This study was conducted with the aim of confirming the relevance and effect of the characteristics of the cities and cities in the neighborhood area, focusing on the sale price per square meter of apartment. Specifically, it was intended to determine whether cities in the relevant city and neighborhood area have differential characteristics between the metropolitan area and the non-metropolitan area, whether industrial characteristics, urban planning and development project characteristics, and location characteristics. Comparing the research results of the city and metropolitan area, it was found that there was a correlation in all areas of population characteristics. Industrial and urban planning projects and development project characteristics sectors are not significant in the city, but they appear significant when analyzed in the urban area of the year. When classifying and analyzing the metropolitan area and the non-metropolitan area, both the metropolitan area and the non-metropolitan area were significant in the population sector, and only the distance from Gangnam-gu was significant in the local sector. Since the population is concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area now, the sale price per square meter of apartments is also concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area, which is believed to result in such a result. This is judged to be an analysis that appears because the characteristics of the developable status of the metropolitan area and the non-metropolitan area are different. Accordingly, this study shows that the characteristics of neighboring areas as well as the city should be analyzed when analyzing the factors affecting the sale price per square meter of apartment, and suggests that housing market monitoring needs to be carried out together.

In general, Area studies have very flexible field of research, so it is very difficult to proceed all field of research at the same time. Due to this, researches on Area studies have been changed the field of research and research trends according to age. So it is important to identify research trends for performing Area studies. Also, interests for understanding the research trend of Area studies are increasing constantly. In this paper, we analyze research trends of Mediterranean Area studies in Korea by using co-appearance keywords. To do this, we first analyze article types and extract co-appearance keywords on articles of 『Journal of Mediterranean Area Studies』, which is the representative journal of Mediterranean region in Korea. In details, trends analysis of Mediterranean Area studies would be performed by using cp-keywords of article and visualizing network graph forms.

The reservoir is one of the important partsof facilities for development of irrigation water in Korea. Accordingly, construction of the reservoir will be stressed in the field of future development of agricultural water resources. In the meantime, storage capacity is actually is limited to some extent with various conditions. Acreage of benefited area shall be determined according to such conditions as catchment area, precipitation and unit water requirment within benefited area. According to results of the past construction of the reservoir, the ratio of catchment area to benefited area would be 4:1 to 2.5:1 or catchment area is approximately 2.5 times larger and over than benefited area. In order words, it is the ordinary practice in the construction of reservoir that benefited area should be less than 1/2.5 times as large as catchment area. Moreover, limitation of catchment area would prevent largely the vast drought-stricken area from being benefited by irrigation facilites. This has been, in fact, caused by the fact that a good deal of water stored in the reservoir overflows wastefully through spillway of the reservoir at th time of flood season, and that only very little of the overflowed water is available for irrigation. However, if the more wasted water is stored during the flood season, the larger area of farmland can irrigated. That is, catchment area can reduced to less than 2.5 times as large as benefited area. On the other hand, it is afraid that such reduction should bring about the increase of unit storage capacity. And storage capacity being maximized, costs for construction of the reservoir will be raised too highly, thus making the economics feasibility unfavorable. The purpose of this study is to decide the ratio of catchment area to benefited area toward the minimum level as possible in consideration of the hydrological and economic aspects. Kopung Project which is located in Sosan-kun, Chungnam Province is taken as an example for the review and analysis in this study, and as an example for crop, rice is taken. After consideration of this project, we can find out that annual average inflow is 726mm and annual average water requirements is 811mm. And the ratio of catchment area to benefited area is 1.2:1. This means that catchment area can be reduced even to 1.2 times as large as benefited area. In conclusion, this study reveals that the construction of reservoir is feasible in view of economic and technical points provided that catchment area is more than 1.5 times as large as benefited area.
This study aims to examine the distinctions in evaluation index items between overseas and domestic ecological area-related systems, derive analytical indicators, and assess recently completed apartment complexes before and after the implementation of overall ecological area ratios. The objective is to analyse variances in the application of ecological area characteristics, categorizing them into ecological area analysis indicators and presenting their implications. The spatial scope covers completed apartment complexes in both metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas. Thirty-six completed apartment complexes were selected for analysis, and basic ecological area data were compiled. Subsequently, the data was utilized to categorize three analysis indicators-ecological area ratio, ecological area diversity, and ecological area connectivity-by metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas, as well as by type of apartment complex (sale housing versus rental housing) and size (large-scale, medium-scale, and small-scale). Results of the analysis indicate higher ecological area ratios and greater diversity in ecological area spatial types in metropolitan areas compared to non-metropolitan areas, and in pre-sale housing complexes compared to rental housing complexes. Mediumand large-scale apartment complexes exhibit higher ecological area ratios, with ecological area diversity being more pronounced. Ecological area connectivity reveals more numerous and varied connection points and types in metropolitan areas than in non-metropolitan areas. Implications of this study suggest that large-scale development should prioritize securing ecological area ratios and diversity in apartment complexes. Enhancing biodiversity necessitates establishing connections within and beyond the ecological area network of the complex. Future research should focus on linking the ecological area network within the complex.
The 'pathways' in the Deteriorated Residential Area is the valuable place which represents the history of the community. The 'pathways' is the physical boundary which connects individual environment of private residential area to public environment and which has value as a medium for the definite site for regeneration of Deteriorated Residential Area. Thus, the 'pathways' is considered as the perfect material for the public design for spatial culture to regenerate the Deteriorated Residential Area. However, the most of the public design projects utilize the 'pathways' fragmentarily, there are few systematic studies based on the attribute of the Deteriorated Residential Area. The purpose of this study is the consideration on the attributes of the 'pathways', the detection of the spatial characteristics to find application of the 'pathways', and the cultivation of the baseline data for further research for the spatial nature of the Deteriorated Residential Area. For this study, theoretical consideration is practiced in advance to analyze the meaning of the 'pathways' and Deteriorated Residential Area, the case research is performed using design elements as the analytic frame, and the approach is inferred for systematic public design based on the above result. The objects of case research were chosen among the latest projects implemented in the Deteriorated Residential Area whose subject was 'pathways' and which showed successful result. The characteristics of them were investigated and the details were examined through the homepages of the projects, the reports related to the projects, research material, and interview with the people involved. And to conclude, 'pathways' represents the composition of contents, the space of movement, the formation of community, the landscape design, and the participatory design in the Deteriorated Residential Area. The 'pathways' also finds the proper secondary cultural material for the spatial characteristics and can create the space for the various movements, stay, and communication using the characteristics of movements. The narrow and closed space should be utilized actively to be altered into beautiful space and the Deteriorated Residential Area should be regenerated into coexistent design where people share their lives through sharing spaces.

