  • In this paper, we prove a strong convergence theorem for a common fixed point of two relatively nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space by using the modified Ishikawa iteration method. Our results improved and extend the corresponding results announced by many others.

  • In the presented paper, the first section contains strong convergence and demiclosedness property of a sequence generated by Karakaya et al. iteration scheme in a Hilbert space for quasi-nonexpansive mappings and also the comparison between the iteration scheme given by Karakaya et al. with well-known iteration schemes for the convergence rate. The second section contains some applications of the fixed point theory in solution of different mathematical problems.

  • In an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space, the normal Mann iteration has only weak convergence, in general, even for nonexpansive mappings. The purpose of this paper is to modify the normal Mann iteration to have strong convergence for a closed quasi-$\phi$-nonexpansive mapping in the framework of Banach spaces.

  • In this paper, we prove strong convergence theorems of Halpern iteration for relatively asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in the framework of Banach spaces. Our results extend and improve the recent ones announced by [C. Martinez-Yanes, H. K. Xu, Strong convergence of the CQ method for fixed point iteration processes, Nonlinear Anal. 64 (2006), 2400-2411], [X. Qin, Y. Su, Strong convergence theorem for relatively nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space, Nonlinear Anal. 67 (2007), 1958-1965] and many others.

  • In this paper, a novel type of iterative learning controller is studied. The proposed learning algorithm utilizes not only the error signal of the previous iteration but also the delayed error signal of the current iteration. The delayed error signal is adopted to improve the convergence speed. The convergence condition is examined and the result shows that the proposed learning algorithm shows the fast convergence speed under the same convergence condition of the traditional iterative learning algorithm. The simulation examples are presented to confirm the validity of the proposed ILC algorithm.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study an implicit iteration process with errors and establish weak and strong convergence theorems to converge to common fixed points for a finite family of generalized asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive mappings in the framework of uniformly convex Banach spaces. Our results extend, improve and generalize some known results from the existing literature.

  • In this paper we present a new iteration method for solving optimization problems governed by partial differential equations. We generalize the existing methods such as simple gradient methods and pseudo-time methods to get an efficient iteration method. Numerical tests show that the convergence of the new iteration method is much faster than those of the pseudo-time methods especially when the parameter $\sigma$ in the cost functional is small.

  • Let X be a real Banach space and $A:X{\rightarrow}2^X$ be an $\alpha$-strongly accretive operator. It is proved that if the duality mapping J of X satisfies Condition (I) with additional conditions, then the Ishikawa and Mann iteration processes with errors converge strongly to the unique solution of operator equation $z{\in}Ax$. In addition, the convergence of the Ishikawa and Mann iteration processes with errors for $\alpha$-strongly pseudo-contractive operators is given.

  • In this article, we first give metric version of an iteration scheme of Agarwal et al. [1] and approximate fixed points of two finite families of nonexpansive mappings in hyperbolic spaces through this iteration scheme which is independent of but faster than Mann and Ishikawa scheme. Also we consider case of three finite families of nonexpansive mappings. But, we need an extra condition to get convergence. Our convergence theorems generalize and refine many know results in the current literature.

  • In this paper, some strong convergence theorems are obtained for hybrid method for modified Ishikawa iteration process of asymptotically nonexpansive mappings and asymptotically nonexpansive semigroups in Hilbert spaces. The results presented in this article generalize and improve results of Tae-Hwa Kim and Hong-Kun Xu and others. The convergence rate of the iteration process presented in this article is faster than hybrid method of Tae-Hwa Kim and Hong-Kun Xu and others.
