  • While being believed that decrypting any RSA ciphertext is as hard as factorizing the RSA modulus, it was also shown that, if additional information is available, breaking the RSA cryptosystem may be much easier than factoring. For example, Coppersmith showed that, given the 1/2 fraction of the least or the most significant bits of one of two RSA primes, one can factorize the RSA modulus very efficiently, using the lattice-based technique. More recently, introducing the so called cold boot attack, Halderman et al. showed that one can recover cryptographic keys from a decayed DRAM image. And, following up this result, Heninger and Shacham presented a polynomial-time attack which, given 0.27-fraction of the RSA private key of the form (p, q, d, $d_p$, $d_q$), can recover the whole key, provided that the given bits are uniformly distributed. And, based on the work of Heninger and Shacham, this paper presents a different approach for recovering RSA private key bits from decayed key information, under the assumption that some random portion of the private key bits is known. More precisely, we present the algorithm of recovering RSA private key bits from erased key material and elaborate the formula of describing the number of partially-recovered RSA private key candidates in terms of the given erasure rate. Then, the result is justified by some extensive experiments.

  • Recent evolution in the open access internet technology demands that the identifying information of a user must be protected. Authentication is a prerequisite to ensure the protection of user identification. To improve Qu et al.'s scheme for remote user authentication, a recent proposal has been published by Huang et al., which presents a key agreement protocol in combination with ECC. It has been claimed that Huang et al. proposal is more robust and provides improved security. However, in the light of our experiment, it has been observed that Huang et al.'s proposal is breakable in case of user impersonation. Moreover, this paper presents an improved scheme to overcome the limitations of Huang et al.'s scheme. Security of the proposed scheme is evaluated using the well-known random oracle model. In comparison with Huang et al.'s protocol, the proposed scheme is lightweight with improved security.

  • How to discover router vulnerabilities effectively and automatically is a critical problem to ensure network and information security. Previous research on router security is mostly about the technology of exploiting known flaws of routers. Fuzzing is a famous automated vulnerability finding technology; however, traditional Fuzzing tools are designed for testing network applications or other software. These tools are not or partly not suitable for testing routers. This paper designs a framework of discovering router protocol vulnerabilities, and proposes a mathematical model Two-stage Fuzzing Test Cases Generator(TFTCG) that improves previous methods to generate test cases. We have developed a tool called RPFuzzer based on TFTCG. RPFuzzer monitors routers by sending normal packets, keeping watch on CPU utilization and checking system logs, which can detect DoS, router reboot and so on. RPFuzzer' debugger based on modified Dynamips, which can record register values when an exception occurs. Finally, we experiment on the SNMP protocol, find 8 vulnerabilities, of which there are five unreleased vulnerabilities. The experiment has proved the effectiveness of RPFuzzer.

  • Elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) is widely used in hardware implementations of public-key crypto-systems for IoT devices and V2X communication because it is suitable for efficient hardware implementation and has high security strength. However, ECC-based public-key cryptography is known to have security vulnerabilities against side-channel attacks, so it is necessary to apply countermeasures against security attacks in designing ECC processor. This paper describes a survey on the side-channel attacks and countermeasures applicable to ECC processor design.

  • RSA cryptosystem is one of the most widely used public key cryptosystem. The security of RSA cryptosystem is based on hardness of factoring large number and hence there are ongoing attempt to factor RSA modulus. General Number Field Sieve (GNFS) is currently the fastest known method for factoring large numbers so that CADO-NFS - publicly well-known software that was used to factor RSA-704 - is also based on GNFS. However, one disadvantage is that CADO-NFS could not always select the optimal polynomial for given parameters. In this paper, we analyze CADO-NFS's polynomial selection stage. We propose modified polynomial selection using Chinese Remainder Theorem and Euclidean Distance. In this way, we can always select polynomial better than original version of CADO-NFS and expected to use for factoring RSA-1024.

