  • Background: In non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), malignant pleural effusion is a frequently observed com-plication, and is an important negative prognostic factor. Although many studies concerned to diagnosis and treatment of malignant pleural effusion have been performed, prognostic factors of malignant pleural effusion have rarely been investigated. This study was performed to determine the prognostic factors of malignant pleural effusion n non-small cell lung cancer. Material and Method: We evaluated 33 NSCLC patients with malignant effusion treated between January 2002 and December 2003. We analyzed possible factors: gender, age, TNM Stage, fluid analysis (pH, CEA, LDH, glucose, albumin) and treatment modality. Median survival time of each factor was calculated by Kaplan-Meier method and difference of median survival time between groups of factor compared by log-rank test. The Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to confirm the significance of prognostic factor. Results: Of the 33 patients, 23 (69.7%) patients were adenocarcinoma. The median interval of the diagnosis of lung cancer and malignant effusion was 7.3 months ($25^{th}{\sim}75^{th}:\;3.9{\sim}11.8$), and the median survival time was 3.6 months (95% Confidence Interval: $1.14{\sim}5.99$). In the univariate analysis, using the log-rank test, those with an adenocarcinoma showed a relatively longer median survival time than those of a non-adenocarcinoma (4.067 vs. 1.867 months, p=0.067) without statistical significance. In the multivariate analysis, using the Cox regression, those with a non-adenocarcinoma showed a trend of high risk of cancer death than those with an adenocarcinoma without statistical significance (Relative risk; 2.754, 95% Cl: $0.988{\sim}7.672$, p=0.053). Conclusion: We could not find an independent prognostic factor of malignant pleural effusion in NSCLC. As there was a trend of high risk of cancer death according to histology, further study will be needed.

  • The band-limited angular spectrum method (BL-ASM) causes aliasing errors due to spatial frequency control problems. In this paper, a sampling interval adjustment technique for phase holograms and a technique for reducing speckle noise and improving image quality using a deep-learningbased U-net model are proposed. With the proposed technique, speckle noise is reduced by first calculating the sampling factor and controlling the spatial frequency by adjusting the sampling interval so that aliasing errors can be removed in a wide range of propagation. The next step is to improve the quality of the reconstructed image by learning the phase hologram to which the deep learning model is applied. In the S/W simulation of various sample images, it was confirmed that the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and structural similarity index measure (SSIM) were improved by 5% and 0.14% on average, compared with the existing BL-ASM.

  • The fishery compensation by marine spatial planning such as routeing of ships and offshore wind farms is required objective data on whether fishing vessels are engaged in a target area. There has still been no research that calculated the number of fishing operation days scientifically. This study proposes a novel method for calculating the number of fishing operation days using the fishing trajectory data when investigating fishery compensation in marine spatial planning areas. It was calculated by multiplying the average reporting interval of trajectory data, the number of collected data, the status weighting factor, and the weighting factor for fishery compensation according to the location of each fishing vessel. In particular, the number of fishing operation days for the compensation of driftnet fishery was considered the daily average number of large vessels from the port and the fishery loss hours for avoiding collisions with them. The target area for applying the proposed method is the routeing area of ships of Jeju outer port. The yearly average fishing operation days were calculated from three years of data from 2017 to 2019. As a result of the study, the yearly average fishing operation days for the compensation of each fishing village fraternity varied from 0.0 to 39.0 days. The proposed method can be used for fishery compensation as an objective indicator in various marine spatial planning areas.

  • In this paper, we consider an amplify-and-forward (AF) full-duplex relay network (FDRN) using simultaneous wireless information and power transfer, where a battery-free relay node harvests energy from the received radio frequency (RF) signals from a source node and uses the harvested energy to forward the source information to destination node. The time-switching relaying (TSR) protocol is studied, with the assumption that the channel state information (CSI) at the relay node is imperfect. We deliver a rigorous analysis of the outage probability of the proposed system. Based on the outage probability expressions, the optimal time switching factor are obtained via the numerical search method. The simulation and numerical results provide practical insights into the effect of various system parameters, such as the time switching factor, the noise power, the energy harvesting efficiency, and the channel estimation error on the performance of this network. It is also observed that for the imperfect CSI case, the proposed scheme still can provide acceptable outage performance given that the channel estimation error is bounded in a permissible interval.

  • In this paper, a three phase PWM AC to DC boost converter that operates with unity power factor and sinusodial input currents si presented. The current control of the converter is based on the space vector PWM strategy with fixed switching frequency and the imput current tracks the reference current within one sampling time interval. Space vector PWM strategy for current control was materialized as a digital control method by using DSP. By using this control strategy low ripples in the output voltage, low harmonics in the input current and fast dynamic responses are achieved with a small capacitance in the dc link.

  • The objective of this study is to stimulate the satisfaction on food color sensitivity through objectifying the color sensitivities on customer's foods. The preference analysis on food sensitivity adjectives is measured on 5-point scale by preferring degree on each adjectives. And it is calculated on the sensitivities for the SD method that is used for finding whether it is strong or not on food image stimulus which was photographed on the 8 restaurants in Seoul. We found the outcome as follows. The most preferred sensitivity adjective is 'cleanness', and the worst preferred one is 'unshapliness'. It is differed on genders by $95\%$ confidence interval. The attractiveness, simplicity, richness, comfort and elegance are derived from the result of factor analysis for food color sensitivity. The yellow or orange color foods are main one for the simplicity and comfort. The orange color food are fit on richness and elegance factor, and it will be most effective if choosing the color more similar to brown one.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a valid and reliable instrument to explore and measure job satisfaction as perceived by perioperative nurses, specifically from the perspective of contemporary perioperative nursing in Korea. Method: Items (69) were developed from the responses to two open-ended questions by 168 perioperative nurses in one teaching hospital; (a) reasons that make work enjoyable, (b) reasons that make work unpleasant. Finally 55 items were selected, excluding items with lower correlation with the total scale. The instrument was completed by 885 perioperative nurses from 89 different hospitals nationwide who were attending the annual conference of the Korean Association Operating Room Nurses (KAORN), yielding a response rate of 95.6%. Results: Ten factors were extracted by factor analysis, which explained 60.0% of the total variance; Reliability and internal consistency were established (Cronbach's alpha=.95). A smaller sample of 39 perioperative nurses completed the instrument on two occasions, with a 2-week interval between. Mean scores were computed and two sets of scores were analyzed by Weighted Kappa (W-Kappa=0.680, p=.029). Conclusion: This instrument is a concise, highly practical and flexible tool, which can be used for the perioperative nurse in a wide range of hospital settings.

  • Objective: The aim of the present study was to develop and validate a recognition scale for childcare teachers' rights. Methods: Statistical methods for data analysis involved the use of SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 20.0. To confirm the reliability and validity of the developed scale, various analyses, including item quality assessment, item discrimination, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis, were conducted. The maximum likelihood estimation method was employed for model fitting. Goodness of fit was assessed using SRMR, RMSEA and its 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI. Through these analyses, the scale's reliability and validity exceeded the standard. Consequently, 5 factors and 30 questions were ultimately selected as the recognition scale for childcare teachers' rights. Results: First, a recognition scale for childcare teachers' rights was developed to reflect changes in childcare settings. Second, an objective measurement was incorporated into the recognition scale of childcare teachers' rights. Third, the analysis using the proposed scale revealed a correlation between the recognition of childcare teachers' rights and life satisfaction. Conclusion/Implications: The study developed a scale capable of objectively measuring the recognition of childcare teachers' rights.
