  • The moving trajectory of a golf ball is mainly determined by the angles of the clubface and the trajectory of the club shaft. This paper presents a computer program for analyzing the position and angles of the club while the club moves in a circular motion. For this purpose, a mathematical algorithm was developed and implemented on the experimental data(5 m and 10 m carries) using VC++ and OpenGL. A skilled female golfer(174 cm, 65 kg, 0 handicap) was participated in data collection for the short approach shots. An iron club(Titleist 52 degree, 91.5 cm length, 450 g mass), attached with five reflective markers(12 mm), was used to collect experimental data. However, exact 3D coordinates and angles of the clubface are not directly calculated from measured data. A reverse engineering platform(Minolta Vivid910 hardware and Rapidform software) was thus employed to acquire the scanned data of the clubface. The scanned data and measured data were first aligned by applying appropriate coordinate transformations, and then exact coordinates and angles of clubface could be obtained at each position during circular motion. The program(Club Motion Analysis 1.0) exports the open, heel, loft angles of the club.

  • In recent years, as interest in youth startup has increased, the Korean government has established various policies to support young entrepreneurs and actively implements such policies. Especially, as a way to promote youth startup, the development of startup clubs in universities is being suggested, and the importance of startup clubs is growing day by day. As reflected in these points, the Korean government is increasing its budget every year to support the startup clubs of universities, and actively supports the funds and space required for the startup clubs of universities. Unfortunately, however, despite the growing importance of startup clubs and the active support of the government for the startup clubs, academic attempts to see how effectively the startup clubs are operating are not enough. For this reason, this study analyzes the effect of entrepreneurship of university start-up club members on the effectiveness of start-up club. More specifically, in this study, entrepreneurship of club members is classified as risk-taking propensity, proactiveness, and innovativeness, as emphasized in previous researches. We empirically analyzed the effects of these independent variables on the effectiveness of the start-up clubs, focusing on the moderating effect of club members' diversity. We conducted empirical analyses on 1112 start-up club members from 12 universities located in Jeollanam-do and Jeollabuk-do, and the analysis results are as follows. First, the entrepreneurship of the start-up club members, namely risk taking propensity, proactiveness and innovativeness, all have a positive effect on the effectiveness of the start-up club. These results are consistent with the emphasis of many previous studies. The higher the tendency to take risks, the more inclined to move forward through difficulties, and the higher the tendency to break out of the existing framework and pursue new things, suggesting that the effectiveness of the club is enhanced. Second, as a result of verifying the moderating effect of the club members' diversity, it was found that club members' diversity moderates the relationship between the proactiveness of club members and club effectiveness in the negative (-) direction. In other words, the positive effect of the entrepreneurship of club members on the effectiveness of the start-up club means that the proactiveness is weakened in the case of a club having members from different major backgrounds. The results of this study are expected to provide meaningful theoretical and practical implications by identifying the influencing factors of the start-up club's effectiveness, which has not received much attention so far.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of college sport club participants' ego-resilience on the college adjustment. Research design, data, and methodology: To accomplish the purpose, 360 participants were sampled by means stratified cluster random sampling method. Only 317 questionnaires were statistically processed, while 43 questionnaires were excluded because their respondents failed to complete instrument and judged insincere in filling out questionnaire. To analyze the data collected, statistical techniques, such as descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, independent-sample t-test, and one-way ANOVA, multiple regression analysis were used, and as for difference verification between individual groups in relation to significant results, Duncan's multiple range was conducted. Results: The following results have been drawn out via hypothesis test. First. the background variable of the college sport club participants of was proved to affect the degree of their ego-resilience on the college adjustment. Specifically, their period of participation, frequency of participation and expenses made a statistically meaningful. Second, the college sport club participants of ego-resilience were proved to affect the college adjustment. Academic adjustment, social adjustment, personal-emotional adjustment and institutional attachment made a statistically meaning-full difference. Conclusions: The findings indicate the function of sport club participants' ego-resilience in assisting their adjustment.

  • The Breakfast Club of the Seoul Metropolitan Government aims to provide breakfast and nutrition education to students who require need breakfast. This study was conducted to explore the experience of changes at the individual and environmental levels among high-school participants of the Breakfast Club. The qualitative data were collected from 20 high school students (10 boys and 10 girls) via a focus group interview at each school. Experienced improvement and suggested future tasks from the experience of the Breakfast Club were categorized at three levels (themes): personal factors, school environmental factors, and home environmental factors. The health belief, knowledege, awareness, and perception of effects of the participants showed improvement but the personal barriers need to be improved. At the school level, peer influence and school food policies were improved but some aspects of availability and accessibility for breakfast, and social norms need to be improved. The factors related to the home environment, such as family influence, and availability and accessibility for breakfast were better after the program. The Breakfast Club changed not only personal behaviors but also the family and school environments.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify STEAM education program fit for club activities in consideration of the present curriculum and investigate its effect on science club students' self-efficacy and attitude toward science by applying it to science club students. In consideration of such chapters as 'Solar System' and 'Exosphere and Space Development' in the 2009 Revised Curriculum, this study developed a STEAM education program related to the observation of the solar system and the measurement of a distance of the stars in consideration of the present curriculum. For this study we selected 14 science club students in H Middle School, located in G Province and applied a 7 weeks' program to them. To find out change in their self-efficacy and attitude toward science, this study conducted tests of self-efficacy and attitude toward science for a single group before and after introducing this program and analyzed the results. The results of this study could be summarized as below. Firstly, science club activities with this STEAM education program applied improved students' self-efficacy significantly. Secondly, there was a significant difference found in students' attitude toward science through science club activities with this STEAM education program applied as they showed higher scores in the attitude toward science in the posttest than the pretest. Lastly, despite a research limit that this science inquiry program was conducted for a short period of time, this program was found to have positive effect on the improvement of students' self-efficacy and attitude toward science.

  • This is a case study on the counterplan for reducing agricultural environmental pollution in the SANHYUN Livestock Club through participatory research from March, 1993 to June, 1995. In the monthly meetings, the active discussion about agricultural environmental pollution gradually increased with the village people, Club members and other people because of a consciousness-raising created through discussion activities. In addition, the Club members have established a septic tank and accumulation store-house after active participation in such discussions about the environmental pollution. After two years, the number of septic tanks and accumulation store-houses has increased from two to 10. Gradually all village people are becoming more aware of village environmental pollution. Four non-member farmers have constructed a septic tanks and several member farmers have constructed the fermentation system of sawdust and hulls.

  • The curriculum of science should be made of the education based on the acquirement instead of the knowledge. However, the present educational environment has many problems such as lack of laboratory and experimental facilities, and time limitations. One of the suggested methods to overcome the barriers in regular curriculum is the efficient operation of science club activities. Since the club activities are not restricted on time and space, teachers can apply various methods and programs. In this paper, we investigate the present operational status of science club activities in secondary school and some suggested improvement schemes of them It is shown that teacher training, reference development, time allocation, educational environment, facility completion and various program developments should be preceded, in order to activate science club activities.
