  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was verifying factors that affect to intention to use AI financial services and finding a way of building an user oriented AI ecology. Methods: This study used the UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) model with independent variables such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, trust, personal innovativeness and AI understanding as moderating variable. The data was collected through online & offline survey with questionnaire from 330 financial customers. Results: As a result, the analysis suggested that the performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, personal innovativeness are statistically significant to the intention to use AI. It was also found that AI knowledge of users differently influence the intention to use through the moderating effect on the facilitating conditions. Conclusion: Performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, personal innovativeness have positive causation to the intention to use in AI financial service. On the facilitating conditions, unlike other variables, it was found that the user's intention to use was different by the level of AI understanding. It means that customers could have the strong intention to use AI even though they don't have enough pieces of knowledge on the factors. Customers seem to be of recognition that the technology has certain benefits for themselves. The facilitating factors are significantly affected by AI understanding and differently effect on the intention to use AI.

  • Purpose This study aims to understand the role of digital knowledge in accepting the green technology. This study combined digital option theory with the second version of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2). Contrary to other studies in which the UTAUT2 is used to explain IT adoption behavior, we look at the relationship between IT and the UTAUT2 from a new angle, incorporating an important aspect of IT, that is, digitized knowledge richness, as a determinant of the UTAUT2. Design/methodology/approach Grounded in the UTAUT2, a content analysis was conducted to investigate novel constructs dedicated to explaining green technology adoption. In this study, an amended version of the UTAUT2 specific to green technology is offered that better explains the green technology adoption behavior of consumers. Using the items identified by content analysis, we developed a questionnaire with 36 survey items. We measured all the items on a seven-point Likert-type scale. We randomly selected 402 survey respondents from a set of panel data. After a pilot study, we analyzed the main survey data by using PLS 2.0M3 and SPSS 20.0, and employed structural equation modeling to test the hypotheses. Findings The results suggest that the UTAUT2 was found to be extendable to technologies other than conventional IT. Social influence is more significant than conventional utilitarian and hedonic-based constructs such as those utilized in the UTAUT and UTAUT2 in explaining adoption behavior in the context of green technologies. The hypothesized connection between digitized knowledge richness and adoption intention was supported by the results of studies on the role of IT in formation of attitudes toward eco-friendly production. The results also indicate that digital knowledge can also encourage people to try green technology when they learn that their peers are already using the technology successfully.

  • This research aims is to confirm the effects of cultural competence of an action learning based teaching method in multicultural nursing education. Cultural competence was composed of cultural knowledge, cultural awareness and cultural acceptance. A total of 118 college students were enrolled in this study. Both before and after learning, the students were guided to fill out a questionnaire regarding culture competence. The students from each group studied multicultural nursing by different teaching types: the Traditional Lecture-based Teaching method (TLT) and Action Learning based Teaching method (ALT). Data analysis was carried out by SPSS 21.0. A pre-post comparison within the group was performed using a paired t-test and the comparison between groups was performed using ANCOVA. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the culture competence in both teaching methods. In addition, ALT showed higher cultural acceptance results than TLT; however, there was no difference in cultural knowledge and cultural awareness between the two groups Therefore, ALT should be considered as a teaching method to enhance cultural competence in multicultural nursing education for Nursing students. Further studies on instructional design according to the task types, nursing performance, and the validity of ALT will be needed.

