  • Handy paint rollers with simple or no patterns are generally used to transcribe its design to a wall just after painting. However, the types of the patterns are limited to several conventional ones, so that interior planners' or decorators' demands are gradually tending to getting attractive roller designs. In order to obtain abundant kinds of the roller designs, a new advanced 3D machining method should be established for cylindrical models. In this paper, a post-processor that can generate suitable NC data is proposed for multi-axis NC machine tools with a rotary unit. The 3D machining system with the post-processor is also presented for an attractive interior decorating. The machining system allows us to easily transcribe the relief designs from on a flat model to on a cylindrical model. The effectiveness of the proposed 3D machining system using the post-processor is demonstrated through some machining experiments.

  • This paper describes to access the insulation deterioration condition of the stator windings in three large turbine generators. Nondestructive tests have been carried out on stand-still generators which have been in service for 2 to 30 years. In most cases these tests include ac current increase rate($\Delta$I), delta tan delta( ${\Delta}tan{\delta}$), and maximum partial discharge(Qm). Gen. 2 show that the $tan{\delta}$ is higher than other two generators in the $tan{\delta}$-voltage curve. Partial discharge(PD) patterns were observed internal, corona and treeing discharges in large turbine generators. The PD tests were confirmed the correlation between discharge patterns and the kinds of defects.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the patterns of commercial Cheollik dresses by size analysis and wearing evaluation. Six kinds of commercial Cheollik dress patterns distributed on the market were selected and classified into two types group, A type group(A-1, A-2, A-3) consisting of flat type sleeve pattern and B type group(B-1, B-2, B-3) consisting of three-dimensional type sleeve pattern depending on the sleeve type. The size of the Cheollik dress pattern was analyzed, and wearing evaluations of the appearance, movability were carried out. Cheollik dress pattern was made in various size and many patterns were produced in the form of omission of components such as seop. It should be based on the understanding of the form and composition of the traditional Cheollik for pattern development. As a result of the wearing evaluation, A-2 showed the highest evaluation in the appearance and movability evaluations in type A. B-2 was the highest evaluation in appearance evaluation in type B. But in the evaluation of the movability, B-2 received the lowest evaluation because of little allowance. Therefore, the allowance in clothes should be considered enough for the movability. The result of this study can be provided as a basic data for the development of Cheollik dress pattern reflecting modern trend and the traditional beauty.

  • Phase-shifting method using Fourier transform (PSM/FT) has been applied to measurement of in-plane displacement of a specimen. Thirty-two interference fringe patterns each of which has different phase of ${\pi}/16$ radian have been gathered from a specimen with in-plane displacement. Low-pass filtering by 2-D Fourier transform is used to suppress spatial noise of the fringe patterns. ${\alpha}-directional$ Fourier transform for PSM/FT is performed by use of the low-pass filtered 32 fringe patterns. Two kinds of specimens are used for experiment. One is a rectangular steel plate and the other one is a rectangular steel plate containing a circular hole at the center. In-plane displacement of each specimen is measured by PSM/FT, and calculated by finite element method (ANSYS) for comparison. The results are quite comparable, so that PSM/FT can be applied to measurement of in-plane displacement.

  • Although some scholars have studied the thermal post-buckling of graphene platelets strengthened metal foams (GPLRMFs) plates, they have not considered the influence of initial geometrical imperfection. Inspired by this fact, the present paper studies the thermal post-buckling characteristics of GPLRMFs plates with initial geometrical imperfection. Three kinds of graphene platelets (GPLs) distribution patterns including three patterns have been considered. The governing equations are derived according to the first-order plate theory and solved with the help of the Galerkin method. According to the comparison with published paper, the accuracy and correctness of the present research are verified. In the end, the effects of material properties and initial geometrical imperfection on the thermal post-buckling response of the GPLRMFs plates are examined. It can be found that the presence of initial geometrical imperfection reduces the thermal post-buckling strength. In addition, the present study indicates that GPL-A pattern is best way to improve thermal post-buckling strength for GPLRMFs plates, and the presence of foams can improve the thermal post-buckling strength of GPLRMFs plates, the Foam- II and Foam- I patterns have the lowest and highest thermal post-buckling strength. Our research can provide guidance for the thermal stability analysis of GPLRMFs plates.

