  • A vibration monitoring is performed on a 1kW class stand alone wind turbine(W/T). When a W/T model is developed, general performance under various wind condition should be verified to introduce the product in the market. Especially, vibration characteristics within operating speed range are very important in the aspect of structural stability as well as generator's electrical efficiency. This paper examines the vibration performance of a home made 1kW W/T Various data of the W/T model are acquired in real time using a remote vibration monitoring system installed in Daekwanryung test site. Vibration stability of the W/T structure is diagnosed based upon the data and the result is used to estimate the applicability of the W/T model.

  • This study provides the method to build the rotor system model using dynamic analysis software. also, it introduces the traditional methods of the rotor system modeling and informs the each merits and demerits. We will make up the flexible system of rotor system model with ADAMS, multi-body dynamics S/W, in order to develop dynamics model and get the response of plant model near to real model through connection the SIMULINK of MATLAB. We will develop the computing dynamics-controling model possible controlled simulation similar to a real model with controlling the plant model.

  • A numerical study based on the three-dimensional thin-layer Navier-Stokes solver is carried out to analyze the flowfield through a single stage transonic compressor. Explicit fout-step Runge-Kutta scheme with spatially variable time step and implicit residual smoothing is used. The governing equations we discretized with explcit finite difference method. Mired-out average method is used at the interface between rotor and stator. And, an artificial dissipation model is used to assure the stability of solution. The results with k-w turbulence model were compared to the results with Baldwin-Lomax model, and physical phenomena of transonic compressor are presented. The two turbulence models give the results that show reasonably good agreements with experimental data.

  • Justeresos loops of melt-spun Nd13Fe77B10 cooled down at remanent state were measured at 4.2 K and 250 K. The hysteresis loops were analysed on the basis of the Stoner-Wohlfarth (S-W) model, the inter-grain exchange coupled single domain (SD) model and micromagnetism. The coercivity higher than that predicted from the S-W model and the striking shift of the thin minor loop along the H-axix observed at the fields of Hmax=4MA/m at 4.2 K indicated new evidences for the inter-grain exchange interaction . The S-W model failed in explaining the high iHc and the shift of the thin minor loop. The exchange coupled SD model was found to explain the experimental results qualitatively without difficulties associated with the S-W model. The micromagnetic calculations using a finite element technique simulated the experimental results fairly well quntitatively.

  • This paper describes a model test and numerical simulation of a 750-kW-semi-submersible platform wind turbine under several wind and wave conditions for validation of the numerical simulation model. The semi-submersible platform was designed to support the 750-kW-wind turbine class and operate at a water depth of 50 m. The model tests were performed to estimate the performance characteristics of the wind turbine system in the wide tank of the University of Ulsan. Motions and loads of the wind turbine system under the wind and wave conditions were measured and analyzed. The NREL-FAST code was used to simulate the wind turbine system, and the results were compared with those of the test model. The results demonstrate that the numerical simulation captures noticeably the fully coupled floating wind turbine dynamic responses. Also, the model shows a good stability and small responses during waves, wind, and operation of the 750-kW-floating offshore wind turbine.

  • Three-dimensional flow through a tubular centrifugal fan with airfoil type blades is analyzed, and the effects of turbulence model and numerical scheme on the results are investigated. Standard $k-{\epsilon}$ model and k - w model are tested as turbulence closures. The numerical schemes for convection terms, i.e., Upwind Differencing Scheme (UDS), Mass Weighted Skewed upstream differencing scheme (MWS), Linear Profile Skewed upstream differencing scheme (LPS), and Modified Linear Profile Skewed upstream differencing scheme (MLPS) are also tested, and the performances of these schemes coupled with two turbulence models are evaluated. The static pressure distributions are compared with experimental data obtained in this work, which shows that the $k-{\epsilon}$ model gives better results than the k-w model.

  • In this paper, we present a 5W1H programming model for IT non-experienced people who are not familiar with computer programming and those who need programming education. Based on this model, we can design a development tool that can be easily programmed by beginners. This development tool is a programming method applying the 5W1H concept and constructs a sentence to satisfy the control condition of 'Who, When, Where, What, and How', which is the sentence element of 5W1H. Therefore, the user can easily develop the target system as if constructing the sentence without learning the programming language of the target system. In this paper, to verify the effectiveness of the 5W1H programming model proposed in this paper, we applied the concept of 5W1H programming to Arduino and developed the development tool and performed the first verification and applied the second verification to the speech recognition smart home development platform.

  • These days a lot of cyber attacks are exploiting the vulnerabilities of S/W. According to the trend of vulnerabilities is announced periodically, security directions are suggested and security controls are updated with this trend. Nevertheless, cyber attacks like hacking during the year 2011 are increased by 81% compared to 2010. About 75% of these cyber attacks are exploiting the vulnerabilities of S/W itself. In this paper, we have suggested a VIR model, which is a spread model of malware infection for measuring economic loss by S/W vulnerability, by applying the SIR model which is a epidemic model. It is applied to estimate economic loss by HWP(Hangul word) S/W vulnerabilities.

  • In this paper, we have compared some radio propagation models in order to verify the performance of W.C.Y LEE propagation model in mountain area. The four propagation models, which are Okumura-Hata, ITU-R P.525, Egli and W.C.Y. LEE, are analyzed by comparing the differences between measured values and propagation loss estimation values. And a correction method for W.C.Y LEE model is suggested to improve the performance of W.C.Y. LEE model with measured data in mountain area. Simulation results show that the estimation error using W.C.Y LEE model is the lowest among four propagation models. Also, the results show that the corrected W.C.Y LEE model with suggested method improves the performance of propagation loss estimation.
