  • This study examines how marital dissatisfaction is connected with extramarital relations among married women. To explore this subject,1 am using in-depth interview techniques. The data from 16 married women who involved (and are involving) extramarital relations are collected in semistructured interviews. In this article, I describe four specific types of extramarital relations with particular relevance to marital dissatisfaction: (1) temporary extramarital relations caused by marital dissatisfaction, (2) positive extramarital relations as maintaining dissatisfied marriage, (3) unavoidable extramarital relations as breaking dissatisfied marriage, and (4) extramarital relations as a part of life with satisfied marriage. With these results, I believe that equity theory could be applicable in explaining the relationships between marital satisfaction and extramarital relations. There are limitations when the qualitative research is analyzed. One problem is measurement. It is difficult to measure equality (or equity), life dissatisfaction, and other concepts. furthermore, this study is not abbe to explain causal relationships among equality, life dissatisfaction, actual extramarital relations. The future study should perhaps be in quantitative research focused on the causal model in which all exchange variables are conceptualized and properly measured for the intimate relationship.

  • This study reviews advances in research made during the last decade in studies of aging families in Korea. Specifically, we provide a critical review of the theoretical directions and empirical findings of 87 research articles focused on aging families published in the Journal of the Korean Gerontological Society between 2008 and 2017. Topics and issues covered include: (a) diversity in family structures and households, (b) intergenerational relations, (c) intimate relations, and (d) family problems in later life. We found that while research applying theories and employing advanced methodologies has increased, embracing more diverse theories and ensuring nationally representative panel data from multi-reporters within families will enhance future research in aging and families. The authors conclude that more multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches are needed in the field of family studies and gerontology in Korea.

  • This study performed GIS and statistical analyses on the location and spatial characteristics of the slum in Daejeon. Spatial data of 648 slum residents in Daejeon were collected and 131 residents among them were surveyed. The results showed the trends of higher rent, lower social exclusion and closer neighboring relations in slum center than the surrounding areas, which could be interpreted as the interrelated multilateral effects of the micro- (housing), meso- (relations), exo- (community) and macro- (government policy) systems. The strong bonds among neighbors and various supports from social service facilities elevated the slum area's rent and diminished residents' social exclusion more than housing conditions (for instance, poor hygiene and low safety). Slum tenants willingly paid a premium for their substandard housings and refused moving to governmentally provided modern housing units. In urban development, administrative authorities need to be cautious about slum uprooting. Much rather an alternative renewal approach is needed which protects the slum's intimate relations while improving its overall living standards.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the attachment of college students to parents and peers as intimate or major attachment objects and their self-regulated learning ability. To accomplish this, we conducted a survey with the parents-peer attachment scale and self-regulated learning scale. As a result, it was found that the relationship between their self-regulated learning ability and parents-peer attachment was significant, while the explicit goal-oriented variable as an essential factor in the regulation of their motivation was excluded. In addition, it was found that the effect of peer and mother attachment on their self-regulated learning ability was relatively high. On the other hand, two variables, viz. the test anxiety in motivation regulation and timing and studying regulation in behavior regulation, were heavily influenced by father attachment. These results could be interpreted in two ways. First, there could be a lower relationship between positive relations and comparative advantages and, second, these two items could be closely related to the negative factors in the relationship between father and child.

However, even though both countries have made sound advances in the ASIAN market, they have not established mutually remarkable cooperative relations and advances in the ASIAN market. If korean companies with abundant experience and management ability provide able managers and skilled labor and if Japanese companies provide construction technology, capital and information, they could enjoy enomorous mutual benefits by advancing in the area of plant construction in foreign countries. Therefore, if they cooperate with each other by establishing complementary cooperation, both countries can gain an advantage in international competitiveness with western advanced countries.

  • This paper studies how marriage migrants are being depicted in Korean Cinema. In the recent years, the foreign population in South Korea has been increasing and so has done the presence of migrant minorities in media, including cinema. This study discusses that korean cinema shows dominant ideologies of power in Korean society where marriage migrants are located at the bottom. Five films were analyzed and from this analysis five frames were extracted. Marriage migrants are frequently depicted as subordinated or powerless, they are usually women in the role of wives, mothers, and daughters-in-law, they are treated as ethnic others, sexualized others or commodities. Consequently, their relationships with Korean nationals are formed by power relations. Moreover, Korean national who do establish some sort of intimate relationship with the marriage migrants are represented as people in the margins of Korean society. In this way, it is reinforced the social position of marriage migrants as outsiders in the Korean society.

  • TV program favorability does not necessarily lead to actions related to programs such as producing videos, emotions, webtoons, and goods, participating in concerts, and fan meetings. Therefore, there might be a mediating variable between program favorability and related behaviors. This study presents relationships as a mediating variable. This study assumed that if the program favorability is high, a positive relationship can be formed with the program, the characters on the show, the groups appearing in the program, the viewers who watch it together, and viewing affordance. Those formed relations can have positive effects on the program related activities. In the conducted online survey, we found that high favorability has positive effects on intimate relationships with the program, viewing affordance, characters, and other viewers, and these relationships have positive effects on program-related offline and online activities. However, the relationship with the character group has a negative effect on program-related behavior. This may be the result of viewers feeling alienated from highly intimate relationships formed among characters appearing in the show.
