  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of eyeshadow color (brown, purple, and blue), lipstick color (red, orange, and purple), and lipstick tone(vivid, light, dull, and dark) on the makeup image. The experimental materials used for this study were sets of stimulus and response scales (7 point semantic). The stimuli were 36 color pictures manipulated with the combination of eyeshadow color, lipstick color, and lipstick tone using computer simulation. The subjects were 216 female undergraduates living in Jinju city. The data was analyzed by using SPSS program. Analyzing methods were ANOVA and Duncan test. The result of this study are as follows. Image factor of the stimulus was composed of 4 different components (attractiveness and gracefulness, visibility, cuteness, and softness), Among them, the attractiveness and gracefulness and the visibility were important. Each dimensional image was affected by color coordination of eyeshadow color, lipstick color and lipstick tone. Therefore, the face image through matching eyeshadow and lipstick could be varied by the eyeshadow color, lipstick color and tones.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTSs), self-management and quality of life (QOL) in middle aged men and to investigate how these factors are correlated with one another. Methods: The participants in this study were 217 men in G City. Data were collected using a questionnaire from October 23 to November 11, 2009. LUTSs were measured by IPSS, self-management by a self-management Likert scale, and QOL by the Korean-version WHOQOL-BREF. The collected data were analyzed through chi-square test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: LUTS categories divided according to severity were none (10%), mild (57%), moderate (28%), and severe (5%). The mean score of self-management was 3.14 and that of QOL was 3.27. Self-management and QOL were significantly different according to LUTS. LUTS was negatively correlated with self-management and QOL. Self-management was positively correlated with QOL. Conclusion: In order to develop nursing interventions for middle aged men, comprehensive understanding of LUTS is needed.

  • Purpose: This study was done to assess the home nursing and quality of life of parents caring for preschool children with atopic dermatitis and to identify the factors which influence quality of life. Methods: Participants in the study were 149 parents of preschool children with atopic dermatitis attending a kindergarten and a nursery school in S city. Parent completed a set of questionnaires (assessing demographic factors, home nursing, quality of life). Descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Results: The mean score for home nursing was $3.06{\pm}0.38$ and for quality of life, $4.18{\pm}0.74$. The lowest scored question in the 13 question on quality of life was that of frustration related to itching sensation. Significant factors that affect quality of life were severity and home care. These variables explained 21% of variance in quality of life (F=21.17, p<.001). Conclusion: The results indicate that severity of childhood atopic dermatitis and home nursing impact on the quality of life of parents. Using the above findings, health professionals who work with children with atopic dermatitis and their parents need to develop specific nursing interventions that will promote health of children with atopic dermatitis and quality of life in their parents.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of four clothing cues(hue, tone, skirt width, and skirt length of dress) on female impressions. The experimental materials developed for this study are a set of stimuli and response scales. The Stimuli are 40 color pictures manipulated with four clothing cues by drawing. The 7-point scale designed for visual evaluation of female impression formation includes 29 bipolar adjectives. The subjects were 240 undergraduate female students in Jinju city. The results of this study are as follow: As analyzing the impression of the female figure by the hue, tone, skirt width, and length, five factors including ability activity, elegance, attractiveness, concentration of attention, and tenderness were identified. Among these factors, ability activity and elegance were proved to be more important. Each impression of hue and tone with skirt width length have significant effects on concentration of attention, and tenderness. We can express various impressions by diversifying hue and tone. Each impression of skirt width length with hue and tone have significant effects on ability activity and elegance.

Methods : The study subjects were 260 students in the department of dental hygiene in J city health college. A self-reported questionnaire was conducted from May 1st to 31st 2013. A frequency analysis and x2-test was carried out to confirm the general characteristics of the 260 respondents. Results : The perception rate of the CPR was 55.8%(145 persons). There were positive correlations between perception and attitude of CPR (r=.202) and attitude and knowledge(r=.249). Conclusions : CPR performance is the vital to the cardiac arrest victim. So it is necessary to educate the dental hygiene students in case of emergency situation. It is necessary to educate CPR and basic life support (BLS) in dental hygiene students.

  • Climate change has increased the number of floods and inundation on farmland. Recently various mobile applications through inundation mapping, flood forecasts and evacuation routes have been developed for the prevention and reduction of flood damages. However, most of current prevention systems for farmland flooding are still web-based systems relying on the field survey which needs a lot of human and time resources although mobile devices has been rapidly improved and widely used. The purpose of this study is to design a mobile application for preventing and reducing farmland flood and inundation damages and collecting damage information in real time. We put advanced mobile device functions such as GPS, network communications, cameras into our system design. This system implement 2way communication and intuitive application that will increase information efficiency and decrease flood damage. Our design has been tested through previous flooding data of Jinju city in 2010.

  • Purpose: This study was done to investigate the effects of acupressure on pruritus and sleep among patients undergoing hemodialysis. Methods: The study design was a nonequivalent control group repeat measures quasiexperimental study. Data were collected from June to September 2015 in the kidney center at a hospital located in B city. Participants were 42 patients; 20 in the experimental group and 22 in the control group. For the experimental group, acupressure on the spots of Sameumgyo (SP6), Zoksamli (ST36), Hyolhae (SP10), and Gokji (LI11) was provided at the time of hemodialysis three times a week for 12 weeks. The numeric rating scale (NRS) was used to measure pruritus, and sleep was measured with the sleep scale developed by Jinju Oh et al. Results: There was a significant decrease in pruritus (F=7.80, p=.008) and increase in sleep (F=80.90, p<.001) in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: The findings confirmed in the study show that acupressure is an effective nursing intervention to decrease pruritus felt by patients on hemodialysis and to increase the quality of their sleep.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine relationships between perceived exercise benefits/barriers, competence, depression, and wellness, and then to identify influencing factors on the wellness of traditional market traders. Methods: One hundred eight persons working in a traditional market participated in the study of questionnaire. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression. Results: The scores were 2.82±0.66 for "perceived exercise benefits", 1.84±0.42 for "perceived exercise barriers", 4.68±1.56 for "competence", 9.60±7.56 for "depression", and 3.64±0.64 for "wellness". Regression analysis to identify factors affecting the wellness of traditional market traders showed that "perceived exercise benefits" was the most significant factor (β=.32, p<.001), followed by "competence" (β=.04, p=.009) and "depression" (β=.17, p=.039). The explanatory power of these variables for wellness of traditional market traders was 53%. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that perceived exercise benefits, competence and depression are significantly related to traditional market trader's wellness. Therefore, wellness programs should be developed to reduce depression and improve perceived exercise benefits and competence.