  • Recently, a pixel-chaotic-shuffling (PCS) method has been proposed by Huang et al. for encrypting color images using multiple chaotic systems like the Henon, the Lorenz, the Chua, and the Rossler systems. All of which have great encryption performance. The authors claimed that their pixel-chaotic-shuffle (PCS) encryption method has high confidential security. However, the security analysis of the PCS method against the chosen-plaintext attack (CPA) and known-plaintext attack (KPA) performed by Solak et al. successfully breaks the PCS encryption scheme without knowing the secret key. In this paper we present an improved shuffling pattern for the plaintext image bits to make the cryptosystem proposed by Huang et al. resistant to chosen-plaintext attack and known-plaintext attack. The modifications in the existing PCS encryption method are proposed to improve its security performance against the potential attacks described above. The Number of Pixel Change Rate (NPCR), Unified Average Changed Intensity (UACI), information entropy, and correlation coefficient analysis are performed to evaluate the statistical performance of the modified PCS method. The simulation analysis reveals that the modified PCS method has better statistical features and is more resistant to attacks than Huang et al.'s PCS method.

  • Cloud computing provides each consumer with a large-scale computing tool. Different Cyber Attacks can potentially target cloud computing systems, as most cloud computing systems offer services to many people who are not known to be trustworthy. Therefore, to protect that Virtual Machine from threats, a cloud computing system must incorporate some security monitoring framework. There is a tradeoff between the security level of the security system and the performance of the system in this scenario. If strong security is needed, then the service of stronger security using more rules or patterns is provided, since it needs much more computing resources. A new way of security system is introduced in this work in cloud environments to the VM on account of resources allocated to customers are ease. The main spike of Fog computing is part of the cloud server's work in the ongoing study tells the step-by-step cloud server to change the tremendous measurement of information because the endeavor apps are relocated to the cloud to keep the framework cost. The cloud server is devouring and changing a huge measure of information step by step to reduce complications. The Medical Data Health-Care (MDHC) records are stored in Cloud datacenters and Fog layer based on the guard intensity and the key is provoked for ingress the file. The monitoring center sustains the Activity Log, Risk Table, and Health Records. Cloud computing and Fog computing were combined in this paper to review data movement and safe information about MDHC.

  • Recently, smartphone communications using Wi-Fi channel are increasing rapidly to provide diverse internet services. The WPA security protocol was used for data protection between user and wireless AP. However, WPA-PSK protocol was known to be weak to the dictionary attack. In this paper, we proposed a secure WPA-PSK protocol to resist the dictionary attack. Since the proposed method was designed to generate a strong encryption key which is combined the Diffie-Hellman key agreement scheme with secrecy property of PSK(Pre-Shared Key), we can protect the Wi-Fi channel from Man-In-The-Middle attack and Rogue AP impersonation attack.

  • Knapsack public-key cryptosystems are based on the knapsack problem which is NP-complete. aii of the knapsack problem, are known to be insecure. However, the Chor and Rivest knapsack cryptosystem based on arithmetic in finite field is secure against all known cryptosystem based on arithmetic in a finite field is secure against all known cryptanalytic attacks. We suggest a new msthod of attack on knapsack cryptosystem which is based on the relaxation of a quadratic 0-1 integer optimization problem. We show that under certain condirions some bits of the solution of knapsack problem can be determined by using persistency property of linear relaxation. Also we propose a new Chor-Rivest system, this new cryptosystem reduces the number of calculation of discrete logarithms which are necessary for the implemention in a multi-user system.

  • The PP-1/64-128 block cipher support variety data block and secret key size. Also, it is suitable for hardware implementation and can much easier to apply Concurrent Error Detection(CED) for cryptographic chips compared to other block ciphers, because it has same encryption and decryption process. In this paper, we proposed truncated differential cryptanalysis of PP-1/64-128. the attack on PP-1/64-128 block cipher requires $2^{50.16}$ chosen plaintexts, $2^{46.16}$ bytes memory spaces and $2^{50.45}$ PP-1/64-128 encryption to retrieve secret key. This is the best result of currently known PP-1/64-128 differential cryptanalysis.
