  • The last few years have represented a boom for the online gaming industry. Internet-based online games have been an increasingly popular form of entertainment. The gaming industry estimates there will be over 26 million online gaming participants in 2002. The rapid development of online game content and related information technology will increase the size of the industry and have a profound impact on many aspects of our lives and our society. This paper develops the exploratory LISREL model for identifying the factors affecting the players' loyalty to a specific brand of online game. The concepts of flow, word of mouth, feedback, challenge, social norms, and online community activities, etc, are all introduced into the model, as the independent variables directly and indirectly affecting loyalty. Based on data collected from an online survey, the validity of the model has been tested and interesting conclusions have been developed concerning the relationships between loyalty and flow, word of mouth, and other independent variables. It is hoped that this result might provide useful guidelines for developing successful online game content.

  • MMORPG enables thousands of players to play in an evolving virtual world at the same time over the internet. So, the load of this kind of games is heavier than that of any other precedents. One of load balancing methods is map-partition to divide the load of entire system which is vulnerable to delay message between clients and servers. In this paper, we propose a game architecture using MigAgent to help migration of player character between field servers and to reduce message traffic between clients and field servers.

  • Known as "The Ninth Form of Art", video game is a form of hypermedia art rising in response to the rapid development of modern technology, with millions of fans worldwide. From the perspective of the game market, those games that have high stickiness and a long operating cycle usually have abundant doujin works. As a spontaneous behavior of the players, doujin culture reflects the players' feelings towards and perception of the games, and it reacts upon the original game while relying on it, exerting a far-reaching influence on the operation of game products. We try to analyze the influences of doujin culture on game operation performance, hoping to provide game operators with some useful ideas.

  • As the Internet empowers citizens and democratizes societies, it is also changing classic business and economic paradigms. New models of commercial Interaction are developing as businesses and consumers participate in the electronic marketplace and reap the resultant benefits. Entrepreneurs are able to start new businesses more easily, with smaller up-front investment requirements, by accessing the Internet's worldwide network of customers. Internet technology is having a profound effect on the global trade in services. World trade involving computer software, entertainment products(motion pictures, videos, games, soul)d recordings), information services(databases, online newspapers), technical information, product licenses, financial services, and professional services(businesses and technical consulting, accounting, architectural design, legal advice, travel services, etc.) has grown rapidly in the past decade.

  • Communications among multi-party must be fast, cost effective and secure. Today's computing environments such as internet conference, multi-user games and many more applications involve multi-party. All participants together establish a common session key to enable multi-party and secure exchange of messages. Multi-party password-based authenticated key exchange scheme allows users to communicate securely over an insecure network by using easy-to-remember password. Kwon et al. proposed a practical three-party password-based authenticated key exchange (3-PAKE) scheme to allow two users to establish a session key through a server without pre-sharing a password between users. However, Kwon et al.'s scheme cannot meet the security requirements of key authentication, key confirmation and anonymity. In this paper, we present a novel, simple and efficient multi-party password-based authenticated key exchange (M-PAKE) scheme based on the elliptic curve cryptography for mobile environment. Our proposed scheme only requires two round-messages. Furthermore, the proposed scheme not only satisfies security requirements for PAKE scheme but also achieves efficient computation and communication.

  • To support emerging group applications such as network games and Internet live-casting efficiently. IP multicast mechanism is highly needed. But IP multicast still has not been deployed in the current Internet because of its difficulty to manage. Overlay multicast mechanisms are proposed to serve group communications more effectively in the current unicast oriented Internet. In this paper we categorize the proposed ones into topological view point.

  • In this paper, a new wireless internet service for TV is proposed using the detection of a mobile agent of each mobile company Especially. new broadcasting programs like as music charts. quiz games can be serried by a mobile internet phone. In this proposed system, all mobile protocols( WAP, ME. W3C) are supported by one server based on the mobile agent detection of URL over the existed wire and wireless internees.

  • Internet users are increasingly depending on acquiring and spreading a variety of information from home pages and they are also making use of education systems based on the internet. This study suggests an efficient method to make learners study Chinese Letters with ease and fun through the internet. The detailed methods of attaining Chinese letters Using Edutainment system are divided into 5 elements as follows. Utilizing the transition process of the letters, using games, applying animation and through switching over from Chinese letters to Korean letters and vice versa including making use of the sound of letters and their meanings.

  • Recently game addiction of young people has become a social issue. Therefore, many studies, mostly surveys, have been conducted to diagnose game addiction. In this paper, we suggest how to distinguish levels of addiction based on EEG. To this end, we first classify four groups by the degrees of addiction to internet games (High-risk group, Vigilance group, Normal group, Good-user group) using CSG (Comprehensive Scale for Assessing Game Behavior) and then measure their Event Related Potential(ERP) in the Go/NoGo Task. Specifically, we measure the signals of P300, N400 and N200 from the channels of the NoGo stimulus and Go stimulus. In addition, we extract distinct features from the discrete wavelet transform of the EEG signal and use these features to distinguish the degrees of addiction to internet games. The experiments in this study show that High-risk and Vigilance group exhibit lower Go-N200 amplitude of Fz channel than Normal and Good-user groups. In Go-P300 and NoGo-P300 of Fz channel, High-risk and Vigilance groups exhibit higher amplitude than Normal and Good-user group. In Go-N400 and NoGo-N400 of Pz channel, High-risk and Vigilance group exhibit lower amplitude than Normal and Good-user group. The test after the learning study of the extracted characteristics of each frequency band from the EEG signal showed 85% classification accuracy.

  • This study was aimed to assess the degree of addiction on computer games and find factors related to game addiction, health perception and health promoting behavior in elementary school students. A study subjects were 814 students in 5th and 6th grades at 4 elementary schools in a city and a county. The items in questionnaire was consisted of general characteristics, circumstances and habits related to utilization of computer and internet game playing, and degree of addiction, health perception and health promoting behavior. We analyzed data using chi-square test, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. In multiple regression analysis, addictiveness on internet game was significantly related to type of computer utilization, frequency and duration of internet game playing, gender, after-school activities, grade points, economical status, and location of computer in a house. Health perception was significantly related to addiction points, gender, residential area, and grade points. And health promoting behavior was significantly related to addiction points, grade level, grade points, and health perception points. Since health promoting behaviors of children in elementary school are in the way of making, their degree of addiction to computer games can greatly influence their attitude towards health and their future life pattern as adults. Therefore an educational prevention program including counselling on game addiction should be devised. And researches will be needed for developing the Korean standard for measuring degree of addiction and a prevention program for peer group's game addiction.
