  • To analyze current status of CPX in colleges of Traditional Korean Medicine nationwide and investigate the operations required for its development and distribution, we investigate current status of CPX in the nationwide colleges of Traditional Korean Medicine and suggest an improvement plan. A total of 7 colleges (graduate schools) performed CPX using the standardized patients as of July 2020 out of 13 colleges (graduate schools). Because there are a significant number of CPX modules developed by the colleges of Traditional Korean Medicine, a wide array of characteristics of Traditional Korean Medicine are covered, based on the literatures of Traditional Korean medicine. The scope of Clinical Presentation should established and a CPX module should be standardized to expand and distribute CPX in the education of Traditional Korean Medicine. If multiple colleges collect, train and manage the standardized patients in cooperation, CPX could be performed more effectively. Furthermore, medical clinical performance guide for Traditional Korean Medicine should be developed in cooperation. Greater support in the form of manpower, finance, and administration are required to distribute CPX to all colleges and develop various CPX modules.

  • The objective of this study was to propose a rehabilitation protocol for total hip replacement in Korean medicine and to report its effectiveness. Three patients who had undergone total hip replacement were treated using the rehabilitation protocol in Korean medicine. We evaluated the outcome evaluating physical examination findings of the hip joint, numeric rating scale, pain disability index, Harris hip score, and walking state. After the treatment, we observed that hip movement and muscular strength improved. Moreover numeric rating scale, pain disability index, Harris hip score, and walking state of patients improved. A rehabilitation in Korean medicine can be effectively used for total hip replacement patients. The limitation of this study was the insufficient number of cases. Further studies are needed to design a rehabilitation protocol in Korean medicine.

A patient diagnosed with DDH had been treated with acupuncture, electroacupuncture, cupping therapy and chuna manual therapy for 8 weeks. The patient was evaluated by using range of motion (ROM) of hip joint, muscle strength of lower extremity, leg length, numeric rating scale (NRS) and Korean version of hip disability and osteoarthritis outcome score (K-HOOS). After the treatment, the patient had an improvement in the symptoms, pain, and activities of daily living of K-HOOS, especially the quality of life. In addition, NRS decreased from 7 to 4 points, and ROM and muscle strength also improved. • The purpose of this study is to prepare the basis for a more objective evaluation of oral fluency by comparing speech patterns of Korean native speakers and L2 Korean learners. For this purpose, the current study focused on the analysis of speech materials of the 21st century Sejong spoken corpus and Korean learner corpus. We compared the oral fluency of Korean native speakers and Korean learners based on speech rate, pause, and discourse markers. The results show that the pattern of Korean learners is different to that of Korean native speakers in all aspects of speech rate, pause, and discourse markers; even though proficiency of Korean leaners show increase, they could not reach the oral fluency level of Korean native speakers. At last, based on these results of the analysis, we added suggestions for setting the evaluation criteria of oral fluency of Korean learners.

  • Scoliosis is a 3-dimensional spinal deformity defined as lateral curvature of the spine in the coronal plane of more than $10^{\circ}$. This study describes a case of functional scoliosis after hip injury. In this case, the patient fell whilst inline skating (June 2015) causing severe tilting of her spine, and left hip pain. She received outpatient treatment from July 14, 2015 to December 28, 2015. For approximately 5 months, acupuncture therapy was performed to relax the tension in both hips, Chuna therapy, and foot orthosis were applied to reduce the body's imbalance. Based on X-ray images, the Cobb angle had decreased from $14.73^{\circ}$ (pretreatment) to $1.90^{\circ}$ (posttreatment). This case report suggested that Korean medicine treatment could be an effective therapeutic choice for functional scoliosis.
