미나리를 이용한 계면활성성분 및 합성세제 제거에 관한 연구 (The Removal of Surfactants and Commercial Detergents by Oenanthe javanica)

  • The purpose of thesis was to investigate the removal efficiency of surfactants and commercial detergents by Oenanthe javanica that is one of aquatic plants in Korea. The experiment is concerned with measuring the concentrations of surfactants and commercial detergents in different media: 1) in pure water, 2) in water containing Oenanthe javanica, 3) in water containing Oenanthe javanica and commercial nutrients. The surfactants used in this research include linear alkylbenzene sulfonates (LAS), $\alpha$-sulfo fatty acid methyl esters(MES), and alkylbenzene sulfonates(ABS). Two commercial detergents designated as A and B were in the forms of power and liquid. The results showed that LAS and MES were more effectively removed by Oenanthe javanica probably because these have a chain of linear carbon than on ABS with a branched carbon structure. In the case of commercial detergents, when the except was performed on the basis of surfactants proportion, the removal trends were similar to LAS and MES. The 5-day cultivating test with initial concentration of 0.5-1.0 ppm surfactants showed that less than 10% was removed if no nutrients an Oenanthe javanica were added. When Oenanthe javanica was added into the sample solution containing surfactants, the removal efficiency was increased 100% for the solution containing 0.5-1.0 ppm 60-70% for 5-10 ppm. In addition, chlorisis on Oenanthe javanica was observed due to surfactants and commercial detergents for all three cases. To test the dependence of population density on nutrients, the initial population density was made 300 g/0.4 m$^2$. Throughout the 5-day experiment, the on Oenanthe javanica grew 20-25% with 0.5-1.0 ppm without the synthetic nutrients but by 5% with a high concentrations of 5-10 ppm. The population density was appeared to be independent of synthetic nutrients. The leaves were to be grown with synthetic nutrients, while roots were grown without synthetic nutrients. Based on this research, the fundamental data concerning cultivation and an adequate adjustment of the water condition can provide for the utilization of Oenanthe javanica in real water treatment system.

친환경 농자재와 곤충병원성 곰팡이 Isaria javanica의 처리 간격이 담배가루이(Bemisia tabaci) 방제에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Pre-treated Eco-friendly Agricultural Materials on Control Efficacy of Isaria javanica Isolate against Sweet Potato Whitefly (Bemisia tabaci))

  • 작물의 재배 과정 중에 발생하는 해충을 효과적으로 방제하기 위하여 친환경 유기농자재, 미생물 살충제, 화학 살충제와 같은 다양한 방제제가 사용되고 있다. 이들은 다양한 해충과 병을 방제하기 위해 동일한 포장에서 동시에 또는 순차적으로 이용된다. 이 방제제들은 서로 영향을 미쳐 방제 효과도 달라질 수 있다. 따라서 미생물 살충제와 동시에 또는 동일 포장에 처리될 수 있는 다른 농자재의 혼용가능 여부를 조사할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 시설하우스에서 가루이류 방제를 위해 등록된 친환경 유기농자재의 전처리가 담배가루이 방제를 위해 개발된 Isaria javanica 균주의 포자 발아, 균사 성장 그리고 방제효율에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 담배가루이 방제용으로 국내에서 개발된 I. javanica 균주는 4종(A, 파라핀오일+계피오일; B, 대두유; C, 님추출물+참깨오일; D, 채종유)의 가루이류 방제용 친환경 살충제 중 A 살충제에 의해 포자 발아($8.9{\pm}1.3%{\sim}24.5{\pm}0.9%$) 및 균사 성장($0.81{\pm}0.01cm{\sim}0cm$)이 감소되었다. 담배가루이 방제에서 친환경 유기농자재와 I. javanica 사이의 처리 간격이 미치는 효과 조사를 위해, 친환경 유기농자재 4종을 I. javanica 균주 처리 0, 1, 4, 7일 전 처리하고 방제 효과를 조사하였다. 친환경 유기농자재 전처리는 4종 모두 I. javanica의 담배가루이 방제효과를 감소시켰다. 따라서 국내에 등록된 가루이류 방제용 친환경 유기농자재 4종과 개발된 곰팡이 살충제 I. javanica를 동시에 또는 순차적으로 이용할 경우, 상호영향을 고려하여 7일 이상의 간격을 두고 살포하는 것이 효과적으로 담배가루이를 방제 할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Tobacco Growth Promotion by the Entomopathogenic Fungus, Isaria javanica pf185

  • Isaria javanica pf185 is an important entomopathogenic fungus with potential for use as an agricultural biocontrol agent. However, the effect of I. javanica pf185 on plant growth is unknown. Enhanced tobacco growth was observed when tobacco roots were exposed to spores, cultures, and fungal cell-free culture supernatants of this fungus. Tobacco seedlings were also exposed to the volatiles of I. javanica pf185 in vitro using I-plates in which the plant and fungus were growing in separate compartments connected only by air space. The length and weight of seedlings, content of leaf chlorophyll, and number of root branches were significantly increased by the fungal volatiles. Heptane, 3-hexanone, 2,4-dimethylhexane, and 2-nonanone were detected, by solid-phase micro-extraction and gas chromatography-mass spectrophotometry, as the key volatile compounds produced by I. javanica pf185. These findings illustrate that I. javanica pf185 can be used to promote plant growth, and also as a biocontrol agent of insect and plant diseases. Further studies are necessary to elucidate the mechanisms by which I. javanica pf185 promotes plant growth.

