  • In this paper, we present a night-time vehicle detection method using CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) classification. The camera based night-time vehicle detection plays an important role on various advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as automatic head-lamp control system. The method consists mainly of thresholding, labeling and classification steps. The classification step is implemented by existing CIFAR-10 model CNN. Through the simulations tested on real road video, we show that CNN classification is a good alternative for night-time vehicle detection.

  • In this paper, we propose a livestock theft detection system through moving object classification and tracking method. To do this, first, we extract moving objects using GMM(Gaussian Mixture Model) and RGB background modeling method. Second, it utilizes a morphology technique to remove shadows and noise, and recognizes moving objects through labeling. Third, the recognized moving objects are classified into human and livestock using skeletal features and color similarity judgment. Fourth, for the classified moving objects, CAM (Continuously Adaptive Meanshift) Shift and Kalman Filter are used to perform tracking and overlapping judgment, and risk is judged to generate a notification. Finally, several experiments demonstrate the feasibility and applicability of the proposed method.

  • Probabilistic atlases for the human brain structure are more suitable than single brain atlases for representing population anatomy. In this study, we hypothesized the group-specific probabilistic atlas for accurate characteristic feature coding. Our proposed method for a new group comparison study, using a subpopulation specific probabilistic atlas, was based on this hypothesis. A knowledge-based automatic labeling technique using nonlinear registration was applied to encode group-specific regional probabilistic information. Direct atlas-based comparison using volume counting above the probability threshold, distance measurement and correlation analysis were performed based on the probabilistic atlas. Here, we applied this method for comparison between Korean and occidental groups. The results showed that this method could provide simple but intuitive regions of interest-based group analysis for the entire cortex area.

  • An isolated-word recognition method using adaptively partitioned multisection codebooks is proposed. Each training utterance was divided into several sections according to its pattern extracted by labeling technique. For each pattern, reference codebooks were generated by clustering the training vectors of the same section. In recognition procedure, input speech was divided into the sections by the same method used in codebook generation procedure, and recognized to the reference word whose codebook represented the smallest average distortion. The proposed method was tested for 100 Korean words and attained recognition rate about 96 percent.

  • This paper proposes dynamic thresholding scheme for fingerprint identification. As a user authentication method by fingerprint recognition technology, verification method based on 1:1 matching was mainly used in the past, but identification method based on 1:N matching is generally used recently. The control of the value of FAR is very important in the application areas such as access control and time attendance systems. This paper proposes dynamic thresholding scheme which could properly control the value of FAR according to the field of applications and size of the fingerprints database.

  • Presented in this paper is a scheduling method for semiconductor backend process considering the backward pegging. It is known that the pegging for frontend is a process of labeling WIP lots for target order which is specified by due date, quantity, and product specifications including customer information. As a result, it gives the release plan to meet the out target considering current WIP. However, the semiconductor backend process includes the multichip package and test operation for the product bin portion. Therefore, backward pegging method for frontend can't give the release plan for backend process in semiconductor. In this paper, we suggest backward pegging method considering the characteristics of multichip package and test operation in backend process. And we describe the backward pegging problem using the examples.

  • Breast cancer classification using ultrasound, while widely employed, faces challenges due to its relatively low predictive value arising from significant overlap in characteristics between benign and malignant lesions, as well as operator-dependency. To alleviate these challenges and reduce dependency on radiologist interpretation, the implementation of automatic breast cancer classification in ultrasound image can be helpful. To deal with this problem, we propose a semi-supervised deep learning framework for breast cancer classification. In the proposed method, we could achieve reasonable performance utilizing less than 50% of the training data for supervised learning in comparison to when we utilized a 100% labeled dataset for training. Though it requires more modification, this methodology may be able to alleviate the time-consuming annotation burden on radiologists by reducing the number of annotation, contributing to a more efficient and effective breast cancer detection process in ultrasound images.

  • Purpose: We underwent this study to evaluate the factors which influence labeling efficiency when modified in vivo erythrocyte labeling technique was used. Materials and methods: Thirty healthy volunteers (M:F=19:11, age:$25{\pm}2$ yrs) were enrolled in this study. Totally, two hundred ten samples were obtained from them. The 1 mg of stannous pyrophosphate was injected intravenously at the beginning of labeling. After suitable tinning time (5 min, 20 min, 35 min) passed by, blood (5 mL, 3 mL or 1 mL) was withdrawn into 10 mL syringe previously containing Tc-99m (740 MBq) and anticoagulant (heparin, ACD or CPDA) through 19-gauged scalp needle. The generator ingrowth time of Tc-99m was within 24 hrs in each case. The blood samples were placed on rotating invertor during incubation (10 min, 25 min, 40 min) but some of them were not. Immediately after the conclusion of incubation, the labeled blood specimens to analyze were centrifuged. and then %Unbound Tc-99m was calculated. Statical analysis was used paired T-test and one way ANOVA with SPSS 10.0. Results: The binding efficiency at 1 mL of blood volume was $73{\pm}32%,\;91{\pm}10%$ at 3 mL and $96{\pm}7%$ at 5 mL (p<0.01). The binding efficiency at 5 min of tinning time was $45{\pm}23%,\;98{\pm}6%$, at 20 min and $97{\pm}8%$ at 35 min (p<0.001). The binding efficiency at 10 min of incubation time was $96{\pm}7%,\;95{\pm}12%$ at 25 min and $98{\pm}3%$ at 40 min (p>0.05). The binding efficiency in case of using rotating invertor was $96{\pm}7%$ and the binding efficiency in case of not using it was $87{\pm}18%$ (p>0.05). There was no significant difference between them. In binding efficiency according to kinds of anticoagulants, ACD was $98{\pm}4%$, CPDA was $97{\pm}6%$ and heparin was $89{\pm}20%$ (p<0.001). Conclusion: When modified in vivo erythrocyte labeling technique is used with Tc-99m, the methods to obtain the highest labeling efficiency are as follow. The withdrawing blood volume should be over 3 mL, tinning time should be kept between 20 min and 35 min, and incubation time should be kept between 10 min and 40 min. ACD or CPDA have to be used as a anticoagulant except heparin and the blood samples should be placed on rotating invertor during incubation.

  • This paper presetns an iterative relaxation method for stereo matching using matching probability and compatibility coefficients between disparities. Stereo matching can be considered as the labeling problem of assigning unique matches to feature points of image an relaxation labelin gis an iterative procedure which reduces local ambiguities and achieves global consistency. the relation between disparities is determined from highly reliable matches in initial matching and quantitatively expressed in temrs of compatibility coefficient. The matching results of neighbor pixels support center pixel through compatibility coefficients and update its matching probability. The proposed adaptive method reduces the degradtons on the discontinuities of disparity areas and obtains fast convergence.

  • This paper deals with an input device without the touch. The existing touch screens have some problems such as the week durability by frequent contact and the high cost by complex hardware configuration. In this paper, a non-touch input device is proposed to overcome these problems. The proposed method uses a skin color generated by the HCbCr color model and a hand region obtained by the labeling technique. In Addition, the skeleton model is employed to improve the recognition performance of the hand motion. Finally, the experiment results show the applicability of the proposed method.