  • Research related to hydrogen technology is being actively conducted around the world. Korea is also making great efforts to develop technology to leap forward as a hydrogen economy powerhouse. In particular, the world's No. 1 hydrogen vehicle penetration rate is proof of this. However, the construction of hydrogen refueling stations is being delayed. The biggest delay factor is the public opposition. As such, policies without public support cannot be successfully implemented and are not sustainable. Therefore, this study intends to analyze the factors affecting the acceptability of hydrogen refueling stations in favor of and against them. As a research method, the basic factors affecting acceptability were identified by reviewing previous studies, and a questionnaire was designed and investigated based on the established factors. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were verified, and the hypothesis was verified through correlation analysis. And, using structural equation modeling, a factor model was developed on the acceptability of hydrogen refueling stations. As a result of the study, acceptability defined private acceptability and public acceptability. In the case of private acceptability, it was confirmed that the higher the attitude toward the environment, the higher the level of knowledge about the hydrogen charging station, and the lower the degree of feeling the risk of the hydrogen charging station, the higher the acceptability. In the case of public acceptability, it was confirmed that the higher the benefit, the better the attitude toward the environment, and the lower the risk-taking characteristics of the individual, the higher the acceptability. Therefore, in this study, based on the potential factors verified in previous studies, the main factors affecting the acceptance on hydrogen refueling stations were identified. And the acceptance model was developed using structural equation modeling. This study is expected to provide basic data to seek ways to improve the acceptance of public when implementing national policies such as hydrogen refueling stations, and to be used analysis data for scientific communication.

  • This study attempts to analyze the structure of the knowledge and duties of the vocational counseling service industry by using the text mining method and network analysis, which are methods of big data analysis. The subjects of the survey were vocational counseling, job placement and career change support, three fields in the unit elements of competence included in the National Competency Standards (NCS) which areproposed by the government. Although the analysis results of frequently used words showed that all three fields had independent duties, many were overlapping, such as counseling, examination, employment support, etc. for clients, job seekers, and others. The knowledge required by the employees of this field includes many new fields, such as start-up development, lifelong career consulting, job adaptation and culture conflict, besides the five subjects of vocational psychology, vocational counseling, labor market, job information, and law, which are included in the vocational counselor certification examination. Also, we suggested that the consultants adhere to emotional approaches, such as empathy, acceptance and attentiveness, and take a neutral stance. This study isvaluable in that it is the first attempt to objectively analyze the duties of the vocational counseling service field by big data analysis. In addition, it is also meaningful that we first confirmed the difference between the direction of government policy and the actual practice in the field.

  • The life cycle of new information technologies is getting shorter, and the technologies are becoming more complex and difficult to understand. The need to better understand adoption of object orientation motivates this paper. Adoption of object orientation should certainly be influenced by prior software process technologies, such as the process-oriented structured methods, because object orientation is considered to be a paradigm shift from conventional software process technologies. This study aims to empirically analyze knowledge interference of the structured methods with object orientation. A two factorial quasi-experimental design is set forth. The period of experience using the structured methods and the period of experience using object orientation are selected as two independent variables, and the perceived ease of use is chosen as one dependent variable. Data are gathered from active members of Data Processing Management Association (DPMA), who have experiences in using both the structured methods and object orientation. The final results empirically show that previous experience using the structured methods negatively influences the perception of using object orientation that is one of critical factors to technology adoption. It is suggested here that a future study dealing with the same research topic in other countries will provide new insights about comparative studies.

  • Nutrition label (NL) on the package of processed food provides consumers with a reliable and consistent source of information . It has been considered as a useful aid for food selection and a potent educational tool for nutrition in daily life. Since current nutrition labeling regulation in Korea does not define a format for presenting nutrition information a wide variety of NL format exists in the markers created by individual manufacturers. Development of standard NL format and its registration remain to be the work for the professionals and government officials. However the acceptance and evaluation of NL by the consumers is a very important and necessary process in the development of NL formats. In this study four different formats A, B, C, D were formulated based on currently circulating labels and new U.S.NL. Subjects used for evaluation of these formats were middle -aged highly educated housewives, who and the potential users of NL. Major parameters observed through the questionnare were their nutritional knowledge of RDA, ability of IC(Information Comparison) and CA (Comprehension and Application of informed nutrient contents), as well as their preference to the different formats. The results are summarized as follows. 1) Of the 178 subjects , 89.9% of the middleaged housewives were college graduates. Their nutrition knowledge of RDA were relatively satisfactory showing over 80% correlation on the basic concepts and unit while for numerical value less than 50% correct answer. 2) IC test scores were significantly different among the formats showing the highest values for format A and B which are presented as absolute value and % RDA, respectively. Format C presented as serving size(number of products) showed the lowest score. CA scores were also significantly different, though the increased load of information did not facilitate to increase the consumers comprehension. 3) RDA knowledge test scores and the scores of IA and CA were correlated in format A and D but not in format B and C suggesting % RDA presentation would be more acceptable to the less educated group. 4) For the preference in the aspects of easiness and time-saving format A was the best one then format D supporting the result of IC and CA test. The results of the present study indicate the most useful and preferred format is the simplest format presented as absolute value without RDA, . The secondly preferred format is the new NL format of the US with much information .

