Purpose: The article aims to assess the possibilities and contribution of countries to the creation and distribution of knowledge circulating in the scientific and technological space of the EAEU. Research design, data, and methodology: To understand the conditions and possibilities for the distribution of knowledge, the methodology of the quality of economic space used. The space is considered through density, placement, connectedness, and asymmetry. Used bibliometric analysis, balance of payments analysis, and integration indicators. Results: The study showed that low barriers, including language, created visible advantages in the mutual distribution of knowledge. However, the geo-technological space of the EAEU is polarised and has differences in the density and distribution of scientific resources. Asymmetries are shown in the distance between countries in multidirectional trends. Cooperation between countries has a different level of interaction. Conclusions: The internal resources of the geo-technological space of the EAEU are limited, and most of the needs are covered by external sources. Some mechanisms of the scientific policy of countries in scientific careers act as «demotivates» for distributing knowledge within the EAEU. Countries need to improve the quality of services and trade data to better understand technology distribution processes through bilateral channels.

온라인 정보자원의 활용이 급속히 증가하면서, 정보자원 이용량에 대한 일관적이고 표준화된 통계 구축의 필요성에 대한 인식이 널리 확산되고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 도서관에서는 정보공급사로부터 이용통계를 수작업으로 수집하고, 정보공급사별로 상이한 통계 보고서를 재가공하여 분석하기에는 많은 어려움이 따른다. 본 논문에서는 전자정보 컨소시엄에 참가하는 개별 도서관을 대신하여 컨소시엄 주관기관에서 각 정보공급사별 이용통계를 자동으로 통합 수집하여 표준화된 포맷으로 구축하고, 이를 다양한 형태와 정보로 재가공하여 서비스 방안을 제안하였다.

The present study examined subject classification and the characteristics of old Oriental medicine literature focused on Web services of Oriental medicine knowledge and information resources. For this, we reviewed how subject classification is applied to Oriental medicine in the codified literature classification table and, based on the results, examined how the classification system is used in libraries. Second, subject classification and the characteristics of old Oriental medicine literature were studied focused on Web services of Oriental medicine knowledge and information resources, and related problems and solutions were suggested.

최근 들어 다국적 기업들에 의한 전통지식과 유전자원에 대한 해적행위가 증가하고 있다. 이에 세계지식재산권기구의 국제조사기관 회의에서는 전통지식을 보호하기 위해서 전통지식문헌이 Patent Cooperation Treaty 비특허문헌에 포함되어야 한다는 것에 동의하였다. 대한민국에서는 특허청과 농촌진흥청이 전통지식보호를 위한 활동에 선도적인 역할을 수행해 오고 있다. 특허청은 Korean Journal of Traditional Knowledge을 2007년 말부터 한국전통지식포탈을 통해 서비스하고 있으며, 이는 2008년에 PCT 최소문헌으로 선정되었다. 농촌진흥청은 1997년부터 현재까지 전통 농업 지식과 향토음식에 대한 정보를 발굴하여 책자로 발간해 오고 있다. 또한 농촌진흥청이 발굴한 전통지식은 2010년부터 한국전통지식포탈에서 검색가능하다. 본 논문에서는 전통지식을 보호 및 활용하기 위한 전반적인 활동을 소개한다.

그동안 행해진 중앙 집중형의 지식 창고(Knowledge Repository)에 분산된 지식을 모으는 방식만으로는 개인의 역량 및 조직의 경쟁력 강화라는 지식 관리의 본질적 목표에 달성하기 어렵다. 지속가능한 지식 생태계를 구축하기 위해서는 독립적인 지식 생산이 아닌 교류와 협력을 통한 지식 생산으로 확대되어야 하며, 이를 통해 유의미하고 고부가가치의 지식 자원을 생산할 수 있어야 한다. 이에 본 연구는 과학기술 지식자원을 저장하고 개방·공유·활용을 통해 지식을 재생산하고 진화시키는 통합서비스 플랫폼을 설계하는 것을 목표로 한다. 설계된 플랫폼은 그 우수성을 평가하기 위해, 계획 수립의 적정성, 플랫폼의 효과성, 플랫폼의 효율성, 로드맵의 적정성 항목들로 분류된 세부 항목들에 대해 평가를 수행하였으며, 상기 4개 평가 항목에 대해 평균 95.56점을 받았다.

