work was black ink drawing, not painting, and partly lightly painted. In the development stage, the dragon appears as a protagonist on the screen of the early works, but the dragon retreats to the latter half and the saz leaves play a leading role on the screen. A common feature in all paintings, whether early or late, is that they have a militant character and create tension on the screen. From the viewpoint of comparative culture, Turkish dragon miniature drawings of the 16thcentury Ottoman period and the Joseon dynasty are somewhat similar in that they are based on calligraphic character and desire for longevity and loyalty, and are drawn according to certain iconic principles.

Automatic Multileaf Collimation Quality Assurance for IMRT using Electronic Portal Imaging

  • More complex radiotherapy techniques using multi leaf collimation(MLC) such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy(IMRT) has been increasing the significance of verification of leaf position and motion. Due to the reliability and robustness, quality assurance(QA) of MLC is usually performed with portal films. However, the advantage of ease of use and capability of providing digital data of electronic portal imaging devices(EPIDs) have attracted many attentions as alternatives of films for routine quality assurance in spite of the concerns about their clinical feasibility, efficacy, and the cost to benefit ratio. In our work, the method of routine QA of MLC using electronic portal imaging(EPI) was developed. The verification of availability of EPI images for routine QA was performed by comparison with those of the portal films which were simultaneously obtained when radiation was delivered and known prescription input to MLC controller. Specially designed test patterns of dynamic MLC were applied to image acquisition. Quantitative off-line analysis using edge detection algorithm enhanced the verification procedure in addition to on-line qualitative visual assessment. In conclusion, the EPI is available enough for routine QA with the accuracy of portal films.