Nowadays, urbanized area expands its boundary, and distribution of urbanized area is gradually transformed into more complicated pattern. In Korea, SMA(Seoul Metropolitan Area) has outstanding urbanized area since 1960. But it is ambiguous whether urban distribution is clustered or dispersed. That is to say, it is difficult to understand spatial distribution pattern of urbanized area, although urbanized area has grown gradually. This study aims to show the way in which expansions of urbanized area impact on spatial distribution pattern of urbanized area. We use GIS analysis based on raster dataset, quadrat analysis, and nearest neighbor analysis to know distribution pattern of urbanized area in time-series urban growth. Experiments show that cohesion of SMA's urbanized area had increased to the early 1980s, but has decreased from the middle 1980s. Also, urban growth of SMA has been characterized not by spillover growth but by leapfrogging growth and road-influenced growth since the middle 1980s.
This research deals with meanings and issues of 'broadcasting area' in which trans-regional broadcasting media such as satellite broadcasting and webcasting provoked. The issues around broadcasting area have raised the examination of fundamental broadcasting philosophy in Korea, i.e. establishment of broadcasting area intends to foster new media development? or protect local culture and local journalism? After assessing current criticisms around the broadcasting area, this study particularly addresses re-transmission outside the broadcasting area, satellite broadcaster's re-transmission of terrestrial channels, and widening of broadcasting area. This research argues that broadcasting area has lost its raison-etre due to the advent of new communication technology, even though it was maintained to protect regional broadcasting stations. Therefore it argues that now is the right time to change the broadcasting area in the digital media era. This approach could strengthen the competitiveness of regional broadcasting stations and solve the rows surrounding broadcasting areas.
What this research aims are as follows. First, it aims to examine the difference in gender ratio of single men and women in the entire nation and Gyeongbuk area, and also the ratio of single men in marriageable age in Gyeongbuk area by si, gun, dong, eub, and myeon, Second, the social-economical characteristics of single men in marriageable age in Gyeongbuk area, and third, the causes of problems related to marriage for single men and the solutions. As a result, it was revealed that imbalance of current gender ratio in farming area, farm villages falling behind socially and economically, young women evading marriage with young men in farming area, and difficulty of making a girlfriend, all served as the factors that made it difficult for single men to get married. It is impossible to overcome these factors by individual efforts made by single men in farming area. Therefore, these problems would be resolved by taking such measures as construction of social infrastructure in farming area in Gyeongbuk area, enhancement of status of women in farming area, and enhancement of awareness for men in farming area.

Green space infrastructures for three cities, Gwacheon, Uiwang, and Hanam, were analyzed in terms of the area of urban parks per capita, the percentage of green space area, the area of green space per capita, and the percentage of vegetation cover in residential area, etc., which are commonly used as criteria for urban green space planning. The differences in green space infrastructure among these three cities were compared to the satisfaction level of residents for their green space. The area of parks per capita corresponded to the satisfaction level when Seoul Great Park in Gwacheon and Misa Park in Hanam were not included. Although these two huge parks accounted more than 90% of the area of urban parks in Gwacheon and Hanam, they serve more people from outside the cities and not likely visited by residents due to lacking of daily accessibility. The percentage of vegetation cover in residential area were considered to affect the satisfaction of residents for green space, whereas the total area of green space or the percentage of green space area in the cities was not related to the satisfaction level. It suggests that the distributions and accessibilities of green space and park service are more important for satisfaction than total green space area indicating urban sustainability.
The seawater in the Taean area was surveyed to evaluate the conditions of the bay and compliance with the bacteriological criteria for a designated area for shellfish production for export. Samples of seawater were collected monthly at 34 sampling stations established in the survey area from January 2002 to December 2004. The bacterial density in the coastal area close to a pollution source located to the northeast of the survey area was higher than in the open sea to the west. The bacteriological counts in the water did not change with 16.5mm of rainfall, but increased abruptly after 65.4mm of rainfall. The total coliform and fecal coliform most probable numbers (MPNs) of 1,224 seawater samples in the survey area were <1.8-2,400 and <1.8-790 MPN/100 mL, respectively. The geometric mean and estimated 90th percentile of total coliforms were 1.9-3.4 and 2.7-26.3 MPN/100mL, respectively, and for fecal coliforms were <1.8-2.6 and 1.8-12.0 MPN/100mL, respectively. The bacteriological water quality in the Taean seawater area met the National Shellfish Sanitation Program criteria for an approved area and the Korea Shellfish Sanitation Program criteria for a designated area for shellfish production for export.