미나리 즙이 과산화 지질과 알코올을 투여한 흰쥐의 체지질 구성, 간장기능 및 항산화능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Oenanthe javanica Sap on Lipid Composition, Liver Function and Oxidative Capacity in Oxidized Fat and Ethanol Fed Rats)

  • 미나리즙이 과산화지질과 알코올을 급여한 흰쥐의 지질구성, 간장기능과 항산화능에 미치는 영향을 검토했다. 혈장 총콜레스테롤량은 과산화지질과 알코올을 급여한 처리군 모두가 정상군보다 증가하였다. 그러나 미나리즙 처리군들은 대조군보다 낮았다. 혈장HDL-cholesterol량은 미나리즙 처리군들이 대조군에 비하여 높은 값을 나타냈으며, 정상군과 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 혈장 Triglyceride량은 과산화지질과 알코올을 급여한 처리군 모두가 정상군 보다 증가하였으나, 미나리즙을 처리한 군이 대조군 보다 낮은 값을 보여, 하락하는 경향을 보였다. 간장의 총콜레스테롤량 및 Triglceride량은 대조군이 가장 높은 값을 나타내었으며, 정상군과 미나리즙 처리군간에는 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 혈장 및 간장의 TBARS량은 정상군과 미나리즙 처리군은 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않았으며, 대조군 보다 낮은 수치를 보였다. 혈장 GOT 및 GPT의 활성치는 과산화지질과 알코올의 급여에 의해 증가하였으나, 미나리즙 처리에 의해 하락했다(P<0.05). 간장 GSH-Px, SOD 및 CAT활성치는 미나리즙 처리에 의해 증가하였다.

비탈면에 파종된 붉나무(Rhus javanica) 개체군의 생육 및 공간분포 특성 - 용인 대지산 사례지역을 중심으로 - (Growth and Spatial Distribution Characteristics of Rhus javanica Populations Sowed on Cut-Slopes - Focusing on the Dae-Ji Mountain Case Study -)

  • This study was to evaluate the growth and spatial distribution characteristics of Rhus javanica population. The study was conducted between 2015 January and July at the cut-slope revegetation site in Dae-Ji Mountain. Seeds of native species were sowed on the disturbed cut-slope in 2002. There were 119 vascular plant species 55 families and 94 genera on the cut-slope. Compositae, Rosaceae, and Leguminosae plants were dominant species, which are pioneer species in dry and barren site. Canopy of trees covered 44.1% total area, which was 8.3% increase from 2008. Rhus javanica, main species, dominated all DBH classes except DBH >24cm. Albizzia julibrissin showed high frequency in the 6~17cm DBH class and Salix koreensis was abundant at >12cm. Elaeagnus umbellata, Corylus heterophylla var. heterophylla, Alnus sibirica, and Acer pictum were not observed. Rhus javanica population was the most frequently observed on the south facing cut-slope. The average DBH of Rhus javanica was $7.3({\pm}3.7)cm$ and the average height of them was $5.2({\pm}1.7)m$. Annual average DBH growth was 7.9mm/yr and the maximum growth(12.0mm/yr) was the $3^{rd}$ year. It decreased after $6^{th}$ years. Although Rhus javanica population in the Dae-Ji Mountain was a seed originated plantation, the forest had reverse J shape diameter frequency distribution. It indicated that the forest is uneven-aged forest. The Rhus javanica population was expected to sustain.

In vitro Inhibitory Activities of Essential Oils from Oenanthe javanica DC against Candida and Streptococcus species

  • The composition of essential oil from O. javanica was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Using the broth dilution method and disk diffusion test, anti-microbial activities of the oil fraction and its main components were evaluated against various antibiotic-susceptible and resistant strains of pathogenic microorganisms. As a result of GC-MS analysis, 57 compounds, including ${\alpha}-terpinolene$ (28.1%), dl-limonene (16.0%), ${\gamma}-terpinene$ (10.3%), ${\beta}-pinene$ (9.7%) and ${\alpha}-pinene$ (6.0%) were identified in the essential oil fraction. The essential oil fraction of O. javanica and its main components exhibited significant inhibitory activities, particularly against Candida albicans (antibiotic-susceptible strains) and Streptococcus pneumoniae (antibiotic- susceptible and resistant strains). The main components of the O. javanica oil fraction displayed different patterns of activity against the three tested Candida species as exemplified by the differential minimum inhibiting concentration (MIC) values. The disk diffusion test showed that the activities were dose dependent.

