  • Farm mechanization has been rapidly progressed in rice farming since the 1980's, in Korea. The mechanization has been achieved up to 95-97% in the year of 1995, except irrigation and drying process. However, rice production cost remains much more expensive than the cost of other rice farming countries. Since labor cost shares a major portion of the production costs, it is essential to save labor cost with automation and more sophisticated mechanization. However, it requires great capital investment which causes farm management worse. Therefore, the computer program was developed which can select machines to minimize the management and maintenance cost by analyzing available working days in different areas, machinery to purchase, farming size, total farming size in a village, number of machines and custom fee.

관수로 자동급수전의 관개효과 분석 -충북 보은군 학림 관수로 지구를 대상으로- (Analysis of Irrigation Effect in the Paddy Plot Irrigated by Pipelines With an Automatic Hydrant)

  • In this study, we investigated irrigation effect for the paddy plot irrigated by pipeline with two types of hydrants: automatic and manual. The automatic hydrant have been introduced to the paddy field to save water and reduce the labor for water management. The automatic hydrant is automatically opened and closed according to the water depth of a paddy plot. The water management labor to close manual hydrant in the afternoon of every three days can be eliminated when we use the automatic hydrant. The water requirements for the automatic hydrant plot 3.26mm/d are much less than those for manual hydrant plot 9.99mm/d.

  • Recent mechatronics technology is the most appropriate high technology in the agricultural application to save repetitious labor. Cow's body parameters were measured by traditional several measurer. Image processing technology was used to measure automatically their parameters to reduce lots of labor and time. The parameters were measured form a small model cow, which is easily measured, instead to a real cow. The image processing system designed and built for this project was composed of a Pentium PC, and TV frame card two cameras which were located on side and top of model cow. 11 parameters of cow's body were measured and the error between real data and the data by image processing was less than 10%. Based on the results of this research the parameters of a real cow could be measured in the future.

  • In this study, we investigated the characteristics of labor of water management and maintenance, water requirement, water quality(T-N, T-P, COD) in the paddy plot irrigated by pipeline with two types of hydrants: automatic and manual. The automatic hydrant have been introduced to the paddy field to save water and reduce the labor for water management. The automatic hydrant is automatically opened and closed according to the water depth of a paddy plot. The automatic hydrant generally developed more troubles than the manual hydrant. The water requirements are 2.7mm/d for the automatic hydrant plot and 17.6mm/d for the manual hydrant plot. The concentrations of pollutants in the two plots are higher in the ponded water than in the irrigation water and are highest after fertilizer application.

담배 벌크건조기의 래크용 전동발달기 장치 개발 (Development of Electric Hoist Device for Rack in Tobacco Bulk curing Barn)

  • In order to save hanging labor hours and reduce work intensity for bulk curing of the flue-cured tobacco, and electric hoist was developed. It consists of a pair of square steel frames with side plates and rolling casters to move back and forth on the second tire of bulk barn, and wire rope type lift was attached to the beneath of its top center. The lift driven by DC motor could be controlled by operating switch with one limit switch and control box, and a scissors shaped gripper was deviced to grip tobacco rack to the end of wire rope. As the results of experiments with electric hoist, labor hours for hanging could be saved by 30 to 40% as compared with those in conventional method. With simple and light structure, it was possible for even woman to load the harvested tobacco, and it could be recommended for farmers to use this device with reasonable price.

가정기기가 가사노동 수행과정에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Household Technology on Housework)

  • The purpose of this study was to review the technological deterministic debate that the development of household technology would decrease housework. For the purpose this study made use of all sorts of literature and the interview resources obtained from 86 housewives above 30 years old. It was expected the household capital goods would save housework time and labor. The total time spent in housework and fatigue however seemed not much lessened during the diffusion period. Household capital goods were also expected to enhace the housework satisfaction and increase much housework participation of husband and children; yet neither of them appeared much high during the diffusion period.

  • History , achievement and future of direct-wet-rice-seeding technique in Korea and problems encountered in on-farming research were introduced. Some farmers are very eager to lower production cost and save labor. Their effort results in several direct-wet-seeding methods and seeding machines. The design problems and improvement points related to the direct -wet-rice-seeding machines were drawn out of field test.

  • In this article, recent trends of technology in design of CNC system for machine tools which has increased in number and applications by needs for FA(Factory Automation), save of labor in various industries, are described. These technology improvements in CNC system take place especially in the field of performance, reliability, compactness, price, etc. From these technology improvements, the theme of "performance improvements of CNC system" are selected and mostly described in this article. Also, the major features of a CNC system product of our company and its characteristics in system design are briefly described.described.

우리나라의 연구개발활동이 비정규직 확산에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Korea's R&D Activities on Expansion of Contingent Job)

  • 본 연구는 기업들이 효율성 제고 전략의 일환으로 정규직을 임금이 낮은 비정규직 노동력으로 대체하는 현상과 연구개발 활동과의 관계를 규명하고자 하였다. 즉, 정규직을 비정규직 노동력으로 대체하는 것이 가능한 이유로 우리나라에서 비정규직의 확대로도 제품 경쟁력의 유지를 가능하게 만드는, 연구개발의 방향성에 주목하는 것이다. 이러한 논의를 실증하기 위해, VAR 방법론에 의한 추정결과를 살펴보면, 우리나라의 연구개발비 지출 증가세가 GDP 증가는 물론, 정규직의 대리변수인 상용직 변화와 비정규직의 대리변수인 임시직 및 임시일용직의 비율의 변화에 모두 Granger Causality가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 충격반응 함수 추정 결과를 살펴보면, 연구개발비에 외부적 충격이 가해지고 6~7분기 후에는 상용직 증가세가 줄어드는 것으로 나타났으며, 임시직 고용은 120분기 뒤에는 다시 상승세로 전환되는 등의 반응 양상이 나타나는 것으로 나타났다. 한편으로 이러한 분석 결과를 기반으로 향후 임시직/상용직 비율의 변화를 전망한 결과, 일정 기간의 감소세를 보이다 상승세로 반전하여 지속적인 상승세를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 임시직/상용직 비율의 증가세가 지속된다는 예측 결과는 연구개발비 지출의 확대에 따른 기술 변화가 노동시장의 불안정성과 연관성이 깊다는 것을 의미한다. 이러한 현상을 극복하기 위해서 기업의 비용절감 위주의 경쟁전략이 수정되어야 하며, 보다 적극적인 연구개발 인력 양성 계획의 수립 및 실천, 축적된 숙련에 기반하는 산업의 육성책 도입 등이 필요하다.

접목선인장 수출 증대 방안 (Exporting Promotion Strategy of Grafted Cacti)

  • 본 연구는 최근 수출이 정체 상태에 빠져있는 접목선인장에 대하여 수출 증대를 위한 대책을 강구한 것이다. 첫째 수출용 접목선인장 생산비의 대부분을 차지하는 인건비를 절감하기 위하여 양액재배기술의 도입과 경영규모의 확대가 필요하다. 둘째, 외국 Buyer의 수요를 충족시킬 수 있도록 수요가 확인된 접목 게발선인장이나 대형 접목선인장 등과 같이 수출품목을 다양화하고 시장특성을 살린 적극적인 수출 촉진 대책이 필요하다. 셋째 완성형 접목선인장의 수출 촉진으로 부가가치를 증대하고 넷째, 수출용 접목선인장의 품종 및 재배기술의 개발과 이들 지적재산권의 보호 대책강화, 관세인하와 식물검역기간 단축 등의 국제적 교섭을 강화하여야 한다. 다섯째, 차별화된 브랜드와 새로운 마케팅 방법의 도입이 필요하다.
