Interface Assessment를 통한 액티브 시니어의 사용자 경험 분석 (A User Experience Study for Active Senior based on Interface Assessment)

  • 본 논문은 기존 노년층과는 다른 특성을 보이는 액티브 시니어의 사용자 경험 문제를 도출해 내기 위한 연구로 먼저 선행 연구분석을 통하여 'Visible', 'Desired Outcome', 'Immediate Feedback', 'Intuitiveness', 'Perceived Ease of Use'의 다섯 가지 요소를 사용자 interaction의 초기단계를 이루는 요소로 추출하였고 이를 기반으로 Interface 사용 중에 사용자의 행위와 인지 내용을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 사용과정에서 생기는 문제점을 도출하였으며, 다섯 가지 요소와 사용자의 주관 평가 간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 사용자 경험의 주관 평가에는 PSSUQ를 사용하였으며 SPSS 22 버전을 사용하여 pearson 상관 분석을 실시하였다. 본 논문의 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, App 사용 시 액티브 시니어 사용자들이 겪는 가장 큰 문제는 desired outcome차원의 문제로 볼 수 있다. 둘째, interface assessment 다섯 가지 요소 중 'Desired Outcome', 'Perceived Ease of Use' 두 가지 요소만이 PSSUQ 설문 결과와 통계적으로 유의미한 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났으며 나머지 'Visible', 'Immediate Feedback', 'Intuitiveness'의 세 요소는 사용자의 주관 평가와 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 본 논문의 연구결과에 의하면 액티브 시니어는 기존의 노년층과는 다른 특징을 가지고 있어 'Desired Outcome'과 'Perceived ease of use'차원의 문제가 더 많은 영향을 미치는 요소로 볼 수 있으며 기존의 연구에서 중요한 요소로 거론한 'Visible', 'Immediate feedback', 'Intuitiveness'는 명확한 상관관계가 없는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이는 기존 노년층과 달리 액티브 시니어의 경우 PC나 스마트폰 사용 경험의 누적으로 인하여 visible, immediate feedback, intuitiveness 등의 요소에 어려움을 적게 겪기 때문인 것으로 보인다. 본 논문의 연구 결과는 다양한 수요를 보이고 있는 액티브 시니어용 App의 개발에 의미 있게 활용될 것이다.

체계적인 힌팅 인터페이스 설계 방법의 연구 (A Systematic Method of Hinting Interface Design)

  • Most users learn new, complex systems through trial-and-error experience rather than referring to the manuals in a cognitive process that is called 'exploratory learning'. While exploring a system, people find prototypical rules for using the system based especially on frequent tasks. The rules are formed from consistent task procedures and well-expected interface elements on the designed system. These rules play the role of the basis of users' knowledge for performing tasks. The decision making to select and apply those rules interacting with an interface can be aided by properly provided hints on the interface. With appropriate hints, users can learn new systems easily and use them with reduced usability problems. This paper first reports an observation of user behavior performing tasks with prototypical interaction rules and finds a sound set of criteria to extract prototypical interaction rules systematically. Two types of hints are defined. Extending hints prompt users to apply prototypical interaction rules beyond well-known tasks. Preventive hints guide users out of possible capture errors by drawing attention to the variation of rules. A systematic and practical method is proposed to identify the opportunities for both types in designing interfaces. It is then verified through a usability test that the proposed method is effective in identifying the locations and types of appropriate hints to reduce or mitigate usability problems.

A Long-Range Touch Interface for Interaction with Smart TVs

  • A powerful interaction mechanism is one of the key elements for the success of smart TVs, which demand far more complex interactions than traditional TVs. This paper proposes a novel interface based on the famous touch interaction model but utilizes long-range bare hand tracking to emulate touch actions. To satisfy the essential requirements of high accuracy and immediate response, the proposed hand tracking algorithm adopts a fast color-based tracker but with modifications to avoid the problems inherent to those algorithms. By using online modeling and motion information, the sensitivity to the environment can be greatly decreased. Furthermore, several ideas to solve the problems often encountered by users interacting with smart TVs are proposed, resulting in a very robust hand tracking algorithm that works superbly, even for users with sleeveless clothing. In addition, the proposed algorithm runs at a very high speed of 82.73 Hz. The proposed interface is confirmed to comfortably support most touch operations, such as clicks, swipes, and drags, at a distance of three meters, which makes the proposed interface a good candidate for interaction with smart TVs.

지속 가능한 구조설계 정보의 인터페이스 모듈 개발 (A Development of Sustainable Interface Module for the Structural Design Information)

  • 본 연구는 지속가능한 구조설계 정보의 인터페이스 모듈의 개발에 관한 것으로 구조해석 S/W인 Midas/Gen과 BIM S/W인 Tekla Structures를 대상으로 한다. 모듈의 개발은 기존 연구의 내용을 근간으로 기능과 적용성을 개선하였다. 기존 연구에서 모델 정보를 양방향으로 교환하는데 있어 기능적으로 문제가 없었지만, 구조해석모델과 실시설계 모델의 특성 차이로 적용성이 제한적이고 일회적이라는 문제점을 가지고 있었다. 본 연구에서는 기존 연구에서 발생하는 문제점을 분석하고, 그에 대한 해결책을 제시하였으며, 이를 반영하여 인터페이스 모듈의 적용성을 개선하고자 하였다.