  • To provide basic data necessary to develop an efficient sealant project as a public oral health project, this study applied a sealant through a photodimerization method to first-graders from public primary schools in the Dong-gu Health Center in Incheon and conducted a survey on favor and knowledge of the sealant project with their parents and, consequently, obtained the following results. 1. 84.7% of the parents knew a sealant and most of them got the knowledge from a dental clinic (35.7%) or a school (31.6%). 2. A large majority of respondents (86.2%) were satisfied with sealant application; many parents (75.8%) checked for maintenance of the sealant; and 75.6% demanded reexamination after sealant application. 3. As factors associated with acceptance of a sealant, high recognition of a sealant, much experience of visiting a dental clinic, and parents' great concern about children's dental health were related to high sealant application. To put the results together, it is desirable to develop the sealant project by the Dong-gu Health Center in Incheon actively as a public oral health project.

  • The major purpose of this study was to develop the nutrition education contents and material through the basic data from the service provider and the consumer. And also, to find out the differences of attitude and needs between the service provider (SP breastfeeding specialist), present consumer (PC, pregnant or lactating women) and future consumer (FC, college women). There were types of questionnaires, which consisted of needs and attitudes toward child and maternal nutrition, as well as the personal characteristics of the study subjects. The subjects consisted of 113 breastfeeding specialists who served at medical related institutions, 197 pregnant or lactating women and 309 college women. The self-administered questionnaires from subjects were collected from October to November 2005 in Seoul and Kyunggi Province. The data was analysed by SPSS Win 12.0, ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis test. The results of this study were as following: 1) The most Important determining factors on breastfeeding was 'medical specialist's support' (3.51) and the next one was 'knowledge of maternity care practice' (3.39). And the importance score of determinating factors on breastfeeding was significantly different between each group (p < 0.001). The groups of consumer (3.50 at PC and 3.59 at FC) considered the service provider (3.32) more important. The service providers considered a more effective determining factor to be 'husband and family support' and 'peer support' than the others (p <0.001). 2) To compare the effective factors of breastfeeding practices between the three groups, the service providers were more significantly considered than the otters such as 'attendance of intervention program' (p < 0.001). But the PC group considered the most effective factors wis 'mother's job after delivery'. 3) The self-evaluated score of the breastfeeding knowledge was the most high in SP; the score was significantly different between groups. The knowledge score of nutritional aspects in human milk was most highly evaluated. But maternity care practice and public acceptance marked the lower evaluation score than other issues. 4) The desirable types of educational material was mass media, and the next was printed matter such as booklets. Two kinds if consumers preferred DVD or VCR tapes than and the service provider group (p < 0.001). 5) The priority contents of nutrition service PC group wanted the information about infant care more than maternal care (p < 0.05), but FC group's priority was significantly different compared with PC group (p < 0.001). The priority of SP group pointed out the information of practical child care methods. The results showed the needs of nutrition service, education channels, and perception toward effective factors on consumer behavior changes were significantly different between each group. Thus the result of this study may suggest that consumer oriented nutrition service programs must be developed.
