AMS radiocarbon dates indicated that Eurimji reservoir, located at Jecheon City, Chungbuk Province, has been formed during the late Holocene Epoch. The sedimentary sequence at bottom reveals histories in hydrology, climate conditions and past vegetation dynamics. Ages controlled sedimentological and palynological analyses on ER 3-1 Core contribute to reconstruct paleoclimate and past hydrological conditions. These analyses suggest that lower interval (307.5m~309.5m elevations) of the ER 3-1 Core was deposited in stable from 1,920 yrBP to 1,420 yrBP, but upper layer sediment above these elevations was composed of reworked sediments during the pre and post 2,000 yrBP. Pollen assemblage indicates that watershed vegetation of the Eurimji reservoir, during the period of 1,920 yrBP~1,420 yrBP, was closely comparable to modern vegetation dominated Pinus and Quercus mixed vegetation. Also, riparian including Alnus, Fraxinus and Salix were inhabited along the banks of stream, and aquatics such as Typha, Nymphaea and Persicaria flourished at shore of the reservoir. According to cultural chronicle, it infers that the Eurimji reservoir was formed from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age or the beginning of ancient society. An integrated data suggested that Quercus-Pinus-Abies mixed forest flourished under cool and dry climate conditions during 3,200 yrBP~200 yrBP.
The chemical-looping combustion(CLC) has advantages of no energy loss for separation of $CO_2$ without $NO_x$ formation. This CLC system consists of oxidation and reduction reactors where metal oxides particles are circulating through these two reactors. In the present study, the reaction kinetic equations of iron oxide oxygen carriers supported on bentonite have been determined by the shrinking core model. Based on the reactivity data, design values of solid circulation rate and solids inventory were determined for the rector. Two types of interconnected fluidized bed systems were designed for CLC application, one system consists of a riser and a bubbling fluidized bed, and the other one has a riser and two bubbling fluidized beds. Solid circulation rates were varied to about $30kg/m^2s$ by aeration into a loop-seal. Solid circulation rate increases with increasing aeration velocity and it increases further with an auxiliary gas flow into the loop-seal. As solid circulation rate is increased, solid hold up in the riser increases. A typical gas leakage from the riser to the fluidized bed is found to be less than 1%.
Thalamus is known to play an important role in the regulation of nerve function. Thalamus, located in the center of the brain, is involved in sleep, arousal, and emotional regulation, and has been reported to be associated with multiple sclerosis, essential tremors, and neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease. In addition, it has been reported that iron deposits in the thalamus can cause depressive symptoms with age. Although there are discrepancies between studies, it can be deduced that the thalamus region has a clear effect on neurological disorders due to a strong relationship between the thalamus and neurological functions such as emotional control and processing. Through tractography analysis, the connectivity between the detailed areas of each subcortical region was investigated in the form of a matrix, showing strong connectivity and weak interhemispheric connectivity. In the 59> group, the WM connectivity of thalamus was found to be weaker than those of the two groups. Comparisons between the two groups showed that the young groups (10-39 and 40-59) had higher connection intensity than the 59> group and that statistically significant differences in 3 connection pathways were found in each hemisphere. A decrease in thalamus-related connection strength in aging has shown that it can affect emotional and neurological disorders such as anxiety and depression, and network measurements can help assess cognitive impairment across clinical conditions.

In this paper, the cost-effective design of output reactor which is USCD to suppress the over-voltage at the m motor terminal in the Adjustable Speed Drives(ASD) application is proposed. In the elevator drive svstem. the R IXlwer cable length is relatively shorter than other ASD applications and then the over voltage at the motor terminal depends on the frequency characteristics of the output reactor at the over voltage operating frequency. The over-voltage suppression mechanism of output reactor in ASD application is analyzed and the dominant parameters of output reactor for the over-voltage supression are extracted. Using these as the design values and considering the high frequency characteristics of iron core in the reactor. a new c cost-effective structure of output reactor is proposed. Experimental results of the conventional reactor and the p proposed reactor with a l5kW induction motor are given to verify the propoSLD scheme.

A flux lock-type SFCL consists of two coils which are wound in parallel each other through an iron core, and a HTSC thin film connects in series with coil 2. The operation of the flux-lock type SFCL can be divided into the subtractive polarity winding and the additive polarity winding operations according to the winding directions between coil 1, coil 2. When a fault occurs, the fault current in the HTS thin film exceeds the critical current so that resistance is generated in the HTS film, and thereby the fault current is limited by an instant rise in the impedance of the flux-lock type SFCL. We investigated he variances of initial fault current limiting instant according to the ratio of inductance of coil 1 and coil 2 in the flux-lock type SFCL. It was confirmed from experiments that the initial fault current limiting instant in the subtractive polarity and additive polarity windings were faster as the ratio of coil 2' inductance for coil 1's inductance increased. The 1st peak of fault current in case of the subtractive polarity winding was higher as the ratio of coil 2's inductance for coil 1's inductance increased. On the other hand, in case of the additive polarity winding, the 1st peak of fault current was lower.