The need of Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) in healthcare setup is increasing day by day. EHR Meaningful Use advocates CDSS as an important component of EHR/EMR systems. CDSS can be ranged from a simple to a very sophisticated system. The more complex CDSS systems need more attention to develop because of many reasons including its Knowledge Base (KB) structure/maintenance/evolution, inference capabilities and usability. Above all the KB maintenance and evolution is very crucial and important from the perspective of useful decision capabilities. Also the richness of the KB is important to cover the decision gaps handling a particular situation in the course of patient care. It cannot be expected from the clinicians to remember everything in regard to patient diagnosis and treatment. Similarly, it is also crucial for clinicians to keep themselves updated with the new research in the area. That is the reason they frequently require accessing to the online knowledge resources. Literature proved that online knowledge resources are capable providing answers to questions that might not be answered rely only on clinician wisdom and experience. This paper provides the theme of meaningful utilization of online knowledge resources in the context of diagnosis and treatment process for cancer patients more specifically Head and Neck cancer.

In this study, users' perceptions and concerns about digital information resources were investigated, focusing on impediments to the use of digital resources, to devise measures for improvement by identifying factors that hinder the use of digital information resources. To achieve the purpose of the study, the research identifies the inconvenien ce factors and establishes the user inconvenience list based on prior research and the current status survey. Based on the derived list, a survey was conducted on users of public libraries. Through this study, it was found that the use of digital information resources can be enhanced by improving the internal library system. Specifically, it refers to improving search performance and accessibility of digital data, providing one-stop services for digital information resources through the operation of an integrated data management system, conducting customized user education, and establishing a digital information resource preservation system, e.g. web archiving. Also, improving the external environment and system, such as contracting with more libraries for digitized data use agreements, strengthening support, unifying the names and classifications of digital information resources, and simplifying the procedure for using digital information resources, is of great importance.

A cross sectional survey method was used to determine the utilization of e-resources and their influence on the reading culture of 119 undergraduate students registered with the JD Amin library of Federal University Dutse. The data collected was analysed using both descriptive (frequency counts and means) and inferential statistics (regression analysis). The research found that databases (mean=4.00) and e-journal (mean=4.00) are available to the undergraduate students. It further found that e-resources are often utilized by the undergraduate student, with social media (mean=4.00), databases (mean=4.00) and e-journal (mean=4.00). the most commonly used e-resources. It was also found that erratic power supply (mean=3.91) and inability to seek, obtain and evaluate information (mean=3.67) are the prominent factors hindering the utilization of e-resources. The regression analysis rejected the null hypotheses of the study where it shows that the level of utilization of e-resources have positive statistical correlation (r=0.772) with the reading culture of undergraduate students. The study proposed a conceptual model for the sustainable reading culture of students by libraries providing of e-resources. The general conclusion of the research is that e-resources are necessary tools and are moderately available and adequately utilized for influencing reading culture. The study recommended that Internet facilities should be made available to undergraduate students to facilitate more utilization of e-resources.

Conventional financial accounting system has overseen the significant roles of the non-financial facets of the activities of the company, especially whose value creating abilities are based on knowledge assets. In the knowledge-based economy, telecommunication service companies must recognize the changes from the tangible assets to the knowledge assets as value creating resources, understand the dynamic processes in which the knowledge is converted to financial profits and seek the method to measure and report knowledge assets to sustain the competitive advantage continuously. This study proposes the indicators and measures of knowledge assets of Korea Telecom. Through the analysis and application of tile knowledge assets report of the Korea Telecom, this study shows the usefulness of the knowledge assets report.

The study examined information retrieval tools as predictors for information resources utilization, four research questions, and four hypotheses were made to guide the study. A descriptive survey was adopted for the study. Random sampling technique was used to select sample of 393 from a population of 557 academic staff registered in the University of Port Harcourt library. The questionnaire was adopted as a data collection instrument titled Information retrieval as predictors for information resources utilization (IRPIRUQ). Data were analyzed using both simple and multiple regression while analysis of variance (ANOVA) associate with regression was used for testing the hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level. The study revealed that information resources are under utilized as the OPAC and Online Databases are not easily accessed. Further findings showed that the academic staff made use of internet search engines more often than the OPAC and online databases. It was recommended among others that a new library software be installed in place of KOHA for wider connectivity and adequate distribution of software that will aid usage of the online databases and OPAC.