발전플랜트 설계 인터페이스 중심의 건축설계절차 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Architectural Design Process on the Interface in Designing of Power Plant)

  • The cooperation with other work types and designing procedure in plant industry and engineering showed clear differences from general construction industries. Current problems are that design's consistency is reduced because of the false system of interface and it ultimately causes frequency changes of design and delayed submission of final book. To solve the problems, the improvements of designing procedure were studied by focusing on the field of architectural designing and the range was limited from power plant construction industry to engineering designing field. If combining GA with the field of architectural designing and receiving data previously, it's possible to conduct expectable designing on small changes in the future, so it's expected to improve greatly cooperation with interface among the work types of power plant engineering received previously from the aspect of consistency. For the application of designing tool, a checklist, interim check will be conducted if progressed by list's division in the designing procedure, not book's completing period. In the interface among the designing work types, direct confirmation and revision must be conducted. In case of 3D modeling, the reflection of input data must be conducted from the basic designing so as to solve interferences intensively.

경계면 포착법에 의한 밀도차이에 따른 물질경계면을 갖는 다상유동 수치해석 (Numerical Simulation of Multiphase Flows with Material Interface due to Density Difference by Interface Capturing Method)

  • The Rayleigh-Taylor instability, the bubble rising in both partially and fully filled containers and the droplet splash are simulated by an in-house solution code(PowerCFD), which are typical benchmark problems among multiphase flows with material interface due to density difference. The present method(code) employs an unstructured cell-centered method based on a conservative pressure-based finite-volume method with interface capturing method(CICSAM) in a volume of fluid(VOF) scheme for phase interface capturing. The present results are compared with other numerical solutions found in the literature. It is found that the present method simulates efficiently and accurately complex free surface flows such as multiphase flows with material interface due to both density difference and instability.

유한요소법을 이용한 주축 인터페이스부의 정강성 특성 (Static Stiffness Characteristics of Main Spindle Interface using Finite Element Method)

  • High speed machining has become the main issue of metal cutting. Due to increase of the rotational speed of the spindle, problems such as the run-out errors and reduced stiffness must be overcome to improve the machining accuracy. In order to solve the problems, it is important to determine the appropriate clamping unit and tooling system. This paper presents an investigation into an analysis of static stiffness in the main spindle interface. Finite element analysis is performed by using a commercial code ANSYS according to variation of cutting force, clamping force and rotational speed. From the finite element results, it is shown that the rotational speed and clamping force mostly influence on the variation of the static stiffness in the main spindle interface.

CCUP 기법을 이용한 2 차원 슬로싱 문제의 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of Violent Sloshing Problems by CCUP Method)

  • In the present paper, a numerical method based on the constraint interpolation profile (CIP) method is applied for simulating two-dimensional violent sloshing problems. The free surface boundary value problem is considered as a multiphase problem which includes water and air. A stationary Cartesian grid system is adopted, and an interface capturing method is used to trace the shape of free surface profile. The CIP combined unified procedure (CCUP) scheme is applied for flow solver, and the tangent of hyperbola for interface capturing (THINC) scheme is used for interface capturing. Numerical simulations have been carried out for partially-filled 2D tanks under forced sway and roll motions at various filling depths and frequencies. The computational results are compared with experiments and/or the other numerical results to validate the present numerical method.

ROBUST A POSTERIORI ERROR ESTIMATOR FOR LOWEST-ORDER FINITE ELEMENT METHODS OF INTERFACE PROBLEMS

  • In this paper we analyze an a posteriori error estimator based on flux recovery for lowest-order finite element discretizations of elliptic interface problems. The flux recovery considered here is based on averaging the discrete normal fluxes and/or tangential derivatives at midpoints of edges with weight factors adapted to discontinuous coefficients. It is shown that the error estimator based on this flux recovery is equivalent to the error estimator of Bernardi and $Verf{\ddot{u}}rth$ based on the standard edge residuals uniformly with respect to jumps of the coefficient between subdomains. Moreover, as a byproduct, we obtain slightly modified weight factors in the edge residual estimator which are expected to produce more accurate results.

A CONSISTENT DISCONTINUOUS BUBBLE SCHEME FOR ELLIPTIC PROBLEMS WITH INTERFACE JUMPS

  • We propose a consistent numerical method for elliptic interface problems with nonhomogeneous jumps. We modify the discontinuous bubble immersed finite element method (DB-IFEM) introduced in (Chang et al. 2011), by adding a consistency term to the bilinear form. We prove optimal error estimates in L2 and energy like norm for this new scheme. One of the important technique in this proof is the Bramble-Hilbert type of interpolation error estimate for discontinuous functions. We believe this is a first time to deal with interpolation error estimate for discontinuous functions. Numerical examples with various interfaces are provided. We observe optimal convergence rates for all the examples, while the performance of early DB-IFEM deteriorates for some examples. Thus, the modification of the bilinear form is meaningful to enhance the performance.