  • In need of studies on the kinds and structure of thread, the biggest variable factor in knitwear patterns, this study attempts: to examine the physical properties by thread type to basically establish systematic data in order to utilize various mixture and structure of yarn and to contribute to the development of optical patterns by building a systemic and scientific methods to produce knit wear patterns though a statistical analysis of the relation between the variations and physical properties. The results is as follows: with time, a feature of knit, which causes instability making it difficult to maintain the original shape, related to material properties, the weight and expansibility recovery rate have the greatest influence on the variation of wale lengths, though the amount varies by material. The variation of course contraction is closely related to density, the dense fabrics showing the highest values, due to the bust of the human body, the wale length variation of the front is greater than that of the back, by a regression analysis of material properties and the variations is obtained showing the weight, density and expansibility recovery rate have the greatest influence on the wale extension and course contraction of knit.

  • These days are referred to as 'the times of textile fashion,' owing to the emphasis on textile design in the fashion industry. Accordingly, apparel companies have increased their interests in developing new types of textiles to overcome the limits of style and silhouette. Now the ultra-fashion of textile, a new way of process and design development, is given much more attention. A Moire interference pattern has a longer wavy circle of interference, an effect of intensity interference, than one made by piling more than one reflecting plate or transmitting plate. Till now, Moire interference patterns have been used to confirm scientific theory and to measure the structure of a body or a subject in areas such as physics and medical science. Work has also been done on the Moire interference effects on TV screens said to cause dizziness and eye strain. This study focuses on the new types of textiles by creating the appearance of the Moire phenomena. Contrary to the present usual stationary patterns of textiles, it is a varying pattern according to the different gratings, different angles, piling gratings, and the movements of the human bodies. In the preceding study, we observed Moire fringes formed by overlapping two different or same kinds of gratings such as parallel line gratings, square gratings, conic gratings and semicircular gratings and tried to find a promising possibility of new textiles through the method of clothes design simulation.

  • The present paper considers how to teach mathematical concepts. In particular, we aim to a balanced, unified achievement for three elements of concept loaming such as concept understanding, computation and application through one's mathematical intuition. In order to do this, we classify concepts into three patterns, that is, intuitive concepts, logical concepts and formal concepts. Such classification is based on three kinds of philosophy of mathematics : intuitionism, logicism, fomalism. We provide a concrete, practical investigation with important nine concepts in theory of vectors from the viewpoint of three patterns of concepts. As a consequence, we suggest certain solutions for an effective concept learning in teaching theory of vectors.

  • A horizontal starch gal electrophoresis for enzyme proteins extracted from 3 species of Korean planorbid snails; Gyraulus convexiusculus, Hippeutis cantori and Segmentina hemisphaerula was carried out in order to elucidate their genetic relationships. The results from 12 enzymes employed in three different kinds of buffer systems are summarized as follows:1) Two loci from each enzyme of aldehyde oxidase, esterase, glucose phosphate isomerase. isocitrate dehydrogenase, leucine aminopeptidase, malate dehyogenase, peptidase and xanthine oxidase were detected, and only one locus was observed from each of the following four enzymes: 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase, glyceraldehyde-phosphate dehydrogenase, glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase and glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase.2) Most of loci in 3 species of planorbid snails employed showed homozygous and monomorphic banding patterns and some of them were specifis as genetic markers among different species. However, a few of loci (EST-1. EST-2 and GPI-2)showed polymorphic banding patterns. 3)Hippeutis cantori and Segmentina hemisphaerula were more closely clustered in a dendrogram with the genetic iddentity value of 0.431, and these two species were lineated with Gyraulus convexiusculus as another cluster at the value of 0.294.In summarizing the above results, three species of Korean planorbid snails employed in this study mostly showed monomorphic enzyme protein banding patterns and genetic differences specific among 3 species.

  • This study was attempted to investigate the possibilities of fitness evaluation of virtual model using 3D clothes modeling software. For the purpose, two one-piece dresses were made with two kinds of patterns using Qualoth program, and then each dress was fitted to a real model and a virtual model, and the results were compared and discussed. The result of this study was as follows. First, the fitness evaluation of real model showed a significant difference only at a little difference in figures (1-2.5cm) of the pattern, while any significant difference in appearance was not found in case of a virtual model fitted a dress made out of a pattern with the same difference in figures. Second, items to evaluate a difference in patterns using 3D clothes modeling software were shoulder line, the distance between shoulder points, armhole line, ease of armscye depth, and overall appearance. Because all the items fall under design lines which make up outer lines of a cloth, it can be said that the Qualoth program is good for representing design, rather than exposing a small difference in patterns.