Evaluation of Antidiarrhoeal Activity of Aerva species

  • The genus Aerva is distributed is temperate and stropical Asia and Africa. Aerva species, Aerva lanata and Aerva javanica have been used for antidiarrhoeal activity in Indian traditional medicine. A.lanata and A.javanica were screened separately for their. anti-diarrhoeal activity and their action on intestinal transit on their vacuum dried ethanolic and aqueous extracts at the dose of 800 mg/kg by standard methods. All the extracts showed significant antidairrhoeal activity and significantly reduced intestinal transit in charcoal meal test. The results illustrate that the ethanolic and aqueous extracts of A.lanata and the ethanolic and aqueous extracts of A.javanica have significant antidiarrhoeal activity and the activity may be attributed to its effect on intestinal transit. The present study supports the claim of Aerva lanata and Aerva javanica as antidiarrhoeal drugs in the Indian system of medicine.

미나리 지상부에서 라디칼 소거 활성을 가지는 페놀성 화합물의 분리 (Antioxidant Activity and Phytochemical Study on the Aerial Parts of Oenanthe javanica)

  • Five compounds were isolated from the methanol extract of the aerial parts of Oenanthe javanica(Umbelliferae). Their chemical structures were identified as isorhamnetin(1), uracil(2), adenosine(3), persicarin(4) and uridine(5) by comparison of their spectral data with those of authentic samples and compounds 2, 3 and 5 were isolated from Oenanthe javanica for the first time. Compound 1 showed the strong radical scavenging activity among the compounds isolated from Oenanthe javanica.

Hematopoiesis Activity of Sambucus javanica on Chloramphenicol-induced Aplastic Anemia Mouse Model

  • Hematopoiesis has a pivotal role in the maintenance of body homeostasis. Ironically, several hematological disorder caused by chemicals, drugs, and other environmental factors lead to severe bone marrow failure. Current treatments like stem cell transplantation and immunosuppression remain ineffective to ameliorate this diseases. Therefore, a newtreatment to overcome this entity is necessary, one of them by promoting the usage of medicinal plants. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the hematopoiesis potency of S. javanica berries and leaves extracts in chloramphenicol (CMP)-induced aplastic anemia mice model. In this present study, several types of blood progenitor cell such as $TER-119^+VLA-4^+$ erythrocytes lineage, $Gr-1^+$ granulocytes, and $B220^+$ B-cell progenitor cells were evaluated by flow cytometry analysis. Accordingly, we revealed that S. javanica berries and leaves extracts significantly promoted $TER-119^+VLA-4^+$ erythrocytes lineage and $Gr-1^+$ granulocytes after exposed by CMP. Thus, these results suggested that S. javanica berries and leaves extracts might have hematopoiesis activity in CMP-induced aplastic anemia mice model.

Lactobacillus spp. 이용 발효 붉나무의 기능성물질 검색에 대한 연구 (Functionality Analysis of Rhus javanica Fermented by Lactobacillus spp.)

  • 본 연구에서는 한약재를 Lactobacillus속 균주로 발효시켜 기능성물질을 확인하고자 하였다. 선행연구를 통해 선별한 발효에 사용한 10가지 한약은 100% methanol로 추출하여 Lactobacillus속 균주와 MRS배지를 첨가하여 사용하였고 발효 후 ethyl acetate로 추출하여 사용하였다. 10가지 중 붉나무를 Lb. brevis KCTC 3498로 발효하고 ethyl acetate로 추출한 추출물에서 마우스 해마 유래 세포주인 HT22 세포에서 glutamate로 유발된 산화적 손상으로부터 세포 보호효과가 우수했으며, 이는 heme oxygenase-1 단백질 발현에 의한 것 임을 밝혔다. 또한, 뇌세포 보호에 heme oxygenase-1 발현의 주요 기전인 Nrf2 핵 내의 전사와 직접적인 연관이 있음을 확인하였다. 붉나무의 발효 전과 후의 항균, 항산화 효과 비교 실험에서는 붉나무를 Lb. plantarum subsp. plantarum KCTC 3108, Lb. fermentum KCTC 3112, Lb. brevis KCTC 3498 균주로 각각 발효한 한약재는 발효 전보다 항산화 활성이 높아지거나 비슷한 수준으로 나타났다. Lb. plantarum subsp. plantarum KCTC 3108, Lb. casei KCTC 3109로 발효한 붉나무 발효액과 ethyl acetate 여액층은 Bacillus subtilis PCI 219, Escherichia coli KCTC 1682, Shigella flexneri KCTC 2517, Vibrio parahaemolyticus KCTC 7471, Pseudomonas aeruginosa KCTC 2004에 모두 항균활성을 보였다. 붉나무를 Lb. brevis KCTC 3498로 발효하여 ethyl acetate로 추출한 추출물은 B. subtilis PCI 219, E. coli KCTC 1682, S. flexneri KCTC 2517, V. parahaemolyticus KCTC 7471 균주에서 발효한 추출물이 단순 붉나무 추출물보다 높은 항균활성을 보였다.
