  • The purpose of this study is to provide for the basic data useful to the knitwear size standards for the effective production. For this purpose, knit promotions that product knitwear for 20 age $\sim$ 30 middle age women were sampled to survey their condition of the size designation and basic product size of knitwear, and their directors were surveyed through direct interviews. Data is processed by a computer(SPSS) and analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean and mode. The results of this study are as follows. 1. Size designation and bodysize of knitwear are not standardized. 2. Knit promotions that don't mark bodysize on the size designation label are not a few. 3. Cardigan's sizes except for a few part are equal to round/pola T-shirt's sizes or are large more than those.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a system by which the tensile properties of knitted fabrics can be applied. In this study, 3 different conditions of tensile property were tested on 8 sample fabrics with various stitches and stretch ranges. The subjects were five women of age from 18 to 24 years showing average body figures. The major findings derived from this investigation were as follows: The tensile properly of 12gf/cm was considered as appropriate for applying into the pattern alteration in the case of moderate stretch(course, $25\~35\%$) or over samples. However, for the stable stretch(course, under $20\%$) fabrics, such as Milano rib stitch, a tensile properly of 20gf/cm was regarded as more valid.

  • The bending properties, wrinkle resistance, and fabric retention behaviors of cotton knitted fabrics in the wale and course directions were studied for their dependence upon resin finishing, knit structure, and washing cycles. Stiffness, wrinkle recovery angles, and dimensional stability were investigated before and after resin finishing and laundering. It has been found that any change in the physical properties of the knitted fabrics with respect to knit structure and fabric directions are related to accompanying modifications to the state of the fiber properties. The decrease of fabric shrinkage rates and wrinkle recovery properties from increasing laundering cycles is related with resin incorporated on the fiber surface. This study shows that resin finishing on knitted fabrics can be performed only to improve fabric retention properties with reduced wrinkle recovery properties.

  • This study was carried out to develop the automation bark peeling process of paper mulberry for making Hanji. Nowadays, almost raw material has been imported from south-east asia for making Hanji. Raw material dependence is very high for Hanji-making by low productivity in korea. This study is focused on the resolution for problem of bark peeling automation. Water and sand jet of compressed air was possible bark peeling for black bast fiber. The effect of removing black bast fiber increased the longer the steaming time. Also using drum of bark peeling showed that results under temperature $80^{\circ}C$ and Rpm 50/min were best bark peeling and separating bast fiber from stem. The contents of holocellulose, lignin, ethanol-benzene extractives, and ash were 91.63~95.55%, 1.4~2.0%, 1.12~1.65%, and 1.4~4.3%, respectively. Chemical characteristics are similar between imported raw-material with drum bark.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate research trends in the knitwear fashion field and suggest future directions for fashion businesses and research. Research trends in the knitwear fashion field were investigated. A total of 134 articles on knitwear fashion field among 4027 published in five journals - Journal of the Korean Society of Knit Design, Journal of the Korean Society of Costume Culture, Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles, Journal of the Korean Society of Fashion & Costume, and Journal of the Korean Society of Costume - from 2001 to 2010 were analyzed. Most (32.84%) of articles related to knitwear fashion were published in Journal of the Korean Society of Knit Design. The knitwear fashion field was divided into fashion design, clothing construction, textile science, fashion marketing, and history of costume. The majority (43.28%) were on the research topic of fashion design, followed by textile science, clothing construction, fashion marketing, history of costume. From 2001 to 2010, the number of papers relating to knitwear fashion increased from year to year. The further development of the knitwear fashion field can be expected in the future.

  • Recently, knitted materials are used more often than ever before in fashion. Therefore it is necessary to study their application into garment patterns. The purpose of this study was to develop a system by which the tensile property of knitted fabrics can be applied. In this study, 5 different distribution methods of tensile property were tested on 2 sample fabrics which have a lower and higher tensile property than moderate-stretch. The subjects were five women within an age range from 18 to 24 who showed average body figures. The major findings derived from this investigation were as follows; The 4th method was regarded as the most valid. The 4th method was fixed proportional alteration based on the reduction amount of bust girth, i.e. front (back) width and shoulder width reduced by 60% of the bust girth reduction and neck point reduced by 28% of the bust girth reduction. When the reduction was based on the proportion of the actual measurements, the alteration was too severe, so that the armhole curve was changed into a very uncomfortable curve.

  • Knitwears are originated earlier than textiles in human beings life. And then human beings life. And then human beings have been continuously developing as life patterns of human beings are becoming various and society is rapidly changing. Recently , changing life styles of the consumer emphasize the importance of the high quality , individuality , variety , and activity of knitwears. In this study , university women and housewives livings in Seoul have been surveyed in the cause of analyzing of the consumer's actual conditions. And eight brands of th specialized knit enterprises also have been surveyed, though it is imperfect . The purpose of this study lies in giving a help to the rational clothing habits of consumer and presenting some courses for aiming of korean knit industry. I made use of percentage and $x^2$-test for the analysis of the data and analyzed the contents of the question papers.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the preferences of the uniform design for the preschool student's parents. 97 parents became subjects for the research and questionaries were analysed by distribution of frequency and percentage using SPSS V. 18.0. The results of this study could be summarized as followings. First, most of the parents preferred to wearing preschool uniform and expected further improvement in function, material and design. Second, the preferred form was semi formal style consisting of shirt, knit vest, knit cardigan, and coat. Third, the preferred colors were the mixing together bright colors and quiet colors in vivid and pastel tone. Fourth, functional materials to comfort in children's physical activities and to serve convenience in cleaning were preferred. In Conclusion, the preferred design characteristics were combined function to enhance comfort and convenience in children's physical activities with esthetics to present loveliness and modesty as preschool students.

  • The purpose of this study has been to investigate the effect of dilation on the some mechanical properties of several types of warp-knitted vascular grafts. The structures of warp knit vascular grafts used in the experiments were reverse locknit, locknit, and Tricot. Various mechanical properties of these grafts were determined using devices developed for the purpose. Clinical data obtained were compared with experimental results of warp knit vascular grafts. The most important mechanical properties are found to be creep extension, bursting strengths, and compliance. Preliminary results indicate that vascular grafts are non-compliant and exhibit creep which is predictive of the long term dilation that has been noted in the clinical results. It is found that there is a positive correlation between experimental data and clinical results for at least the grafts tested.