The slotless linear synchronous motor(LSM) has the advantages that the structure of the mover is simple and it can control the trust force ripple by make the magnetic energy in a gap uniform by removing a slot of the primary iron core. Also, the application of the transportation system is becoming expansion because it high efficiency drive is possible and compares with the other LSM as control is more excellent. However, the application of the living field was unsatisfactory. Therefore, in this study, we examined the drive characteristics by the position feedback control for the living field application of the slotless LSM and we prove useful of the controller through load loading and the acceleration changing to get minimization of the speed vibration and stable answer characteristics.

The Improved flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) is composed of a series transformer and superconducting unit of the YBCO coated conductor. The primary and secondary coils in the transformer were wound in series each other through an iron core and the YBCO coated conductor was connected with secondary coil in parallel. In a normal condition, the flux generated from a primary coil is cancelled out by its structure and the zero resistance of the YBCO thin films. When a fault occurs, the resistance of the YBCO coated conductor was generated and the fault current was limited by the SFCL. In this paper, we investigated the fault current limiting characteristics through the spot at the beginning of the fault current in the Improved flux-lock type SFCL. The experiment results that the fault current limiting characteristics was difference according to the point of a fault current started. Through the analysis, it was shown that shorter the time of a phase transition.

In last study, Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) was conducted for cadmium content of 295 rice varieties including 137 rice core set and 157 Korea breeding varieties collected from Kongju National University. The results showed that 9 varieties had SNP allele and amino acid substitution in exon of chromosome 1. This study was aim to understanding mechanism of cadmium uptake to confirm correlation of cadmium and other mineral nutrients (Cu, Mn, Fe) among 9 rice varieties. Nine varieties were planted on polluted soil of mine in Korea and cadmium content in root, stem, leaf and it's brown rice was analyzed by ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass spectrometer, Agilent 7700E, US). Results of this study showed that mechanism for cadmium uptake and accumulation was diversity among varieties. Chin-nong and Ho-nong contained higher levels of cadmium in root, but contained relatively lower levels cadmium in brown rice than other varieties. Cheong-nam, Nam-pyeong, Gan-cheok, Suan absorbed high levels of cadmium through root and then accumulated high cadmium to brown rice. Meanwhile, Yeong-deok and Su-kwang absorbed lower cadmium in root, but high cadmium was accumulated in brown rice. Correlations between cadmium and other mineral nutrients (Cu, Mn, Fe) were analyzed by using SPSS statistics 20. The contents of iron in leaf had minus correlation (p<0.05) with cooper and cadmium in root, cadmium in brown rice. Therefore understanding of cadmium uptake mechanism among varieties will be used to basic data for further breeding and phytoremediation.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of apical-coronal implant position on the stress distribution after occlusal and oblique loading. Materials and Methods: The cortical and cancellous bone was assumed to be isotropic, homogeneous, and linearly elastic. The implant was apposed to cortical bone in the crestal region and to cancellous bone for the remainder of the implant-bone interface. The cancellous core was surrounded by 2-mm-thick cortical bone. An axial load of 200 N was assumed and a 200-N oblique load was applied at a buccal inclination of 30 degrees to the center of the pontic and buccal cusps. The 3-D geometry modeled in Iron CAD was interfaced with ANSYS. Results: When only the stress in the bone was compared, the minimal principal stress at load Points A and B, with a axial load applied at 90 degrees or an oblique load applied at 30 degrees, for model 5. The von Mises stress in the screw of model 5 was minimal at Points A and B, for 90- and 30-degree loads. When the von Mises stress of the abutment screw was compared at Points A and B, and a 30-degree oblique load, the maximum principal stress was seen with model 2, while the minimum principal stress was with model 5. In the case of implant, the model that received maximum von Mises stress was model 1 with the load Point A and Point B, axial load applied in 90-degree, and oblique load applied in 30-degree. Discussion and Conclusions: These results suggests that implantation should be done at the supracrestal level only when necessary, since it results in higher stress than when implantation is done at or below the alveolar bone level. Within the limited this study, we recommend the use of supracrestal apical-coronal positioning in the case of clinical indications.

Recently, many linear motion generators and motors are rapidly finding applications that ranges from short stroke linear motion vibrators, such as dynamic cone type loudspeakers to stirling engine driven linear reciprocating alternators, compressors, textile machines etc. The stroke-length may go up to 2m, and the maximum speed is in the range of 5 to 10m/s with oscillating frequency as high as 15 kHz. Therefore, the linear oscillating actuators(LOAs) may be considered as variable speed drivers of precise controller with stoke-length and reversal periods during the reciprocating motion. In this paper, the design, fabrication, experiments, and extraction of control parameters of a moving coil type LOA for driving of linear reciprocating motion control systems, are treated. The actuator consists of the NdFeB permanent magnets with high specific energy as the stator produced magnetic field, a coil-wrapped nonmagnetic hollow rectangular bobbin structure, and an iron core as a pathway for magnetic flux. Actually, the design is accomplished by using FEM analysis for the basic configuration of a magnetic circuit, and characteristic equations for coil design. In order to apply as the drivers of a linear motion reciprocating control system, the control parameters and circuit parameters, such as input voltage-stoke, exciting frequency-stoke, coil inductance and so on, are extracted from the analysis and experiments on concerning a fabricating LOA.
