  • As the recent advancement of military equipment has been accelerated, it is becoming more important to act as an inspection device that verifies the performance of equipment in real time. Most of the inspection equipments were developed on the Windows OS based system. considering development convenience and development period. However, sice the data communication between these models occurs asynchronously, there is a problem that it is difficult to guarantee real-time performance of the window-based inspection equiment. To solve these problems, we use real-time commercial solutions to guarantee the real-time performance of Windows-based inspection equipment. In this paper, we propose a method of designing and implementing the inspection equipment software based on Real-Time implanted Kernel-Multi Processor (RTiK-MP) operating in Windows environment. In addition, real-time performance data accuracy was measured through a high-speed communication tool and interlocking test to verify the performance of the inspection device based on the real-time porting kernel.

  • This study evaluated whether dietary supplementation of tapioca could alleviate the negative effects of palm kernel meal (PKM) on growth performance and meat quality in growing and finishing pigs. In experiment 1, 120 73-dold crossbred growing pigs [$(Yorkshire{\times}Landrace){\times}Duroc$], with an average body weight of $31.7{\pm}4.5kg$, were used in a 3-week trial. In experiment 2, 120 108-d-old crossbred finishing pigs [$(Yorkshire{\times}Landrace){\times}Duroc$], with an average BW of $52.6{\pm}4.2kg$ were used in a 10-week trial. Treatments were: CON, a corn-soybean meal-based diet; PKM, 8% PKM, and TPKM, 8% PKM and 10% tapioca. No difference was observed in growth performance or meat quality among treatments in growing pigs. In finishing pigs, no difference was observed in growth performance or meat quality among CON and TPKM dietary treatments. Finishing pigs fed PKM decreases in final BW and ADG compared with those fed CON. Meat quality was not affected by dietary treatments. In conclusion, dietary supplementation of tapioca alleviated anti-nutritional effect of PKM on growth performance in growing and finishing pigs. Thus, the PKM with tapioca could be an available alternative energy source to reduce the cost of pig diets.

  • Removal of apical ear after silking is a method to increase seed production in corn inbreds. Due to the phenomenon of apical dominance, the subapical ear would develope and produce seeds following the removal of the apical ear. This experiment was conducted to investigate the varietal difference in subapical ear development and seed production. Days to silking of subapical ears were delayed by about 4 days compared to normal apical ears. Cob length and filled ear length of subapical ears across seven inbreds tested were reduced by 21% and 36%, respectively. Those of inbred INV302 decreased less and subapical ear of inbred NC246 were barren, which incicated the varietal defferences. Number of kernel rows, kernels per row, and total kernels per ear also decreased. The mean reduction rates for those characters were 28%, 37%, and 47%, respectively. Weights of ears and kernels were reduced and showed different response among inbred lines. Coefficients of variations for cob and filled ear lengths, number of kernel rows and kernels were greater in subapical ears than in apical ears. Seed production of subapical ears was 40 ~ 80% of apical ears, depending on inbred lines when the apical ear is removed immediately after silking.

  • The climate change impact has facilitated double cropping system on maize production in Korea. The objectives of this study were to investigate the chemical composition changes according to the sowing dates on double cropping in 8 dent type, 2 intermediate type, and 4 semiflint type of Korean maize (Zea mays L.) hybrids and evaluate its antioxidant characteristics. Fourteen maize hybrids were sown on April 5 and July 5 of 2015. The average crude protein contents in dent and semiflint type maize sown on April 5 were higher than those sown on July 5 (p<0.05). There was no significant difference in average of total amino acid contents in all types of maize according to the sowing dates. Major amino acid in maize hybrids were glutamic acid followed by proline, alanine, and aspartic acid, which has no significant difference according to the sowing dates. The average crude fat contents in semiflint and intermediate type maize sown on April 5 were higher than those sown on July 5 (p<0.05). The average composition of saturated fatty acid in dent type maize sown on April 5 was higher than those sown on July 5. However, the average unsaturated fatty acid composition showed the opposite result (p<0.05). Fatty acids were mainly composed of linoleic acid (C18:2) and oleic acid (C18:1) in maize hybrids. The average oleic acid percentage of dent and semiflint type maize sown on April 5 were higher than those sown on July 5, while the average linoleic acid was lower. The average amylose content of all types of maize sown on April 5 was higher than those sown on July 5. On the other hands, the average carotenoid contents had the opposite result (p<0.05). There were no significant differences in total average of polyphenol contents and DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities in all types of maize based on the sowing date. Total polyphenol contents had positive correlation with DPPH (r=0.33, p<0.01) and ABTS (r=0.50, p<0.0001) radical scavenging activities. In conclusion, the kernel composition affects maize quality. These data are useful for maize breeding program and cultivation and food processing industry.

  • The aim of the present study was to investigate the ear and kernel characteristics of colored waxy corn hybrids during ripening according to different sowing dates. Heukjinjuchal and Eolrukchal 1 were sown at April 20 (first cropping) and July 20 (second cropping) in 2011~2012. The accumulated temperature from silking to harvesting was about $590{\sim}610^{\circ}C$. It takes 23~24 days when Heukjinjuchal and Eolrukchal 1 were sown in April 20, but July 20 sowing takes 32~35 days. Ear weight, ear diameter, 100-kernel weight and starch content of colored waxy corn were increased as ears matured (p<0.05). Growth temperature was getting decreased during the ripening stage of second cropping, the rate of ear and kernel development had slowed. Starch granules started to accumulate in the cells around the pericarp, then developed in the cells around the embryo. In the second cropping, starch granules in the kernel of colored waxy corn were less compact than the first cropping. The contents of total anthocyanins, cyanidin-3-glucoside and pelargonidin-3-glucoside were increased according to ripening (p<0.05). These results will be helpful to farmers for double cropping of colored waxy corn cultivation and management.

  • This paper describes the development of a web-based interference verification system in the mold design process. Although several commercial CAD systems furnish interference verification functions, those systems are very expensive and inadequate to perform collaborative works over the Internet. In this paper, an efficient and precision hybrid interference verification algorithm for the web-based interference verification system over the distributed environment has been studied. The proposed system uses lightweight CAD files produced from the optimally transformed CAD data through ACIS kernel and InterOp. Collaborators related to the development of a new product are able to verify the interference verification over the Internet without commercial CAD systems. The system reduces production cost, errors and lead-time to the market. Validity of the developed system is confirmed through case studies.

  • This paper proposes an approach for visualizing research trends using theme maps and extra information. The proposed algorithm includes the following steps. First, text mining is used to construct a vector space of keywords. Second, correspondence analysis is employed to reduce high-dimensionality and to express relationships between documents and keywords. Third, kernel density estimation is applied in order to generate three-dimensional data that can show the concentration of the set of documents. Fourth, a cartographical concept is adapted for visualizing research trends. Finally, relative vitalization information is provided for more accurate research trend analysis. The algorithm of the proposed approach is tested using papers about Traditional Korean Medicine.

  • To date Korean electronic industry has held a position of the first rank both in productions and exports among the nation's industries. However, it is gradually losing its competitive foundation in the world market owing both to the weakening in price competition by least developed among developing countries(LDDC) and to the lack in technological competition with industrially advanced countries. Specifically it is worried about an industrial subordination to industrially advanced countries owing to an evasion of components supply, control of amount of materials, and the evasion of kernel technology transfer etc. As the condition has developed, both the government and the electronic industry in July of this year came to jointly establish a research and development center for electronic components for the purpose of rehabilitating the electronic industry and accordingly strengthen the export industry which has been and continuance to be vital to our nation.
